Well worth a stop for a coffee (decaf as good as the normal coffee) and cake. I had the quiche which was one of the best I have ever had and the sides with it are clearly taken from the deli counter. They also make cakes for special occasions, we went for lunch as we were picking up our wedding cake which was made to suit allergies to dairy and citrus. Looks beautiful and can't wait to try it next week.

I have to say the prices are very good, starting from around 50p which is not going to break the bank and they do meal deals comprising a sandwich crisps or donut and a drink for £2.99 which is very reasonable because to buy them separately would cost around £4. The staff are very efficient so it is a good place to go on your lunch hour.

They also do a nice takeaway fruit salad. You can also eat in, and there's a large seating area upstairs. The shop does get busy, but the staff are fairly on the ball so service is quite quick. This isn't the cheapest sandwich place by far though, and as a result, I tend to use it for a special treat rather than every day.

Having worked in the Restaurant and Food industry for 15 years previously I can be a bit particular when it comes to food hygeine, and freshly made food like sandwiches and deli etc are at high risk of cross contamination and bacteria. For example they do not use any plastic gloves to handle the food, they use the same knives to cut meat sandwiches as vegetarian sandwiches, quite often the staff members may have been cleaning and wiping surfaces and not washing their hands afterwards before handling other food, also i have seen a member of staff picking her nose!!! disgusting!! The produce that Roses makes however is excellent-fresh bread, cakes-make sure they use tongue instruments to pick them up with!
