This was a cute inconvenient stop while we walk the streets of Sorrento. We were able to get something super quick and I wanted to try my first pizza in Italy. I got a margarita pizza and My Husband got a Panini called the goat father both were very very good. I truly enjoyed the service. It was very quickand super easy to eat on the run.

I found this spot on my last day in Sorrento and I'm so glad I did. The bruschetta was the best I've had -- crunchy yet buttery -- and the lasagna was hearty and delicious. Staff were super friendly, and even with just a 10-minute wait the place stayed lively the whole time. Perfect way to end my trip!

Yes, we came to a pizza place and did not order pizza. We had a lot of pizza recently so wanted to change things up. Instead, we shared the gnocchi alla sorrentina and spaghetti con polpette. The food did not disappoint! The meatballs were flavorful and easy to cut. The mozzarella on the gnocchi created a lovely and satisfying cheese pull. Everything was well seasoned. The tiramisu was the one miss for me. It came trifle style (already not my favorite). The flavor of coffee was very strong on the bottom; the flavors did not mix all that well. I don't recommend the tiramisu here. Still, overall, the rest of the food was good enough for a 4 star rating. I would definitely come back for the other food and would love to one day try their pizza (not on this trip though).

Best pizza in Italy? Ohhhh well ya know...maybe. But let's just stick with it's pretty amazing. I'll start with location, in the heart of Sorrento this deceptively large restaurant has the best ambiance. It doesn't matter if you decide to sit outside and people watch on the patio, or go upstairs into the garden with some natural light. It's in the heart or town square of the city, full of shops and restaurants and live music...perfect location. The service was fitting of an Italian hot spot, tucked in corner of a small street. They smile and sweep you away per your request, everything came out fast and fresh but most importantly you felt well taken care of the entire time. The pie is still the star of the show, the amount of toppings and variations you could get was impressive. You could also make modifications without fuss. I decided on the heart shaped tri flavor brick oven pizza from heaven. On one side you have classic marinara, on the other you have pesto perfection, and in the middle is a mozzarella dolloped madness. It makes for an excellent picture, but an even better pizza. Pro tip: The dairy in Italy hits different, go have some gelato on your walk back to your quarters. It's only right.

After a long travel day to sorrento, me and my new friends were ravenous for dinner. And when I say ravenous is an understatement it is. Started with a classic limencello spritz which was strong, yummy, and got me feeling better. Landed on the bufalina pizza with local tomatoes and Buffalo mozzarella. Such a fresh pizza landed upon my tongue which is exactly what I was looking for. 11 euros for a full pizza lasted me two full dinners. Thank you Frankie.

In the middle of the market area. It has a few tables for out door dining and two levels for indoor dining. Vegan friendly for the pizza lovers who can't have lactose with an extensive pizza menu. I thought the pizza was good but not earth shattering. It is convenient because it is open later than most places in sorrento When you pay, go to the front and tell them your table number and can pay cash or card.

Traveling from San Francisco and we were recommended this spot. 10/10!!! We got margarita pizza, red wine, and lasagna Everything was absolutely amazing and fresh. We will probably come back here at least one more time before we leave :) Ambiance was really nice too, there's some Harry Potter decoration which I personally enjoyed!

This place was recommended to us by our taxi driver...we went twice during our stay in Sorrento! The first night was a little rainy but they accommodated everyone waiting outside. The pizza was very good! My husband also ordered a hamburger which was very good! The staff was very attentive and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth it!

Frankie's is conveniently located in the heart of the shopping area in Sorrento. It is a charming little warm venue with a few tables outside along the outside front, inside and 2nd floor seating. I was very excited to try Frankie's after reading all of the excellent reviews from others that had dined there. So after a full day of adventure, we dropped in for dinner. We were immediately seated on the second floor and ordered drinks. I had already decided to try the famous margherita pizza m, very popular in Sorrento and highly favored at Frankie's. The pizzas arrived to our table and I could hardly wait to take a bite. Fresh dough, shimmering red sauce and bright fresh green basil. After taking several bites, unfortunately I found that most of the crust had not just been blackened, but burnt to a crisp. I understand about the historic process of using very hot ovens and having blackened crust, but the burnt crust on this particular pizza, was overriding the wonderful cheese topping. I had several other pizzas in the area to compare to. Frankie's is a wonderful little bar, I wanted to give it 5 stars as my experience with the pizza is probably something that seldom happens. I would suggest that you give it a try and see for yourself.

