I'm very grateful to Lynch. During a wind storm on Friday, an 80-foot pine broke but didn't come down; instead, it was leaning against another 80-foot pine that had cracked from the weight. Both trees were about 20 feet from our house. I called Lynch in a panic and their response was wonderful & immediate. Dave took my call right away & was at my property within 30 min to assess the damage. Even though it was late on a Friday, he arranged for a crew to show up with a crane to make sure that the situation was secured by removing most of the trees without delay. They worked well into the evening, in the dark, to make sure my house & family were safe. Dave was wonderful, he made a quick assessment and then met with us to explain the risks, tell us about our options and answer our questions. He provided us with updates throughout the afternoon/evening & made sure to let me know status and next steps before he signed off for the night. The Lynch team came back first thing Monday morning and performed a terrific clean up, even getting up on my roof to remove some branches. The whole job (including the responsiveness & customer care) was awesome and I would recommend Lynch to anyone who needs help in an emergency or just an every day situation. read more

I originally wrote a negative review as follows: "They never came out to do the job! They came and provided a quote, and I agreed to do a portion of the job. They promised to do the work "by the end of next week". Despite multiple calls over several weeks, they just never got back to me. Maybe they only care about large-scale projects, which would be fine; but they should have the courtesy of simply refusing the job." Upon seeing this review, management called me to apologize. So, I have updated my review to reflect the fact that they cared enough about their reputation to contact me. I anticipate that I will call them the next time I have landscaping needs. read more

I recently moved to Sudbury and was referred by several neighbors to Lynch for my landscaping needs. I was quite impressed that they offer most if not all landscaping services. I was able to have my lawn renovated, irrigation system installed and have some trees removed by making one phone call! The office staff is very polite and they actually answer their phone unlike other companies where you will call and never hear back. I worked with several of their employees over the course of the spring and summer and found them all to be knowledgeable, helpful and willing to go the extra step. I had a large willow tree fall down during a storm. I called Lynch for an estimate as I've had work done by them in the past and have been satisfied. After not hearing back from them in a week, I called back and the girl said oh, it's too far to come out to your house. They had come out here before without any problems and they received prompt payment. What I find most upsetting is that they just left me hanging. It would be a good business practice to have the common courtesy to call me back and tell me they didn't want to come out. I'm very disappointed. read more

We needed a large tree taken down so requested estimates from a number of different services. The person sent by Lynch, Michael Hetzl, was very professional, articulate and courteous -- he answered all our questions in a way that indicated genuine interest in our concerns. We chose Lynch because the estimate was very reasonable and we felt that Michael cared about the job. Everything unfolded very smoothly -- a large crew came with multiple major pieces of equipment, navigated many obstacles smoothly (including electrical wires), worked efficiently and within 2.5 hrs finished the job, exited the area and cleaned up behind themselves. Their white glove service and commitment to client care is best in class. Owner Mike Lynch takes a personal interest in his clients and is backed by an experienced team of professionals that delivers again and again. Over the years Lynch took care of our lawn, garden and property needs: from lawn installation, fertilizer and maintenance to the episodic events of Spring and Fall clean ups & winter snow removal. Last year ahead of putting my Sudbury house on the market, I asked Lynch to edge all the beds, complete a detailed weeding of the gardens [the way his guys pruned and coiffed my White Deutzias was masterful!] and apply a thick, generous layer of dark mulch. The property looked like a million bucks, as evidenced when a neighbor remarked, "you're either about to move or are having a wedding!" When our home hit MLS on a sunny day in May, we had a steady stream of cars drive by that evening and received 10 calls for showings the next day. I called Quentin in the office and asked if there was any way he could get the crew out to my house first thing in the morning. I awoke the next day to the sounds of mowers and was greeted by the gentle breeze of freshly cut grass rising up to my bedroom window. Within 24 hours we'd received 4 offers and accepted one above asking price. There is no doubt that the curb appeal and beauty Lynch Landscaping delivered to my property played a key role in that outcome. Unreliable and poor work when they finally show up to do the work. The fall cleanup was a disaster (they dumped all the leaves in the woods and on the federal land behind my house) and the edging work that they did was incompetent. They returned on more than 4 occasions at their whim (for which they billed me) and made it worse not better. They had no business claiming they could do the work and it showed. They charged way over what the estimate was and finally I told them to stop coming they only made it worse. After seeing my yard and experiencing what I did first hand no one in the neighborhood uses them any more. Lynch is extremely expensive and the quality of the work does not warrant the price. They got too big too fast and the quality is not there. There are many other quality outfits to use in Sudbury, Wayland and Concord like Twin Pines, Andy Craig, Andrew Holland, RNH Landscape, DaCosta Landscaping, Dooling Lanscaping and Sudbury Design Group which is expensive and worth every penny. Stay away from Lynch and use Manning or Stumpy's for tree work since they show up on time and don't leave the stumps. read more

