The decision for me to get rhinoplasty was a very difficult one. If you were to ask any person I know whether or not I should have gotten the surgery they would have instantly answered no, because they felt there was nothing wrong with the way I already looked. I was not your typical case with a bulbous/bumpy/hawk nose where surgery would have been an obvious decision for the better. BUT having broken my nose 4+ times (soccer) and being unhappy with the minor imperfections from other surgeons I had been to in the past, I decided to move forward and go for it anyway because I had the opportunity and felt confident in the surgeon. Dr. DeVita was recommended to me through someone I did not know directly but once I walked out of my consultation I was sold. Dr. DeVita was very patient and I felt for the first time that a surgeon actually understood exactly what I wanted. My two fears were ending up having a nose with a scoop, and/or a turned up tip. I think these are a telltale sign of a fake nose. In every photo he showed me from his before & after book looked natural and proportionate without the hang ups above. I had shopped around with quite a few other doctors and knew that if I was going to go through with this surgery it had to be with DeVita. Even though I had a strong feeling that I was in the right hands, it still took me a couple of months to actually book surgery because I still had apprehensions about certain things... was this doctor just a really good talker/seller? I thought, could he be any good if he offers free consultations? Is a city Dr. better? One of his employees, LeeAnn, never answers the phone (only returns a voicemail, which bothers me a lot), I read a few reviews that sounded like horror stories detailing he has his secretaries write positive reviews, all of which had me tossing back and forth for a while. It was his understanding, confidence, attention to detail, photos, bedside manner, recommendation (I ended up being able to talk directly to this person, where they told me I had nothing to worry about and after her surgery 3 other family members/relatives went on to use him as well), and gut feeling that made me pull the trigger. It is not even 2 weeks after my surgery and I could not be happier. I think it is important to mention that I cried myself to sleep one night after the surgery because I was so nervous and was thinking, "I was beautiful before, why did I do this? I ruined everything." But as soon as the cast was taken off my nose a week later I knew I had nothing to worry about it. Immediately through the swelling I could tell that everything I asked for was done to perfection. The best part about it is that it only gets better and better as the swelling goes down. My 2 fears never came to fruition- my nose looks completely natural and subtle. In terms of the surgery experience, I am 28, first nose break was when I was 17. My mother met Dr. DeVita first at pre-op and my father day of operation. They both instantly took a liking to him as well. The entire team was very personable before and on the day of surgery. My nurses Wendy and Joanne were very, very nice and made me feel comfortable and safe especially being that this was my first time ever going under for anything. I heard from Dr Devita and the anesthesiologist the night of to check that everything was okay. Recovery...it looks like it is worse than it is. My nose had to be broken so I got black eyes + swelling. It made me look like I was in major pain but all I felt was congested and numb. Through everything I never even took a Tylenol. After two cesareans and being diagnosed with diastasis recti my stomach was large, round and extremely uncomfortable. When no amount of diet and exercise diminished the appearance of what looked like a six months pregnant belly I felt hopeless. I was asked "when are you due?" so many times that it made my usual happy outgoing personality change into someone who was self conscious, embarrassed and ashamed of how I looked. My appearance changed me from being the life of the party to someone who would shy away from the spotlight. I was truly at my wits end when I was finally referred to Dr. Devita by a friend who had a procedure done by him, (and who looks fantastic!), so I decided to book a consult for abdominoplasty with liposuction. They held my hand every step of the way to ease my nerves and made sure that my husband was kept informed at all times. It's now two weeks post-op and I feel GREAT and, although still sensitive very swollen, I am ecstatic with the results!! Dr. Devita truly worked his magic and gave me back my confidence. Dr. DeVita did amazing work and I am so happy with everything he has done. I am almost 2 weeks post-op from a corrective Breast surgery by Dr. DeVita. I had surgery 3 months ago by a different doctor and was botched I had many complications, after 3 months of complications, and what I call "hell", I went to Dr. DeVita for help. I was referred to him by a friend who had multiple good experiences with him...He took so much time to review and discuss the procedure and listen to exactly what I wanted the end result to be. He was detail in what could be fixed and what couldn't be completely corrected. I am so pleased with the results. He made all corrections necessary and fixed all that needed to be fixed exactly to how he described it. After my last surgery I didn't know what to expect I had so much discomfort, pain and looked terrible for 3 months...Like I said I am now almost 2 weeks post-op and I am feeling great able to function normally, healing well and my breast look great! After having considered getting rhinoplasty surgery for over 10 years, I finally decided to do so with Dr. DeVita. A close family friend referred him to me after having a very successful operation with him. I had a deviated septum and a slightly crooked nose. I also have an identical twin sister and wanted to make sure we looked the same; this was an important factor for me, as I didn't want to look like I had a "nose job". I met with Dr. DeVita for a consult, and immediately felt comfortable with him. He has a great personality, but is honest and straight forward about what he's doing. I did extensive research, and this doctor is the BEST of the best. I don't mess around with my health and knew that I wanted the top surgeon in the world to fix my nose. Luckily, we don't live too far but I would have travelled to meet with him. I'm writing this review 2 weeks after my operation. It is still swollen still (due to the operation) but, I truly am so happy with my results! My nose is better than I could have ever imagined and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for Dr. DeVita. This man is not only the most talented plastic surgeon I've ever seen, he is a sculptor. I've heard of him being the "DaVinci of noses" and that is the best description for the work he does. Dr devita helped me when I was turned away by over ten surgeons. I had a very large "bulge" on my back caused from a previous emergency back surgery. The "bulge" was very painful and not aesthetically pleasing since this is a rare problem most surgeons gave me the run around or had no idea what to do with me. Dr devita put me at ease from the beginning I was obviously nervous and losing hope that it would ever be fixed. Dr. Devita came up with a plan and fixed my side so that it doesnt cause me pain and looks the way it did before I had my rib removed. Dr devita also fixed my nose. I could never breathe and had no idea why; it turned out I had two deviated septums and other problems such as a very large hole inside my nose. Ive never liked the way my nose looked ever. devita is like an artist with a scapel my nose looks perfect and completely natural like I was born with it. Because ive had many back surgeries ive had many scars and scars with indents from taking bone graphs, etc. Dr devita was able to fix my scars in the office to make them barely noticeable he also fixed the "holes" that I was left with. I was looking for a solution for the pannus that had developed as a result of the 3rd of my abdominal surgeries. I had been contemplating having a neck lift/face lift for the past few years. I researched plastic surgeons in the tristate area and am happy to have found Dr DeVita. I knew 2 women who had gone to him (one for an eye lift, one for a full face lift/neck lift/eye lift) and they both look beautiful. During the initial consultation Dr DeVita was engaging and patient, I was pleased with his professional manner, years of experience, and his knowledge of the latest techniques. 3 weeks ago I had rhinoplasty performed by Doctor DeVita and not only did his work change my life, but it also influenced what I want to study in college. I have wanted this surgery since I was 13 years old, and now being 18 right before entering my freshman year of college, my parents let me have this surgery. In December 2014, I had a rhinoplasty done by Dr. Devita. The second i met him and his team i knew he was the right doctor to have the surgery done by. I went to Dr. DeVita to fix a deviated septum and to discuss a rhinoplasty (which I ended up getting) in 2018. He made me feel extremely comfortable and assured me he would not let me leave the surgery without looking perfect. It's almost four years later and I could not be happier with my results! A few days after my surgery I actually hit my head which caused a bleed that put me back in the hospital. I called Dr. DeVita at 3 AM and he met me at the hospital right away. He called to check on me throughout the recovery and personally made sure I was ok to go on my discharge day.