Totally worth the wait. Don't get turned off by the line. It moves really fast. We crammed eight of us in this place, but had to sit at separate tables to make it work. The Diavola and Quattro Formaggi for pizzas were incredible. My family loved the meatballs and the Greek salad as well. They also have amazing desserts here! Get the Nutella mousse cheese cake or berry version. Real nice with a cappuccino. The staff was super cool and moving really fast. They work hard! Would definitely go back for the pizzas. Incredible. Best spot in Sorrento so far aside from the Lemon place across from Grand Hotel which is incredible as well. Pizza here is really good. Don't miss out! Lastly, my sisters are gluten-free and they offered tons of options for gluten-free people. Enjoy --Cheers Grazie Mille!
Fantastic pizzeria serving a good selection of pizzas and salads. All with quality, fresh ingredients. Staff are very friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. And most speak multiple languages, which is great for tourists, but we also saw many locals having lunch here too. read more
We started with a fried rice ball and potato ball. They were very good. Very light breading and not greasy, almost like they were air fried. We then ordered the Frankie's Bar pizza. Slightly spicy with an excellent flavor. We also had the pesto gnocchi which was excellent. Lots of pesto! Our waitress was excellent. The place was packed but she was on top of it! read more
Waited in line outside where a super nice Brit (!) greeted us and took our info. We were seated after about 15min - not too long! Our server was an Aussie, and food delivered by an Italian who admitted he didn't speak great English - just enough to convince us to get a limoncello (Frankie's special) and dessert after our entrees! We were seated in the front just inside. Harry Potter memorabilia everywhere ( and a pineapple making love to a pizza!). We ordered a La Turtufata, Margherita, Neopolitan Calzone, and Spaghetti Carbonara, along with a bottle of Plinius (Vesuvian wine), and Acqua Naturale. My mushroom truffle pizza was very tasty, with a slight crunch of the pizza but still thin in the middle. Flavor was delish, although strange to have a cheese "fondue" poured on top. All the rest was good. The delivery guy recommended Limoncello, produced by Frankie, and it was THE BEST Limoncello we have had anywhere so far. I was sorry only one of us ordered it, but was too full to get anything else. Because ...... we ordered Chef Anthony's special Chocolate Cake. Not so special - dry and flavorless. Don't think too many people order it! In any case, a great meal and delish pizza! read more

During our visit, I witnessed one staff member repeatedly treating another staff member in a way that I found disrespectful and unprofessional. The employee appeared to be doing most of the work--setting tables, serving water and drinks, clearing plates, and assisting customers--while the other employee repeatedly made mocking facial expressions when he struggled with the computer. It did not come across as friendly joking and made the atmosphere uncomfortable. I shared my concerns with the manager because I believed the employee was being treated unfairly. The food was good, but I hope management fosters a workplace where every employee is treated with dignity and respect. read more

There are so many better places in Sorrento than here. The food is what I would consider tourist bar food. They obviously market the hell out of it and have decent pizzas, but there are so many better options. read more

Mmm. Not the best pizza I have had in Italy. Crust wasn't cooked well. And my pizza Frankie's bar pizza was marked spicy yet wasn't spicy at all. It had very little sausage. Flavor was alright. Not what I expected read more

We came here because they can do gluten free options, and my wife is gluten intolerant. The food is horrific. This isn't Italian, and it's not good. Nothing was fresh or flavorful. Drinks were good, but weak for the price, and the terrace is nice. All the staff are seemingly forced to speak in a British accent and won't respond to Italian with Italian. Tourist trap. read more

