This is a run down mall. There's trash everywhere inside and out. It seems as if the owners just gave up on it.

This mall has become so dead. The only things left here worth visiting it are maybe things like Macy's, Chickfila, Bath & Body Works, VS, and Express to name a few. Most of the spots taken up are by local businesses that I feel have no longevity in a place like this. Other than that, the place is empty. One use for the mall people seem to take advantage of is just to walk around in it. People walk around here for exercise in full workout clothes. I don't mind it, but it would be nice if the mall offered something more than just dead space to walk around in. Go somewhere else if you want the full mall experience with store worth shopping... cough cough Lynnhaven Mall or MacArthur Mall. read more

This mall has a lot of great stores and is very clean. My husband and I went yesterday and were pretty turned off by the entrance doors... The automatic door only allows one person to walk in at a time. I've actually only seen double entry automatic doors. read more

It sure was nice to be able to walk around a TWO-story mall today (ahem... Lynnhaven). There weren't a lot of people at the mall (save for the visiting high schoolers from Isle of Wight attacking the Chick-fil-a), so there was plenty of room to push the little munchkin around in her stroller. I couldn't ignore the sight of so many stores closed down. The sight of all those darkened, vacant spaces was pretty depressing. Also, I was sad to see the American Greetings store had been replaced with some rando men's clothing store (let's see how long that store lasts in that space). Greenbriar Mall isn't what it was years ago. Most of the stores have closed down. I must admit, they've redone the carpeting, they've changed the decor and made it a bit modern, but I think it was more of a ploy to redirect the fact that most of the stores have closed down. Yes, they still have Macy's, Dillards, and JC Penny's, but some other stores that have been there for many years are gone. The tired and true, Hallmark is no longer there. They've swapped it out with stores such as Vape Bars and t-shirt stores. If it wasn't for Mastercuts (for my 3 year old), New York & Company, and Rack Room Shoes, I wouldn't go. read more

Not the biggest mall, but pretty well kept with an average line up of stores. It will get the job done. If you are doing serious shopping, though, you'll probably have to head across Greenbrier Parkway to the nearby stores in the strip malls: Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, DSW. But Greenbrier Mall will get you started. I like the Macy's and Dillard's there, since they have good Junior's departments. For a big shopping trip, it's definitely worth your while to drive out to Lynnhaven Mall. read more

The mall itself is great. Store selection is good, parking always plentiful, and the establishment is generally pretty clean. However, I would love to know who is in charge of maintenance? Apparently no one!!! Please tell me how you can have 2 escalators AND the main elevator all closed down during a busy Labor Day weekend?!?! I mean really?!? And for those who have strollers full of crying babies (as well as more whining kids in tow) this is an even bigger inconvenience. Not to mention the disabled who are in wheelchairs! I understand things break and sometimes repairs are needed, but this is the 2nd time this week I have been here, and not only are they still broke- NO ONE IS EVEN THERE WORKING ON THEM!!! This is one of my favorite malls in the area. It has a nice size food court. I have been coming to this mall ever since I moved to Virginia almost seven years ago. Many stores have come and gone in Greenbrier Mall but most of the spaces have been filled up. Many places in the food court have come and gone. The mall still has the same 4 anchor stores. read more

I drove all the way to Cheapeake while vacationing in Virginia Beach, just to check out this mall. I was only slightly disappointed. We came in next to the Greene Turtle, which looked like it was a fun little sports bar. We didn't stop to check it out, but I peeked in and it looked fun. After that, we checked out the pet store, which we always do at malls. It was a cool store, with a large bird hanging out in the center of the store.The bird was hilarious, and demanded attention. Of course there were puppies and kittens, and they even had a few reptiles and birds. My favorite thing about the mall was the huge amount of game machines in the halls. Some of them had some great prizes, and they looked fun. Too bad I didn't have spare change on me, or else I would have blown it on these games. The layout of this mall was a little confusing, but it was interesting. The selection of stores was pretty good, ranging from the typical mall stores to a few higher end stores. All in all, a pretty fun mall. I wouldn't drive all the way out there just for this mall again, but as a one time thing, I'm glad I did. read more

I've never been a big fan of this mall because its way "out of the way" for me but I've noticed its been going down for the last ten years, the mall is overall really blah, it gives off an old soon to be run down feeling. There's plenty of shops but they don't seem to be drawing in the crows that this mall needs to stay alive, the food court is boring, the arcade is filled with run down/mostly broken ( not dispensing tokens/showing scores) machines, this mall needs some renovations, fresh input, and a new marketing pitch and it would be so much better. read more

This mall becomes much less exciting each month. Stores are continuing to close and are being replaced by ones that are more..low end, for lack of a better word. It is now like a huge teen hangout with teenyboppers everywhere, which may leave you with an unpleasant and rude experience. There aren't many good stores left in my opinion, but still okay for certain ones that you may like to visit occasionally. I will no longer be going to "kill time", but only with a specific reason or thing to buy. MacArthur Mall in Norfolk is much better in every sense. Cleaner and a lot more selection. read more

