This is more so a general review than a review about a recent experience. 1) Reception The receptionists are nice, but if you have a balance of any kind, just say you know and move on, because I asked one time and they let me know the total -- but they said it loudly enough that the rest of the waiting room could hear it too. Embarrassing to say the least. If you call them, they're nice too, but often they'll hang up immediately after you're done, no time for pleasantries. 2) Nurses The nurses here are and have always been phenomenal. Shoutout to Porsha especially, as she always greets us with a smile and takes great care of my partner and I's daughter. 3) Doctors We've met with a few of the pediatricians here, and our standard pediatrician, Dr. Brian Dudgeon, is the best out of all of them. He was actually my partner's pediatrician when she was born (his first patient) so having that level of connection is amazing. He'll take the time with you to explain what's going on, what he believes will fix it, and proceed cautiously through there. 4) Overall: I would highly recommend Greenvale Pediatrics - Hoover. The benefits fully outweigh the negatives of visiting, and if you can get seen by Dr. Dudgeon, I fully, fully recommend it! read more

Really great and caring doctors. Only problem is that if it's a weekend they won't see your child. Say you have to go to an urgent care. Even though the nurse could have made an appointment for him per the receptionist. So only have sick kids Monday through Friday and it's a five star place. read more

Initially, I had a bad experience about four years ago with the reception staff. Honestly, I don't quite even remember that interaction - as every interaction I've had with them so far has been amazing. They are efficient and very helpful when it comes to sick or well visits. While no one usually likes to go to the doctor- my 12 year old loves to visit her doctor. Dr Anderson is the best and we love him. When you call they are always able to get you in that day and quickly! Today was a Sunday and we were in and out fast. Of course on the weekends you don't always get your doctor but all of the pediatricians are great so seeing Dr Stone today was almost as good as seeing Dr Anderson- almost. read more

Can anyone at this location pick up a phone? I've called 3 separate times and been on hold for over an hour waiting for someone to answer so I can schedule an appointment for my oldest son. Also the patient portal is garbage. You can't schedule an appointment because the drop down menu saying reason for visit doesn't have any options, so you can't get an appointment online either. Also I checked our upcoming appointments on the patient portal and it says there are none even though I confirmed a well check for both my boys on the way out with the receptionist. Finally if I am nicer as a customer than the glaring eyes and snippy tone I meet behind the counter checking us in, I'm out. Your doctors may be great but if I can't get an appointment and I'm made to feel inferior when I take my kid to an appointment I can find an equally awesome doctor probably closer to my house. Greenvale came recommended to me by a friend. Im a first time mom and will be having my baby in 1 month so I called this location to set up a consultation with a doctor. I told the receptionist my reason for calling and she very flatly responds by saying "we don't do that". I then had to ask her to explain how the process works as she had no intention of offering the information to me herself. Not a good start if you're trying to gain clients. I would like to suggest you maybe consider having a kinder receptionist who's willing to help answer questions for new moms. read more

I don't really have much experience with pediatricians, but Dr. Carter at Greenvale Pediatrics has to be one of the best in Birmingham. A close family member who is a nurse and previously worked with Dr. Carter at Children's Hospital referred us to him. He is patient, well educated, and thorough. He takes the time to talk to parents, even when he has a busy schedule. He does his best to explain everything in ways that can be understood by all. He is well educated. He may not be an "old timer" like some people prefer. However, some of us prefer more recent graduates. He really knows his stuff! If you want to go home and fact check his ideas, go for it, its evidence based. He is thorough. He doesn't fly through exams and skip important steps. Some burnt out medical professionals will rush through evaluations because they have a diagnosis already in mind. If you are one of those parents who has spent too much time on Google and think your child has contracted Dengue Fever, he will examine your child and walk you through it, without insulting you. Dr. Carter at Greenvale Pediatrics has to be one of the best in Birmingham. I can't tell you how much copays are at Greenvale Pediatrics. Greenvale Pediatrics has been our go to since 1985 when it was small, personable & caring. At that time the doctor (Cortapassi) would follow up w/a call the evening following a visit to check on our child. Well....those days are GONE. Greenvale has become big, corporate, impersonable & detached from the patient/family. Greenvale follows the money and political directives from political operatives like......Dr. Faucci & big pharma. Dr. STONE (likeable fellow who wears 2 paper mask) believes 3 & 4 year old children should be forced to wear a cloth/paper mask in 3K all day long. This belief appears to be POLITICAL, as it not supported by the AMA or based in fact by any credible study w/a control. We're moving on, Greenvale will not care, they are not interested in us, what we think or what we believe is best for our 3 year old child. Greenvale corporate kool-aid drinkers. read more

Dr. Anderson is by far the best pediatrician I've seen with my daughter. He has been with the practice over 20 years and is very knowledgeable and understanding. He is also very reassuring for parents. We will definitely be staying with Dr. Anderson and Greenvale with our infant. read more

My nurse Molly Coleman is the best nurse ever. She is so kind to me and my family. She gives shots so well the babies don't even cry. I think she deserves a HUGE raise. She never hits the bone except on her son (she does that on purpose). She is just a great person in general. read more

My daughter has a rare vomiting disorder. As a result we've put in enough time, money and resources in Pediatric offices, hospitals and specialists offices over the past few years to last a lifetime. My daughter has a rare vomiting disorder. Finally after years of ER visits, hospitalizations, various procedures, tests and appointments we have a working diagnosis. Throughout the course of identifying her issue we've been through 3 pediatric offices. Finally we've found a Doctor we're confident in. Dan Carter genuinely cares for my child and wants to improve her condition and quality of life. Dr Carter is young and one of the newest members of this practice. He was with Children's Hospital prior to going into private practice. Everyone at Children's raves about him, deservedly so. He was a total rock star at Children's. Bham magazine had him as runner up for best pediatrician, to the retiring founding member of this practice Dr Glasgow. Pretty impressive. This facility is one of the busiest pediatric offices I've ever seen. I don't think the receptionists are rude as some people suggest. I think they're just super busy. I've always had a good relationship with them, but they also know us on sight. To be honest I don't care about the facility or ancillary facility staff. I've found a Dr. that thinks outside the box, explores options, researches her condition and follows up with specialists and ER staff to help my daughter. Whereas other pediatricians, specialists and ER doctors were content with the unknown and taking a reactive approach to treatment Dr. Carter was an advocate for her and took a proactive approach to diagnostics and treatment now working in unison with her new specialist Dr. King in Gardendale. Bottom line Dan Carter is an answered prayer for my family. read more

My son has been a patient here for a year, and we are very happy with the practice. They are really good about getting you a same-day or next day appointment if necessary. Weekend appointments are also available for sick visits, which I really appreciate as we both work full time. We generally see Dr. McCollum, but have seen several other doctors on the weekends. I liked Dr. Carter however, I have had several bad experiences, with the receptions especially April. You will be greeted with rolling eye's or huff. The receptions was very rude and unprofessional to both me and my husband on a few separate occasions. I called and left message with manger to report her and no one returned my call. If you're job is to deal with people you would think one would be caring and professional. Not the case here. I have change doctor office and am very happy. read more
