At one point, I simply wanted to check on my daughter and make sure she was okay. Instead of being treated with respect, I was dismissed by a staff member who loudly said, "Somebody come get her," as if I was causing a problem for wanting to see my own child. As a paying parent, I found that incredibly rude and unprofessional. Looking back, if I had seen the condition my daughter was in at that moment, I would have absolutely freaked out. She later came out for her second dance looking completely disheveled, with her hair undone and appearing as though no one had checked on her. We were told the children would be supervised and performance-ready, but that clearly was not the case. What upset me even more was learning that my daughter had asked to use the bathroom and was not taken. She ultimately ended up wetting herself. No one contacted us to let us know, no one explained what happened, and no one communicated with our family. Then, during pickup, my family was told that no one knew where my daughter was. For several terrifying minutes, we genuinely believed our child was missing. We were running around the venue in a panic, only to later find out someone had taken her to the bathroom. A simple conversation could have prevented that fear. The facility itself left much to be desired. The children's bathroom was often dirty, with an old step stool by the sink and oversized containers of dish soap that were difficult for young children to use independently. The recital also raised serious concerns about the overall quality of the program. After spending thousands of dollars on tuition, costumes, recital fees, and private lessons, I expected a higher standard of instruction and professionalism. Watching the adult performances only reinforced my concerns. If I had seen those performances before enrolling, I would have looked elsewhere for dance training. Parents trust dance studios with their children and their hard-earned money. They deserve proper supervision, communication, professionalism, and quality instruction. Unfortunately, after two years at Reveal, that was not my experience, and I cannot recommend this studio to other families.

The CEO did not intervene and remained silent, and the parent of the student involved was not contacted until I addressed the issue myself. This dance studio struggles with communicating what respecting one another or accountability looks like as the unkind child still attends the dance school. It's not a coincidence that a few reviews on here mention the bullying issue and it going unaddressed. This led our family to move to a studio with clearer expectations for respect, accountability, and an age-appropriate classroom structure. Additionally, when families first join the company, new dancers are not allowed to perform during their first year. Parents are told this is because they are new and should observe the more experienced dancers, with the expectation that they will perform in their second year. However, families are still required to attend competitions and pay the associated fees for competitions even though their child does not perform. After doing some research, I learned that spectators are generally not required to pay these types of fees to simply watch competitions. As a result, the policy felt confusing and difficult to understand, especially since families are contributing financially to a competition team their child is part of but does not participate in competition dances during their first year.

The security guard was super nice and informative. I stopped here before my dinner reservation to see if maybe, just maybe the box office would be open before the one hour before the show time frame. Turned out it wasn't. I did need to use the loo so that came in handy and the fans blowing some cool air was refreshing from the hot summer sun. Later that evening I returned w/ my boo to see Broadway Bounty Hunter. Great show by the way. If you can, I'd recommend you snag some tickets and see it for yourself. The entryway housed security, box office, elevator, and after it was set up: a snack stand, souvenir stand, and photo ensemble. Behind all of that was the theatre space. Cool space overall and well designed. I'm not sure if the mezz space is handicapped accessible. We took stairs to the far left of the stage to get to our seats. The railings are a little bit wobbly in some areas, so I wouldn't rest on them with all your weight. They would block your vision if you're shorter than the railing once seated if you're in the front mezz. Rear mezz might have better luck. There's a tech person to the right mezz so it's best not to have interference there. There's a cool video of the sound dudes that I noticed when we were exiting the theatre. It's on the overhang of the mezz in the middle. The sound overall was a tad too loud. Some of the singing was tough to hear/make the words... it helps if you try to follow the performers' lips. The props were simple and worked well with the space, set, and play. I think they used two huge tv screens for the scenery backdrop. I'm curious to find out what other plays and performances they host there and might be back for more!