I stopped by Greenbrier Mall to do some shopping on Sunday.The mall is clean and well maintained. I always appreciate a clean mall. Most of the department stores in the mall are huge (Macy's, Dillard's, and JC Penny's).It took me a while to browse through the entire Macy's. There's a decent selection of stores to fulfill your shopping needs. The food court has some good options as well. Greenbrier mall atmosphere was laid back. Unlike the malls in Richmond, Greenbrier closes at 5:30pm on Sundays (6:00pm in Richmond). I give Greenbrier Mall a 3.5 rating. read more

Clean, good food court and a decent variety of stores. We enjoy shopping and eating, at this mall! We often visit just to walk around or see the puppies in the pet store. The mall is within walking distance from our home, but drivers won't have a problem finding parking. The lots are large and well lit. Nice place! read more

Greenbrier mall is the closest to my house, so I usually stop by here before venturing out to other malls in the area such as MacArthur or Lynnhaven. Greenbrier usually has what I need or am looking for, with the exception of a few stores that are only offered at other malls such as Forever 21. I like coming out to this mall versus other malls when there is a store sale because it is less crowded and offers the same items and sales! This is one of the only malls that offers a Sears as well. Stores here change often, so one day you can walk in and see the Hallmark store, then the next time you visit it is gone! (which is what happened to me). Overall, it is a pretty good mall although I prefer going to MacArthur which is a bit cleaner and offers more of what I am looking for. read more

What an absolute crap hole of a mall! I just went today with my husband a toddler to walk around and get some lunch, etc. on a random weekday we had off together. So granted, it was a bit of a ghost town since it's a Wednesday. But, the elevator is out of order. There is another elevator down a long weird hallways of back foods to some of the stores so we went that way since we had a stroller. I'm pretty sure that elevator was in one of the Saw movies. It's missing half the floor and the other half is particleboard. It was super sketchy. Taking it took us to the second level but you have to go down a long hallway of particleboard and more back doors. This hallway is clearly not intended for shoppers. It's a behind the scenes employees only area. There was someone pushing a flatbed of merchandise. I had to ask which way went back into the mall. I seriously felt like I was going to get mugged back there. How is that an acceptable backup elevator for patrons? There is a "play are" for children at the end of the food court. What a friggin joke. It's like a random wall of booths that aren't closed in and one random thing in the middle to climb on. I'm surprised there's not just a toy box full of plastic utensils from the food court in there for them to play with. The play area at Lynnhaven is nice. Theirs is all closed in with cubbies for shoes and a few fun things for kids to run around and climb on but this was pathetic. Then we decided to hit the pet store to look at the puppies. Pet store puppies make me sad but I always like to go look at them anyway. They were all asleep. Could be a coincidence that it was just nap time I guess, but it seemed sketchy like maybe they were drugged up or something. I peeked in at a sheltie that was asleep and noticed it had eye crusties, some scabs, and missing a couple bits of fur on its face. Poor little guy is clearly suffering from some kind of skin condition and yet there he is just hanging out in a store for sale like all is well. Upper respiratory infections are common in pet store puppies, but not flaky skin and missing fur. And a mall that allows that happening under its roof is not one that will earn my patronage! If sketchy elevators and potential animal neglect doesn't bother you though there were a few nice stores I was surprised to see. But Lynnhaven is definitely better. They have a pet store in there too, but I've never seen them in there looking drugged or sick. read more

Greenbrier Mall is a decent little mall. It has all your popular stores such as finishline, footlocker, express, Victoria secret ect.... If your looking for a particular item that is selling out at other mall stores this place is a secret gem. People often overlook or forget about this mall. There is never a huge crowd and the mall is usually quite. Food court is basic but like I said its a slow pace mall. Good mall for quite shopping and nice walking. read more

I gave it four because it is a clean mall with decent security so it feels safe. They also have a wonferful asian spot to get terryioki and rice. Trust me you will notice because there is always a long line there. I dont like that they dont have a play place for my little one. I also dont like how i dont think i have ever found clothes that i like here. They have a macys which i shop at frequently but they dont have other stores that i like to shop at like mens warehouse. sadly for me greenbrier mall is slowly turning into another military circle it like a mall that doesnt really offer much to choose from besides the food court. i remember a time when greenbrier had much to offer but since my last visit it seems clear that the only things holding this mall together are the large name department stores. i really cant put my finger on what this mall needs to make it thrive again. back in my day lol going to the mall was the thing and place to be. they have a good selection of stores like h&m, NY&C, and express but it still seems like the mall is missing an it factor idk but i came here during a week day so maybe it was just the hours i went made the mall seem like a ghost town. most of my favorite stores are in this mall. ever since i could remember greenbrier has had that weird end of the mall where stores are never located (on the first floor past bath and body works...like im scared to walk that way) but that lil weird empty corner is there lol. auntie annes pretzels. thats what this mall is missing lol it just came to me. when i was here there was another pretzel shop but that i think went out of business. but every great mall must include a pretzel place or can you really call it a mall? i mean really ? But with out the pretzel i was still able to do some shopping from the stores that were available. one thing that i like about greenbrier is that they have multiple shoes stores especially if you're a sneaker head / sneaker lover such as myself. i will point that out about this location so thats always a plus. read more

It is my favorite mall in the entire Hampton Roads. Hands Down. I prefer this over LynnHaven Mall, MacArthur Mall, or any other malls nearby. The atmosphere at Greenbrier Mall is very comfortable and quiet. It is a great place just to stroll on the boring days. It has some decent stores and restaurants and cafes.
