Went to Dr schlessinger for dermal filler. Staff insisted on taking photos of my face, which didnt make sense, it wasnt surgery, I guess he is afraid of being sued, staff was very young and they all answered like robots with very few details, Finally got into a room and he berated a staff member for taking the wrong pictures, recommended a filler that was twice the price of many other plastic surgeons, He injected radiesse which he diluted with water for 1200 dollars, it lasted 5 months which generally lasts fora year. First appointment Dr Schlessinger was extremely rude (avoided lookin at me). Would not answer any questions. Told me to make appointments for some tests and see him in a month. I thought maybe he was having a bad day because a doctor wouldn't ordinarily be that rude. Today was second appointment. He looked at test results and told me he didn't know what was wrong and to go back to the doctor who sent me to him. The doctor who sent me to him because he was a specialist with my condition. I had two extremely small cysts on the corner of my right eye. Dr. Schlessinger examined and surgically removed both cysts during the same office visit. With the numbing injection the procedure was quick and painless. There is an OR in the office which made the whole experience hassle and stress free. I have been going to Schlessinger Eye & Face for years now and I have to say that Dr. Schlessinger stays current with the ever changing world and what can be done medically to keep us as would like to be. Currently for me it is my mid section and I couldn't have asked for anything better then SculpSure. I went for my second session this past week and if it were not for ladies in the office having taken a few pics of my first time I may not have believed just how different my stomach looks. SculpSure really is a non-invasive body contouring that basically kills a portion of (for me) my belly fat. I had a horrible experience with my consultation with Dr. Schlessinger. I was considering eye lid surgery. Although the staff was very pleasant the consultation was incredibly disjointed. He came into the room and barely gave me eye contact. He was very distracted and he kept on leaving the room to give Botox injections because his assistant didn't know that she had to print the pictures and she had to leave and print them. He apologized and then he was still very disconnected. He brought in his financial person to basically book me for surgery and he left quickly. I was stunned. I had so little information why would I book a surgery with him? I called the office and explained that he apologized to me because he was having a bad day and I asked to speak to him to clarify what exactly he would be doing in the surgery. They told me that he wouldn't come to the phone or call back BUT I could speak to his financial person to answer my questions. It was all about the money. I would never recommend Dr. Schlessinger to anyone. He has absolutely no bedside manner! I understand he used to have a decent reputation but my well-respected Opthamologist has told me otherwise and so have a few other doctors I know. I have booked my surgery with a double board certified ENT/Facial Plastic Surgeon in the city who is the exact opposite of Dr. Schessinger. She has a fabulous reputation teaches at NYU, gives lots of time to her patients to answer questions and really cares about her patients. read more

I have some downtime due to the storm so I thought I would write another review from a recent experience. I went to Dr. Schlessinger recently for a procedure and found him to be a very charming, warm and knowledgable Doctor. So often you find a Doctor with good credentials, but terrible bedside manner. It makes the whole experience less enjoyable and often can be irritating and uncomfortable. With David I felt at ease and very well informed. He was so in tune with my needs and was very confident in his approach. I had an amazing experience and my assumption would be that is par for the course with his practice. The only reason I didnt give him 5 stars was because I got a little lost trying to find his office, but that is more attributable to my poor sense of direction and no GPS? For future reference he is not far from Jericho Tpke and I think you turn right at On Parade Diner (a well known landmark) For his service he gets two very big thumbs up! read more

I give an unqualified highest recommendation to Dr. Schlessinger and his staff. I would absolutely return there for any need I had within their bailiwick. This office is always in frantic mode! Do your homework before using this doctor. He reprimands his staff in front of the patient and the staff overall are very unorganized and incompetent. Dr Schlessinger is always in a hurry and doesn't spend time with you, he is too busy making sure the chart is correct and that his staff is performing to his standards that he really can't concentrate on you as a patient. Overall I had pleasant consultation and minor eye surgery with Dr. Schlessinger. I met with Dr. Schlessinger for a consultation where he examined my eye and explained the minor eye surgery that he agreed to perform. A medical assistant took photos of my eye during my first visit. The receptionist was thorough and acquired my health insurance clearance for the surgery almost immediately while I was still in the office. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Schlessinger was specific, clear and accurate in his description of the surgery prior to the procedure. The original photo of my eye was never linked to my account so a second photo was taken on the date of my surgery. The medical assistants were friendly and helpful too. The medical assistant, Andre, was particularly sweet, kind and patient during my minor eye surgery. She relieved my anxieties about the procedure and made me feel completely safe with her assistance. Dr. Schlessinger was warm and friendly both to me and my Dad, whom accompanied me to the doctor's office on the day of my surgery. I truly felt confident in Dr. Schlessinger's abilities. The doctor prescribed and antibiotic cream that has been working beautifully. During the post-operative visit, Dr. Schlessinger removed my sutures with ease. He was gentle with a steady hand. I was worried that it would hurt but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't. The aesthetician, Robin, came in to meet with me to share information regarding the services and face products they perform and carry after the doctor left the room. I appreciate that she was not pushy regarding purchasing any products or booking a future appointment. She was soft spoken and kind. I have an appointment to see Dr. Schlessinger in a few weeks. I am hopeful that I will like the look of my eye when I am fully healed. I would happy to upgrade my rating to a 5 once I have healed and am happy with the end results. My lower blepharoplasty was unsuccessful I still suffer with bags under my eyes. When the office was contacted in regards to my dissatisfaction I was offered to purchase a cream which I did then I was told to try ultherapy I did, now I am being told it is because of lack of sleep or allergies. I went to dr. Schlesinger because he was recommended and I thought I was going to see a talented surgeon. I don't feel that I should now get all these excuses as to why the surgery didn't go well. If my bags under my eyes could not be taken care then it shouldn't have been attempted and I could have found a physician to do the procedure properly. I am now seeking another opinion with a respectable physician and hope this can be fixed and not cost me another small fortune. read more