I purchased my tickets on GROUPON and got such a FABULOUS, almost criminal deal! And the original tickets started at $61!!!! Gotta be kidding me! The play was called "Black Light", and left you with taking a deeper look at your values and the turbulent race relations we are facing in today's society. The playhouse was a typical theatre, the restroom facilities were in the spooky basement (insert wide eyes!) but actually I really don't have anything else to say about this establishment. The classes are given in a very friendly environment setting and students at every level feel very comfortable taking classes at Latinball Room Dance. This experience has help me to step out and go dancing at Salsa clubs and get to know more people in the process. We…read morehad taken our girls there prior to covid and that ownership unfortunately sold to a new owner and to put it simply she is not up to task. There was specific incident that occurred in a class that was handled the wrong way. The adult instructor allowed and indicated to the only two girls "one being my daughter and the other a friend" in the class that they did not have to wear a mask which I am actually fine with considering it is only two girls and an instructor in a large studio. The issue is that the owner decided give a little talk to the children who were instructed by the dance teacher that removal of the mask is okay. So without finding out about whether or not the students decided to not wear a mask or were told not to by the adult she just assumed they took it upon themselves to remove the masks. The owner then decided to lecture me at pick up time about the mask policy. I had one simple question as to who allowed them to remove the mask and the owner only responded with "it is the studio's policy to wear masks in class," which is fine but than why are instructors telling kids to take the mask off if they want? Again, I could care less about the mask on or off. More concerned about the lack of management understanding a situation and placing blame on an 8 and 9 year old. And the icing on the cake is to than come out and lecture the parent. The other issue that day is that my daughter had come in the wrong attire "gray stretch pants instead of black and her hair was not tied up as required." My daughter takes some of the blame if not all because she should know and was told as such by me after the fact. As her dad I was not on the up and up about the strict dance gallery attire I assumed she would know and follow rules. The same day incident was handled again oddly by ownership sending a stern email to Parents in addition to a talking to after class. Quiet frankly the studio is not the same and enrollment is very weak due to obvious reasons. We had been charged 1100 dollars on Nov 22nd 2021 and this took place Nov 30th one week later. I told the owner that day my daughters are no longer coming here and I want a refund. Keep in mind the 1100 dollar charge is for December through feb 2022. So maybe this class counted towards 1100 dollar charge . If so one class used out of 1100 dollars. Dance gallery is refusing to give a refund. The owner of the studio is basically only concerned about money and I want people to be aware of that fact before you enroll your child or children like We had done. We tried to give this dance studio a chance considering the long standing relationship we had prior to the new owner but she is just not a good person and focused only on her bottom line. If I could give no stars I would. If some had paid in full for services not rendered yet and wanted a refund because they decided it was not the right fit at my business- guess what I do the right thing and refund over a thousand dollar to the client. The fact is this owner is desperate for money or just greedy.

This place is what dancing should be all about. They teach little girls from age 3 up to adults. Miss Stephanie, the studio's Director, is a professionally trained dancer with a gift for teaching and encouraging. She's simply wonderful. The studio is brand new, with real floating wood dance floors, and classes are small enough to allow for individualized mentoring. This is a long, long overdue review so what I'm about to write may no longer apply…read more.. Anyway, way back in the day I was REALLY into salsa. This would have been in the timeframe of 2007-2010 perhaps... I had already taken classes at lots of other dance schools in Manhattan. I would say I was at a high intermediate level. I took my dancing very seriously, and I was more inclined to like the 'dancer's dancer' type studios....where it was all about carrying oneself like a professionally trained dancer. Eventually, of course, Santo Rico came onto my radar and I decided one day to brave it, and go for a group lesson there, all on my own. Now I'd already heard this would be a 'tough school', but....I was so not prepared for what I encountered. Perhaps I should first say that I already knew that the NYC ON-2 scene could be extremely competitive. I'd attended classes and socials at all the usual places...Carlos... Jimmy...Joe...Frankie....YSBD, etc., and had a few privates with Magna, Griselle, etc. When I first walked into Santo Rico, I naturally saw a bunch of other dancers in the studio who'd either just finished a class or were there for the next class. You could have cut the tension with a knife. (Or was I simply projecting, based upon what I'd already heard about this place??) Anyway, when it was time, I joined my group lesson. I recall the group was on the smaller side...there were maybe just six or so women and a more or less equal number of men. The teacher was a young latin male....perhaps in his late 20s at the time? As they say, a female salsa dancer is only as good as her lead. ;-) The man is supposed to give clear cues, and the woman is supposed to know how to interpret them. Up until this point, I normally had never had problems in group classes. But with this instructor, when it came time for us to rotate partners, and HE became my partner, it seemed that during our routine practice, I didn't 'interpret' a cue that he'd given me, 'correctly'. Most would say that HE was in the wrong...that he must not be a very good lead. But he, being the very small-minded man that he apparently was, actually 'yelled' at me, saying something like 'why did you do that....I didn't want you to turn!' (or something like that). I was so embarrassed and shocked that...I probably just blurted out something like '...I thought that's what you wanted me to do...'. In retrospect, his behavior was brutish, inappropriate and uncalled for. I, being so immersed in the NYC salsa scene at that time, however, allowed myself to feel embarrassed... as if maybe I DID do something wrong. But in fact, that's why we supposedly attend such schools...to LEARN. And I mean, it WAS my first time there, as this instructor full well knew. I understand that Santo Rico is all about creating the best of the best salsa dancers...that it's all about precision...and that their female dancers can spin on a dime. (It was their 'gangster' video from around 2008 or so, that inspired me to want to train there.) But, you can still try to create an atmosphere of excellence without having to be mean and embarrassing students. My experience there was such that I had no desire to return.
