We loved it so much, went back a second time. We passed…read morethis place on our walk to the center of town. Chuckled that it was an English pub in Italy. (We came to appreciate any pubs we encountered in Italy). Then one rainy night we ducked in for a break, ordering beer, chips and a couple entrees to share. The rain, the atmosphere, the good food, made for an enjoyable night. Then after a full day out and about, Piccadilly was beckoning. Once again it was exactly the comfort we needed. Good drinks, good food and great service. It's got a cozy atmosphere, regardless of the time of day. The staff was friendly and informative, no issues whatsoever. I know there's a popular pasta place around the corner (you pick pasta shape, sauce, etc). But if it's a hearty steak or burger, sandwiches, best bean soup, charcuterie, chips, etc. Then drop by! At first, I thought there was some confusion, but it became clear that the server was refusing to help us. He directed us to another server who was on break and ignored our questions. Later, I overheard him speaking English to other European patrons. We had a prosecco and a negroni. The Negroni was slightly watered down, but the house prosecco was good. However, the hassle, especially on vacation, wasn't worth it. There are plenty of other lovely places with great ambiance, service, and reasonable prices. Save yourself the aggravation. Also, check out the bathroom--pictures below. This was around 10:15 p.m with several tables being served and actively accepting more guests.

I ordered a few cocktails here and the drinks were good. After you order, they will bring snacks to the table like peanuts, pistachios and pub mix. Both visits I sat in the outdoor area which is covered with clear plastic sheeting. They allow people to smoke in there, which I didn't like, but I also realized that I wasn't back home in California. I was impressed with the size of the menu as they had quite a few offerings beyond pizza and pasta with a meats selection and seafood as well. I ordered pizza with ham, spicy salami and basil on the first night and the second day I had carbonera pasta. I ordered the chicory vegetable side both times. My wife ordered with muscles with pasta on the first night and lasagna on the second day and she liked both. For those that are from the US and you had not been to Europe before, service is slower. Three and a half stars!

We stopped here for a nightcap which morphed into a cheese-meat platter that was bonkers. Moscow Mule here, a Sorrento Sunset (spiked coffee) there, and now everyone was greedily picking at the massive wooden block topped with cured meats, jelly, focaccia, nuts, a handful of (stellar) Italian cheeses, as well as a bit of fresh mixed salad for good measure. Stuffed (this was after dinner and gelato earlier in the night, after all) we paid and about to scoot when the waiter brought out four complimentary shots of limoncello (the official 'mascot' of this region, for sure!) and the laws and customs and mores being different here than back in America I'll just keep mum about my 15-year-olds reaction to their very first official "saluti!".
