I wish I could do zero! They are hired and paid to do a good job, but they blow everything in the street that goes down out storm drains. Because our drains get clogged up, it floods our streets, and how many people have died or will die bc of our government not enforcing the city and county ordinance against this behavior. I am a current customer of GreenView Landscaping . i was able to deal with James and arrange the proper payments for labor and materials as the job progressed . The crew is awesome and literally did soil prep for a large lawn , including sprinklers , pavers , patio . they are probably the best crew I have seen in a long time . Not sure about the bad reviews , I have not experienced anything untoward with these guys . I would say ignore any reviews that aren't current and call James if there are concerns , he answered all of my questions and was not defensive. these guys are going to be my go to for several other projects , since i cant get other contractors to even answer the phone or even do any work ... read more

I called Greenview for a very large backyard job. James quickly called me, made an appointment with me but never showed up, and he didn't call either. This is a pet peeve of mine. After reading these reviews Im glad he didn't show up. Also, i would have never paid anybody before the work was done. That is a red flag. After a few years the fence they put up is now falling down due to the didn't put the post in deep enough and little post mix. That's why there were 12 bags of concrete left. And they just left it in my drive way. 3 stars is to good for this company. Actually no rating. read more

Horrible service. This company takes advantage of the elderly (and I imagine others as well). Our elderly neighbor said that she paid this company three months in advance, but that they hadn't even come in over 8 weeks! I called the company for her, and I was told that they had come by in the previous week (but did not state just which day, nor what was supposedly done). I told them that all of the neighbors could see that no yard maintenance had been recently conducted. We had made an appointment with them to plan our backyard project; they never showed up, never returned phone calls, and never called to cancelled or postpone our appointment. We called them and they gave a flimsy excuse. We made another appointment and the very same thing happened. Nice guys, called to fix an irrigation leak. Noted still leaking less than 2 days later, called again, they stated would come out and fix problem. Two weeks later, 5 x's stated they are coming out and rearranged my schedule, no show and still leaking. found greenview landscape on home advisors. They NEVER showed up when they were supposed to, James always had an excuse. Artificial grass was installed---NOT the grade we ordered. Never saw a warranty for the grass (which was promised to us). Cut way to short, used the wrong nails, piled sand on top without spreading. 4 months past and the lawn BLEW away. Informed James about this--- and once again NO satisfaction received. Gave him an option out and he refused to take it----so I filed in court. AND---he was a no show. Presented my case to the Judge and the court agreed with me. I WON. Now, how long will it take to get my money??? I paid this company $5418 to landscape my front and backyard. After that big of an investment I wanted them to do the weekly maintenance so if there were any problems they would know how to fix them. The House is for sale and we live out of town so we wanted someone to keep an eye on the landscaping. After one month I had not received a bill. I called them and told them so they could bill me and to make sure everything was going OK. James, the owner, asked for my email to bill me that way and I still did not receive a bill. After another month I called him again. He did not return my call this time. I had my daughter drive an hour and a half to the property to see if the landscaping had been maintained. Both the front and back lawn were dead. One of the water valves had quit working and two of the sprinklers were bad. No one gave me a courtesy phone call to tell me they were going to stop service. No one tried to solve the problem! When I finally got a hold of the manager, Alex, he told me that he thought it was a water pressure problem and not their problem. He couldn't explain why no one called me to tell me they were going to terminate service. I explained I had given them two courtesy phone calls when they hadn't billed me, which most people wouldn't do. I think I deserved a courtesy phone call telling me they were going to terminate service. The lack of returning a phone call and lack of wanting to solve their own problems makes me not recommend this company. They never once offered to come solve the problem. They just blame the problem on our water pressure and said that they didn't think there was anything they could do. They didn't think the grass was going to come back and they didn't offer to fix that either! Update: The owner named James called me back a few days after I spoke with the manager Alex. I explained to him that problem wasn't our water pressure but that it was a bad valve into Brad splint sprinklers which they installed. He said he wanted us to give it at least a month to see if the grass would come back and that then they would fix it if the grass did not come back. 11-7-17 I called Greenscape landscape today to let them know I have given it more than enough time for the grass to grow back. I explained that the grass has not grown back and that it is all weeds. I told him I was willing to give them the $400 I owed him to help with his cost but that they needed to replace the grass. He said he didn't remember our conversation. He said he didn't remember that he said he would fix the problem if it didn't grow back. He said that he disagrees with me and that he wishes me good luck and then hung up on me. read more

Do not hire this company... They talk a good talk but they sure don't walk it. I had a huge job on my property. And they show up whenever they want to. On this job they show up at 9:00 am and sit in the truck till 10:00 am . Then they start, and leave at 3:00 pm. Do not give James any payment till the project is complete. read more