They did a great job and everyone I spoke with was very knowledgeable and friendly. We're very happy with how everything turned out. I found Lynch Landscaping through Angie's List a couple of years ago. We used them for a major multi-tree removal and could not have been happier with that project from start to finish. They did a pro job on it & gave us a fair price to boot. This year we had to call on them to do our spring cleanup, a task that usually I love to do but for misc reasons this year could not. We received a timely email estimate and all of of questions were promptly answered. Our yard is an acre, with the back 5th of it being a major composting area for leaves. Our property has tons of nooks and crannies for leaves and debris to collect, making it not the easiest project. The team showed up at 9 am & worked diligently in a light cold April rain for almost 4 hours. When I pointed out some branches that I thought we had discussed taking away no one even questioned it or did the "let me ask my boss' thing. With a good attitude they removed the branches and cleaned up after themselves. I felt we paid a fair price for spring clean up & gutter cleaning. My yard looks spiffy & ready for spring. I plan on using Lynch for all of our future projects. I love that they are local, too. read more

Lynch Landscaping just did a job for us yesterday. We were thrilled with the outcome. They worked with my husband to come up with a price that would work for us after a very large pool installation. We needed an area cleaned and ready to plant. The outcome was exactly what we hoped for. They also ground down a few stumps. My husband forgot to mention to them that we would like to also have them grind down the large root that was near one of the stumps, well, they saw it and removed it. Great service, very neat! I have only used Lynch for tree work and not landscaping. They are nice guys, efficient workers and clean up the site well upon completion. Did everything they were asked to do but my only caution is they are pricey. We did use Lynch but ( I found this out afterwards) their prices were about 20-25% higher then companies such as Stumpy and Rustys tree services. In the future due to price I'll try one of the other services ( who I'm told by neighbors do a good job) for my tree work. read more

Lynch was doing tee work in my neighborhood. I asked, and they happily dumped the wood chips in my driveway. The driver was respectful - kept the driveway neat, avoided the grass, made sure we still had garage access and room to park cars. Not sure why anyone in their right mind would ever use this company. This company has harassed me for 2 years. They keep sending me someone else's invoices, I've called them MULTIPLE times and every time they will say "they will take care of it". I've gotten 2 small claims court notices (not in my name, but my address) which again, I've told them, I have no clue who the person they are looking for is. True confession: I am a commercial property manager by trade. I'd like to think this helps me to communicate clearly with contractors/vendors/landscapers, and leads to a better finished product. My wife would tell you my profession makes me demanding and sometimes a bit difficult when things aren't done the way I think they should be. We recently moved to the Metro-West area and were in serious need of landscaping help. The Lynch Office team was very responsive both with e-mail and phone calls, and efficient in scheduling a time for me to meet one of their project managers. I met their project manager, Clif, and knew immediately that he "got it." We primarily needed a Spring cleaning and mulch in very neglected beds, and were interested in removing some dead-wood trees. As we walked the property Clif explained some of the other things we were concerned about (hydro-seeding takes a few years to take hold as a full lawn, a tree we thought had issues was okay, etc.), and suggested ways we could save money and still make our house look great. I was anxious to get their proposal, as I know what high end contractor service looks/feels like, and really wanted to work with the Lynch team. I was impressed once again when the proposal came in and was very reasonable for the amount of work we were looking to complete. I was hoping to have the work done ASAP, and again Clif came through. He had his team address the whole job before Memorial Day weekend when we will have family coming to the house for the first time (a big step for first time home buyers). A few questions/concerns came up while the work was being completed, and Clif and Alan (the foreman) were amazing about immediately addressing them without hesitation. Not only did they manage my comments well, but also followed up with me about their solution once it was completed. This approach embodies strong team management and client satisfaction! As we live into our new home, I will look forward to the opportunity to work with Clif and his team again and again! **Separate Note** I also appreciate that the team comments and follows through on some of the less satisfied reviewers on Yelp. After hurricane sandy I called lynch landscaping right away and they came that day to give me a estimate, I had to wait a few days for insurance to take picture before the Douglas fur tree could be removed, after I got a quote back I called to set up a appointment to remove the tree not knowing the insurance company had contacted another company to remove the tree. Lynch handled the situation in a calm and perfesonal matter. I have used this company for 3 years and have only this year used the plow services. The rest of the company is excluded in this review. The plow pushed all the snow against and on all burlaped trees with 2 of the Cryptomeria Japonica (Rein's Dense Jade $300 trees) completely buried. I took pictures of them and sent before and after shots after digging them out. One was completely buried with only a piece of burlap on top to show its location. It currently has browning at the base and the other is sheared on top of one side and leaning. I never heard back by email, phone or otherwise, with no apology or offer to reduce bill of $827 (4 plow 2 rake services). I called an left messages for him with no response and recently called and put in a heated call hoping finally for a response. Also, they billed me 3 months after the fact, and then say it's past due even though there have been no previous bills. When asked the girl said they are sent out automatically every month. I said I can believe one going missing, but not 3. She had no record of them actually going out. Best is the tree guy Chris Worsted. read more