Large menu which was a plus. Busy place with indoor and outdoor seating. Owner was very attentive checking several times. Pizza was good but meant to be eaten as a meal instead of pieces in the states. Had a monster fried calzone too. read more
If you're looking for a bite and it's after 3 but before 7 (the window when most restaurants are closed), come here for delicious pizza! They even do take away! We got pizza and a side of veggies (overcooked and drenched in oil). I'd say stick with the pizza. The owner has great English, and you can even order on a giant touchscreen outside (in various languages) if you're doing take away. I generally hate pizza crust in America even before my first visit to italy, but the crust/dough here had a proper texture, and I actually finished it instead of giving it to my son who likes any bread lol. read more

The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was a cross between Italy and Britain! They were born in Sorrento, IT, but their mother was British, so they had a perfect Italian accent and a perfect British accent! Homemade food, great drinks, and amazing customer service. FYI, we ate there five times out of the six days we were there! Thank you Frankie, Daria, Andrew and the whole crew! read more

Came for lunch at 1pm on a Thursday in Oct and there was no line. We ate upstairs on the patio. Ordered the Italian heart pizza to share and it was delicious. The pesto section was my favorite. Very fresh ingredients and such cute presentation. The pizza was €11 and they did have a €2 cover charge per person for dine in. There was only one server upstairs but she was attentive. Toilets were clean. read more

Extremely overrated, this place deserves a negative 4.7 stars. If it were possible to leave zero stars this would be it. Food ended up in the toilet deserves two thumbs down probably would have tasted the same had it came out of the toilet. Plenty of better restaurants a short walk away. If you're looking for a traditional pizza, panino, fresh seafood then this falls far short, putting this restaurant in the same comparison as Olive Garden would be an insult to Olive Garden. Pizza was medium rare over sauced seasoned with an entire bottle of oregano. sandwiches came with a half baked russet potato inside with a 1/4lbs of cheese. The calamari was more than likely frozen and left out to thaw for two weeks before cooked for the lunch service today. Drinks were mediocre at the best. I've had MRE better than this. Money spent here would best be served feeding malnourished children in a third world country. read more

Recommended by a local. Picked up a pizza last minute. It was easy to order for take-out. They made it fresh. Came out nice and hot. Service was great, price was great. Still getting use to the "ask" for a tip versus it just being added to the bill. read more

Frankie's Bar was our first meal in Italy and it did not disappoint! The pizza here was incredible and actually came out really fast. The interior is TINY but we were lucky enough to get a table upstairs. One thing about Italy is, the servers get to you when they get to you. No-one is in a hurry here and we had to learn this the hard way. Once you sit down, it does take quite a while for a server to come around to your table. Once you order, the food comes out quickly so that wasn't an issue for us. There are some outdoor tables but they fill up fast. They also offer take away. read more

Where to start...While in Sorrento, a newlywed couple referred us to Frankie's, and they stated it was the best pizza they had ever eaten. Now, this is a huge statement to make in the great country of Italy, but we decided to try it out. The Margherita Pizza we ordered did not disappoint! While I've eaten my fair share of pizza, this one definitely is in my top 3. It is a light, airy dough with fresh ingredients and served piping hot. We also ordered the Chicken Parm, also good, but the pizza edged it out. In addition, Frankie's provides everyone the Habamix oil who is looking to add some extra heat and spice up an already amazing pie - excellent! If you can't make it to Sorrento, you can order this oil online. In addition, the service was also excellent! Our glasses never sat empty; we were checked on the appropriate amount of time, and our waiter was nice. If you're looking for a quiet restaurant, this is not the place, but if you want good energy, great food, and nice people, definitely go! read more

Enjoyed lunch in Sorrento at Frankie's Bar. We split the "Frankie's Pizza" which had red sauce, arugula, red onion, mozz, and sausage on it. It was very tasty, but nothing too special. Like most places in the area, there was a cover charge. The service was good and we enjoyed sitting in the outside terrace. The environment was fun back there. There were many different pizza and drink options. read more

Awesome place that's fun and friendly with fantastic food. A large variety of pizzas and sandwich options. They do gluten free and vegan too (not my thing but a great option for you who are. The Big Ben is a sandwich made on pizza bread with eggplant Parmesan AND meatballs! A home run baby! Another plus is that they don't close for the traditional 'siesta'. So they're open from lunch until 11 ish and usually quite busy. read more
