We had the opportunity to use Greggs diesel service in February of 2018 to service our generator on our 44 tollycraft. They seemed professional and knowledgeable ( although a little expensive). They changed the oil and replaced the impeller on the genset and gave it a good look over.
The bill was high but it was the first time we used them so we figured we are getting what we paid for. We fired up the generator and within 5 minutes the cooling water stopped coming out. We called them and they came over. They found the impeller had lost all but 2 vanes. Nothing was in the strainer or in the lines indicating a foreign body had gotten in. The mechanic said that sometimes you just get a bad impeller and he would replace it. He ordered a new one and replaced it.. all was good after that.
Then they hit us with a bill in excess of 400 dollars for the replacement.
No discount was applied, no warranty on the part or anything. They charged us a standard service call and parts.
Stay away from these guys. They dont stand behind anything they do and charge you, even if their product is defective. read more
