Nando's at London's O2 Arena is one of the largest Nando's stores I've seen, it's over three floors…read morewith the second floor being the main floor with the most seating, and the third floor just for toilets. It does have a lift; it is the lift dubbed "the slowest lift in the world" by joking staff members as it's that terrible, which meant I was up and down many times in the lift. It would have been so much easier if they allowed me to sit downstairs which for some reason was closed. While the staff seemed quite nice, I did find it to be pretty annoying how they'd walk around with walkie talkies to communicate between the two floors, it was rustly and echoing and certainly isn't what one wants to hear when trying to enjoy a meal, I still don't understand why they don't fill up downstairs first or at least just send customers upstairs where they still have to wait to be seated. The speed of the food was strangely mixed, my friends food came out in minutes however mine did take quite a while: I presume this is down to it being an allergy order and them making all necessary precautions to make sure my food is safe, as even the regular staff members were aware of my allergy, rather than just the manager which was great to see. My food, however, took a further 10 minutes or so to come out, possibly longer: while I understand and appreciate them taking care with my food, I don't understand why they couldn't let my friend and I eat together. While the medium butterfly chicken was tasty and hot, I found my chips to be a little cold, and my "Creamy Mash" was bland. I'm not sure if they pre-prepare sides, but my friend also complained that her rice and chips were cold. While the chicken is okay, the restaurant layout (consisting of mostly large tables, the lift issues and seating upstairs first) is a little frustrating, so was the issue with the food not coming together and ¾ sides between two dishes not being hot. While I'm sure this place is great if you're visiting a show at The O2 due to its' location if you have extra time perhaps the Nando's branch two stops away at Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line from North Greenwich) would be better. 2*

I hate eating at restaurants that I have at home in Texas, but this stands out so much that we'll come back before we leave anyway. Oh, and the decor is beautiful. I stopped by this Five Guys burger place inside The O2 on the 1st floor to get some fries. I ate at…read moreanother place nearby but it didn't fill me up. So I decided to come here to get some fries. I don't go to Five Guy at all in Los Angeles but since I was nearby this store during my work trip in London, I wanted to try it. I placed my order through their kiosk outside of the store. You can also order with someone at the counter too. I got the Cajun fries and went inside to wait for my order at the pick up area. I had to show my receipt to one of the worker and he started preparing my fries. They give you a lot of fries, he filled up the cup and put even more in the bag. I ate my fries inside of the place, I found a seat near the drinks machine. The Cajun spice on the fries were delicious and they were generous with how much seasoning they put. I enjoyed my fries and had to take some back to the hotel since there was so much. The customer service here was amazing.

Bref, it's the Five Guys that you know. If anything specific to this one, I would say that the team is very lovely. And patient, which is very rare in fast food restaurants. Because of the ATP Master's, the O2 was incredibly busy that day so I guess that's why they had so many customers then, all handled very well. Honestly, I went in not very excited thinking the food would be very underwhelming, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good, I got chicken wings, fries, rice and some other items. All of it was very tasty. Their beverages including a non-alcoholic beer were also really good and it seems to be a popular notable spot for many Londoners and cares. I'm excited to possibly see more Nandos come to the US. Hopefully, they can live up to the hype that the locations in the UK have.