My friend had a very beautiful peach tree with a branch that broke during a bad storm. She asked this company to TRIM the broken branch and he agreed to do it for $25. After many weeks of waiting for him to do it ( and numerous calls to him) he finally did it. HE CUT THE WHOLE TREE DOWN!!! She came home to nothing but a stump! Since then he had been very rude to her, has not offered to replace the tree, and even slammed a door in her face. I would never recommend this business to anyone. read more

Their service started out well but as time progressed I noticed a stripe of dead grass in the back yard which due to being in a wheelchair for mobility I could not check closer. I also saw dead strip in the front yard. On a closer view of these dead areas I saw that the men mowing and taking care of our lawn had redefined the limits of their view of our lawn's borders and did not mow the entire lawn. This was not what I had agreed to and my Wife had been complaining about the work performed so I called James and canceled our agreement. read more

I fired them. I do not recommend them at all. If you do hire them, lock up your stuff. They didn't remove leaves either, they blew them down near our above ground pool. Had to pay again to get the leaves removed. While they worked 4+ items missing. Since they gone -0 missing. The owner did not seem concerned when I tried to speak to him about it. Not happy. I hired this company to remove the remnants of a lawn that died when we couldn't water and the owner told me he could remove about 90% with light rototilling and would spray with pre-emergent after for the Bermuda grass. Still he said, a small amount of Bermuda grass might remain. In reality, 3 days after the service, which was not cheap, it was apparent that many of the clumps of grass were not disturbed, simply covered up with dirt. Now, a week and a half later, I'm spraying because it seems like all of it is growing back. When I told him I wasn't happy he did not offer anything more and his only concern was whether or not I mailed the check. I did and I'll never use his services again and wouldn't recommend him. Retained this company to perform formal garden maintenance. Owner without hesitation advised they could handle the initial cleanup and regular maintenance. After two visits the owner e-mailed me (on the day they were to stop by) and advised there was too much detail for them to handle. He is correct. They can do general clean up & leaf blowing but do not have the skill set to trim a formal garden or shape rosebushes. After their first visit I asked the owner to stop by so we could review some things for future maintenance. He did not respond and when finally he came by he shouted at my husband when my husband asked him why he did not reply to my text. Yikes. We aren't overly picky folks so just be aware of the limitations if you hire this group. read more

I hired Greenview to do our landscaping understanding that there were some issues on yelp. The bottom line is if you want something make sure you're clear with James what do you want and don't make assumptions. I was clear with James and he gave me what I wanted. We bought a new construction home that had been sitting for months with literally no landscaping. Greenview gave me a good landscaping job for half the cost of the competitor. I understood how James was able to do that and I accepted it. For example, we literally had a jungle of weeds that were nearly waist high in some areas. It would've cost a ton of money to physically pull those weeds. I accepted the cheaper alternative of having Greenview spray the weeds and then Weed-whack them down to the stump and then cover it with ground cover sheets, sand and rocks. The lack of landscaping used to make our house the eyesore of the neighborhood, now we have neighbors walk by and say how beautiful it looks. read more

Definitely not happy with the service. I received three bids to have the "entire" property except within the fenced area cleared of little cedars, dead cedars and to rake up the leaf/needle litter in the front. Each bid fell between $600 and $650. Greenview James gave a bid of over $800, but with the 25% senior discount if fell to $630. We decided to go with him because he seemed nice. That was a big mistake. James and his crew only worked 2-12 hours and did about 1/2 of the work. Instead of working to the property posts, he cleared about 15-20 feet around the house. He left many dead little cedar trees and many of the tiny one to two footers. He left many dead trees right in the front, which was the reason we wanted the property cleaned up in the first place. When we called to complain he said that he would come out and remove the rest but we would have to pay more. He said he would be out on Saturday to look over the situation, but never showed! This company sure does sound and act like a scammer company to me. The other two companies that I had bids from also walked the perimeter and gave me a bid from property line post to property line post. I should have realized that anyone that would initially charge over $200 more, but reduce it for senior citizens just plays a scam with the figures. He charged us $252 an hour, more than my doctor charges. He must think he is really good and must have a Ph.D in property cleanup to charge those kind of fees. Beware and if you decide to use this company, get an extremely detailed written bid from them or find another company. I hired Greenview to reset my sprinkler system and after that to reseed my lawn. They did a good job. Alex, the "foreman" is a hustler. They did all they said they would and did not go home until the job was done. Good guys. The problem is the owner, James. Huge chip on that shoulder! He came out to price a regular maintenance contract for my yard, sounded great. We settled for the first of the month. But when his crew came out for the first maintenance job the lawn had just been seeded and the yard was not ready for maintenance. I sent them away fully intending to pay the entire month's fee. Tried to contact James, did not get a response. When my yard and lawn finally needed attention I called Alex who gave me a date at the first of the week. When the crew did not show I called James, who proceeded to accuse me of "calling off his guys" and perhaps I should get someone else for my yard. Too bad; the crew is great. I hope they do well. The owner might need to look into a course in Anger Management. read more
