The day of my appointment, I was called and asked to move my time earlier due to a cancellation, which felt like it was done to consolidate appointments. From the start, the experience went downhill. The therapist asked which areas I wanted to focus on, and I clearly said shoulders, low back, and hips. She never touched my low back or hips at all. Instead, about 30 minutes of the session was spent lightly rubbing my palms and feet, not massaging. The pressure was extremely light throughout, more like oil being spread than any form of therapeutic work. At no point did she check in about pressure. About halfway through, I realized it wasn't going to improve, so I asked her to increase the pressure. She didn't respond. When I looked up, I saw she had earphones in. I had to ask again. She acknowledged me, but nothing changed. Throughout the massage, she was yawning, disengaged, and made it very clear she did not want to be there. It honestly felt like my appointment was an inconvenience. When she pulled the sheet from under my arms, she yanked it hard enough to cause a friction burn. I said "ow," and she proceeded to do the same thing on the other side. We paid over $125 to essentially have massage oil rubbed on me for an hour, without receiving the service that was booked or communicated. I left the appointment in tears. To make matters worse, when I went to check out, there was no one at the desk. I had to wait for someone to come back from getting coffee, only to be told I was "good to go" and didn't need to wait. No one asked how my appointment was or acknowledged the experience at all. This was meant to be a relaxing gift and turned into a genuinely upsetting experience. I would not recommend this place based on my visit.

Their website for booking was clear and had great options to choose from. My massage therapist was very nice and checked on me throughout the service to ensure my needs were met. I'm typically use to a different type of massage but she did a great job. Typically I like to do my gratuity separately in cash and I typically give 20%. There was already 22% applied to my bill. I do not like this and therefore, I am taking away one star. What if I didn't like my service? Or like today, wanted to pay in cash. This does not give me that flexibility and I didnt like that it wasn't listed anywhere on the waivers since I booked in person. This should be told upfront to customers so they aren't surprised. I typically go to the spa monthly at home, and I'm always given the option to leave a tip in an envelope or charge to my card. It's always optional and convenient. I probably would not go again, but the experience overall was good.

The float meditation features complimentary bubbles, heated eye mask, a blank, headphones and a guide meditation you can download on your phone. The session isn't available at the time of this review by I highly recommend checking this experience out when it becomes available again. Service appointments and special events can be booked online., All in all R+R is the perfect spot for a little Nashville daycation.

The tub is huge, big enough for two. I loved the sea salt accompaniment and kept sprinkling them in like an Italian chef with pasta water. The shower amenities are lovely and the body oil after was divine and made me feel like a rich hippy woman from Seattle who presses her own lavender oil, which is not a alter ego I slip into often but thoroughly enjoyed for an evening. We left clean, relaxed, and didn't fight once the whole time. If you know us you know what a win that is! The spa is smaller in size compared to others hotel spas in Nashville but the amenities and services certainly make up for that. Upon arrival I was greeted by a lovely young lady who promptly checked me in and then escorted me to the waiting area. After a short wait I was given a tour of the facilities and assigned a locker with a robe and slippers. A few things that I loved about the spa were the relaxation area where you could actually relax because guests were mindful of spa etiquette, that's a HUGE plus for me and something that's hard to find in downtown Nashville. It's important that a spa maintains a peaceful environment and Rose does that well. Another highlight was the attentiveness of the spa attendants. They did an exceptional job making sure everything was well stocked, clean and tidy. After relaxing for a while I decided to try out the steam room and then the experimental shower which has sensory settings that make you feel like you're taking a shower in the middle of a tropical rainforest. Next up was my mani and pedi and it didn't disappoint. It was pretty standard but well done and enjoyable. Overall I enjoyed my visit and would definitely return. I would recommend booking an early morning appointment to avoid the crowds and arrive an hour before your appointment to take full advantage of the amenities.

Thank you so much to her for not only the way she made my skin look and feel but also for the outstanding service and experience that she gave me **5 STARS** Unfortunately, this experience has been entirely overshadowed by the lack of professionalism and customer service as conducted and displayed by the Spa Manager named LAUREN. I went to Rose Spa because I received a gift card for my birthday which had an amount of $230 to cover the cost of a custom facial I was seeking, so I was only going to be paying out of pocket what was a difference of $25 due to an extra tip I left for Blythe. Upon checking out, the employee at the desk who was helping me said she could not get the gift card to swipe for some reason and would need her manager, Lauren, to complete the process and that she would then reach out to me to let me know once it was done and completed. Instead, the next day I learned that Lauren took it upon herself to charge the full amount of the service which was $255 to my credit card on file that was originally put down because a gift card couldn't be put down at the time of booking and scheduling the appointment. I went to the Spa and spoke to Lauren in person to find out why this was in which she told me that the gift card was not active and was unusable even though it was paid for and purchased by a guest of the Joseph Hotel DIRECTLY from the Rose Spa and the employee standing right beside Lauren at the time of this conversation even recalled that exact purchase of the gift card because of the fact that the person who bought it described who it was for etc. On top of that Lauren then told me she THREW AWAY the gift card which is highly inappropriate, odd, and concerning simply because if it was not active then I should have not only been notified but it should have been RETURNED to me as the owner of said gift card who it was given to directly by a PAYING GUEST who also is deserving to be privy to the fact that something they purchased and spent a lot of money on was not in fact any good for no reason to blame other than the BUSINESS, otherwise this amounts to nothing other than theft. Throwing away the gift card that a guest purchased for the purpose to be spent solely in the business in which it was purchased from is literally throwing away the very real money that the hotel received but was taken from the customer, whom in this case was also a guest of the hotel, to buy said item. This is sketchy for obvious reasons and looks like there is something to hide and ultimately if given the gift card back and making me aware of this before not only charging my card but then THROWING AWAY the gift card, I could have used the physical gift card to pursue on my own as to why it was, as Lauren claims "inactive" even though it was in fact paid for and received from Rose Spa. Because Lauren was no help at all and failed to act in a resolution-oriented way I have since had to go through my own channels to see how to best rectify this situation of theft. I think The Joseph Hotel, or any future employer, should strongly consider Lauren's ability to effectively operate like a manager, as she should receive extensive and thorough training in order to be a better fit for the role that she holds. This is not how you handle customer service or care, especially when it's claimed to be luxury. Do better Lauren.

This was my first experience at any kind of day spa/waxing service. I made a reservation online with my friend for two waxes the week before. Within a couple of days, a lady named Robin, I believe, called me and wanted me to confirm my reservation. We went there the next week for our appointment, and the place was nicely decorated, calming, and serene. Robin was very welcoming with her smile. There was one aestician there that afternooon. Her name escapes me at the moment. We walked to the back. My friend went first and I waited in the waiting room for about 25 minutes. When it was my turn, the aestician led me to the room. She was excellent. She made sure that I wasn't nervous. She talked to me throughout the whole thing. I'm sure she's used to it and making conversation, but I'm glad she was! She had a very chill personality and we talked about a range of topics. Although I've only been once because waxing is expensive ($80), I was very impressed and pleased with their services. Go Apropos! (I like saying their name.)