As someone that is a first timer to face procedures (and very scared of coming out looking like a crazy cat lady), it took me a long time to do my due diligence and find someone I could trust. Dr. Schlessinger is most definitely that person. He sat with me and was extremely informative, answered all of my questions without being rushed, and had excellent bedside manner. Not only is he professional and amazing at his craft, his staff goes above and beyond. I am deathly afraid of needles and am probably a doctor's worst nightmare, but he and his staff stayed with me and made me feel so comfortable the entire time. They went WAY above and beyond to stay with me after and make sure I was ok. They even followed up on their own time to make sure I was doing well after the procedure. I have never been to a doctor that has taken such good care of me as a patient. I have also gone there for facials and it was hands down the best facial I have gotten! I want to say first off that Dr. Schlessinger himself was very professional and capable. However, I cannot give his practice more than one star because his office team is so unbearably incompetent. Although I was thoroughly warned that his office is very poorly run, I went ahead with the appointment anyway and had nothing but a difficult time with his office staff, especially his billing department - after I paid what I believed was the entire bill immediately after treatment, they sent me an additional unexplained bill- I then called to simply ask for an explanation and was not able to get one. I then followed up again and was immediately routed to an outside billing company where they were rude and belligerent and demanded I pay this unauthorized bill or they will put it into collections- and still no explanation, She hung up on me and then sent me an email demanding the money and sent out another bill with a late charge- and yes still no explanation. I paid it under protest. For this reason alone, I am going to have the elective work that he recommended done by one of the big names in the city - it may be more expensive and inconvenient but I just can't go through dealing with his office staff again at any cost. read more

He is one of the worst doctors I've come across so far and I can bet he is one doctor that is all about money. I took daughter for her eye lid surgery to him and was recommended by one of her ophthalmologist and I still regret the day I took her there. He never ever sat with us and explained us procedure about surgery and all we spoke to was the staff (who was very courteous no doubt) but would obviously have no info on the details about her problem. We blinded committed to him on another doctors recommendation and as I said I still regret that. My 7 years old eye lid never got better In fact people blame me for taking this surgery decision as it made it even worse. I feel like crying every time I hear his name cos he literally ruined my baby's eye and the worst part is he would still not admit it was a mistake from his side but would rather argue n get mad at us if we tried to ask any question after surgery. I still don't understand how the hell he got a degree and became a doctor as The only person he deserves to be is a businessman. All he is concerned about n care about is his money. He seriously had no bedside manners or any courtesy towards the patient (even this being a 7 year old). Please...please save yourself a disappointment and misery and try some other doctor. I visited SEF a week ago to try a new procedure they are offering for bodies called sculpsure. The check in staff was courteous and professional. Since this is a new procedure I was anxious it's new technology and no one I know has had it. The staff offered words of encouragement, one woman even had it done, she was very reassuring. I was very impressed by the office. It was spacious clean and ultra modern. During my wait I learned about many of the other procedures offered at SEF. Botox,, fillers, skin resurfacing and even surgical remedies for brows, upper and lower lids. SEF has a medispa they perform facials, acne treatments, they even have their own branded skin care products. When it was my turn to have the procedure the technician explained the procedure in full. She was very concerned about my comfort level and checked with me several times during the 25 minute procedure. During my treatment the medical director Dr Schlessinger came in to see how I was progressing. The procedure is basically alternating warm and cold compresses to destroy fat cells. Once the procedure was complete they explained the post procedure care. There was minimal discomfort during or after my treatment. I went straight to work afterwards. I will be returning for my follow up treatment. Overall I was impressed by the doctor & staff. I'm looking forward to my second treatment. read more
