The first year, the lawn service did a great job.
That is where it all ended.
The second year was a disaster.
I hired them for stonebed landscaping for my frontyard. Yes, like another review, I had to put 75% deposit down for the project, and it was not cheap by any means.
Now stating that, as expensive as this project was (almost $4k), the stones are starting to deteriorate.
This is based on normal Texas weather.
(Per the owner, these stones come from Oklahoma)
The stones are pure garbage.
I hired them for winter weather prevention (over $300) for my front landscaping and backyard, including three medium-size trees.
Let me state, the owners son handled this project, and he did a horrendous job.
He is completely incompetent.
My front landscaping died. The owners son broke several branches on my trees to the point where one tree was almost destroyed.
The wrapping on one tree came completely off, and later that night, I was out there on a ladder trying to re-wrap it.
Let me also state that when the owners son was down with his horrendous workmanship, he forced my backgate inward, against the grain of the hinges. I could literally put my entire arm between where he forced the backgate inward and the gate post. I had to kick the backgate 3 times extremely hard with my foot to open the backgate properly.
HE'S AN IDIOT.
What really infuriated me (and I am putting that politely) is I have three German Shepherds, so leaving the project without notifying the customer is unacceptable. I was beyond furious with the problems he caused with my backgate, forcing it inward.
What if the owners son had broken the backgate forcing it inward against the hinges and the customer was not aware?
What if my three German Shepherds had got out?
OH, HELL HAVE NO FURY....
I should have fired them right then, but that is my mistake.
The final straw was the next summers lawn crew, which were completely different guys and utterly useless. They would show up and stand out front for 5 minutes with their arms folded, shooting the BS instead of doing their jobs.
I know this for a fact, as I caught them on my Ring Doorbell. I also have three German Shepherds who have no problem telling me when someone is on their property.
I was also having other upgrades completed on my house, and the crew members would knock on my door and tell me; "did you know your lawn crew is just standing out front?"
Oh, when I called and complained to the owner, he called me a liar.
Yes, the owner called the customer a liar.
That is professionalism at its best.
Personally, I find the owner to be very arrogant and condescending.
