I also found Concord messed up when our HOA had them do work around my unit and they threw out a couple hundred dollars of my patio stones and when I tried to follow up about getting reimbursed again it was total silence.

He came by, and I gave him an overview of what my condo was looking to achieve. Our front garden was a mess with weeds growing as tall as me. We also had weeds growing along our back yard fence line and a garden where my previous neighbors were planting flowers. The rear garden bed was filled with rocks too. Aroldo advised that his team can remove all of the weeds in the 3 locations, put down fertilizer and mulch and even a cloth to prevent weeds from coming back. He also indicated that he can use the rocks to create a barrier of the garden beds in the front and back. He provided some options, but we ultimately decided on the basic package. He even agreed to transfer flowers over from the back to the front, and promised to remove some branches on the side of the house that was blocking the pathway. His team came and did a fantastic job. My condo neighbors, my wife, and I are so happy with the job that Aroldo's team has done. We have nothing but great praises. We look forward to hiring him again in the future.

After several attempts to just hire Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction (during a bid process),…read moreI finally did. The rates seemed comparable, at first. However, there were many projects to be completed at my deceased mother's house. Because I am disabled and not able to get to the property, I couldn't see how badly I was taken advantage of. Not only did I pay for a job they did not do, I also paid for another job that is unfinished, plus a french drain that is causing a sink hole, and the buried equipment is now above ground. All 3 of these projects pose safety risks. The french drain collapse is only 6 months after installation. After bringing these issues to the owners attention (the unfinished project I'd requested be completed for months), the owner began ignoring me. When I mentioned that litigation was going to move forward, the owner said he'd look at the work that week then blew me off again. When they actually do work, Golden Hill's quality of work is atrocious and will need to be fixed. They broke the house vinyl siding when cutting down a tree branch and refused to fix it. I hired a contractor to fix that. They will overcharge (snowplowing is expensive), take advantage of you if you are a senior or disabled, and will try to get paid without working. They should not be in business and allowed to take advantage. I now have to pay someone else to fix their work, finish their work, and do a $375 job they never did. They've been paid over $10,000, with more work to be done at multiple properties. They agreed to do a quote at a second property, then never showed up. One would figure, with that kind if business, a company would want to perform quality work and respond to a dedicated customer. Aroldo at Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction will do a poor job or not at all, blow off appointments, ignore requests, and refuse to fix problems. He will, however, not hesitate to pick up a check. You should not ever hire them. If you do, be prepared to throw money away.

Renato and his crew came out to do a small job, installing a new paver walkway and properly edging…read morea pre-existing walkway that was installed incorrectly by the original builder. While discussing the job with Renato he noted that the original builder had also installed one paver that was a different color than the others and offered to fix it while they re-did the edging (great!). Towards the end of the job I went out to take a look and noticed that the crew had incorrectly installed the edging pavers in an intermediate section of the walkway. Once informed they remediated the issue (again, great!). However, it appears as though when they did so, they accidentally reinstalled the mis-colored paver. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until the next day because they had to soak the entire walkway with water in order for the crushed stone to set, and so all of the pavers were wet and dark. Mistakes happen, I get it. But the reason for the 2 star review isn't that the mistake was made - it was how it was how Renato handled it (or didn't). Over the ensuing three weeks I texted Renato on three different occasions about the issue, asking him to have a crew return and resolve it. He didn't respond to any of my messages. Unfortunately my experience was similar to one of the other reviewers - the quality of the work was good, but the service provided when confronted with a quality issue was nonexistent.

The takeaway is this: I paid over $7K for a no frills walkway and in under a year grass is growing through in a dozen spots. Renato first said he would come and make necessary repairs. Then stopped taking my calls. Ive called from other phones to get through and he blames the poor quality of his work on the manufacturer of the sand his company uses. Said I'm not covered under his warranty I would never go with this company again. Renato is a liar and the quality of his work is not commensurate with the costs

They levelled our small front yard and built a stone wall in the front and continued it on the side of the house. They also redid the walkway, steps and put in a new fence. They responded quickly to our inquiry, scheduled the job fairly quickly and then worked long hours to get it done for us. Their pricing was excellent- we had several bids- and the work was fabulous. We chose one kind of stone but then took their advice about what would look best and were so glad! Our house was completely transformed. People in the neighborhood are constantly stopping to tell us how great the house looks. Arturo and Fausto and their entire crew are also such nice people! It was a pleasure working with them. They were so kind in terms of making scheduling changes because of our needs. Also, the latch on the fence wasn't working properly. I reached out to them and they came that morning to fix it.
