I had a major drainage problem in the front yard and needed to have some drainage and leveling issues resolved. I saw Siegel's on line advertisement and was impressed with there claim to be able to complete in one day (not true) and with the owners commitment to stand by his work (again, sooooo not true). Siegel salesman "Paul" gave me a quote in writing and I stated I needed a few extra things done such as additional leveling and grass planting. "No Problem" says Paul and I signed the contract and gave them a down payment. Work was completed over a few days and this was due to weather conditions. First, I paid extra to have additional grass and fill put on the lawn, this was not completely done and Paul kept telling me that he was sorry but he measured incorrectly and they used more fill than they anticipated and I could pay more if I wanted more. They kept telling me what a favor they were doing me even though they DID NOT complete per our contract. Over the next few weeks it rained and I thought this a good opportunity to evaluate their work. All previous pools of water were still there!!!!! $4000, my lawn is ripped up and still no drainage!! I called and emailed the owner Bill. After about 3 weeks he finally called me back. He promised he would personally go out and look at it. I asked him to bring out a coffee can full of the same grass seed to fill in all the patch areas ( they never went back to check on the re-growth of the grass) Bottom line ~ Bill never showed, it is now 3 weeks after that call and I have called and emailed him again with zero response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I SPENT $4000 AND THIS HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST HEADACHE OF MY LIFE, AND TO TOP IT OFF I STILL HAVE DRAINAGE PROBLEMS!!!!

They tore up my lawn installing an irrigation system that never worked properly--unless you count watering the sidewalk. When I raised concerns, I was told the problem was my low water pressure. They planted things I specifically said I didn't want, expanded flower beds far beyond what I had requested, and when I asked them to round out a bed and plant grass, I ended up with even more mulch. It wasn't what I wanted, and it certainly wasn't attractive. To make matters worse, when plants died, customer service blamed me and told me to sue them because they wouldn't replace them. So, would I hire this company again? Absolutely not. Save yourself the headache, the expense, and the disappointment. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

My lawn was very uneven and there were holes from the dogs digging, as well as bare spots from where an old patio was, so it needed some serious overhaul. Sod was my best option and they explained the process very well. I did tell them that I needed a few days notice before installing, but they did not give me one, just showed up and said it was the day, which is one reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. They did great work and worked late into the evening to finish in one day. I am very happy with the results, and they did send me a watering schedule for the sod as it has to be watered a lot at the start. They also came back to check on the progress a few days later. They did tell me I need to spread Grub X to get rid of the grubs that kill grass, but I am still waiting to hear from the owner on when it can be spread due to the restrictions the sod has early on. It's been a couple weeks from when they placed the sod and told me about it and another reason 4 instead of 5 stars.

I got quotes from THREE different services before finding Pauley's, and I'm glad I found them! One of our larger trees was growing inside our playground, making for a challenging job. One of the other guys quoted a ridiculously high amount, and wanted me to take apart and move parts of our playground -- he also increased the quote when he came back to look a 2nd time, and changed the scope of what he'd do. The 2nd guy also quoted very high and was concerned about the playground. Kevin and his partner worked together well, and took care of my trees carefully, causing *no* damage to our playground -- they were pleasant to work with, offered options to work within our budget (e.g. we chose not to have full clean-up), and came back each day to make sure the job got completed. It got COLD and even snowed a bit -- didn't stop them at all! Truth: the "partner" was Kevin's wife, and it was a joy watching them work together, carefully roping the chunks down to avoid any damage. If you like working with down-to-earth, real people, with experience to get the job done, and at a fair & reasonable price, I recommend giving Pauley's Tree Service a call!
