Doctors like that are hard to come by nowadays. In fact, I decided to leave my last PCP when she stated her preference for two patient visits per year and the use of urgent care and the ER. She was candid about HMSA's reimbursement switch to a capitation plan as the basis for her preference. I empathize as I think this new payment system is detrimental for the patient too. So that wasn't going to work for me so I found paying the MDVIP fee a good investment. Dr Okimura has in-depth knowledge of my health issues and she is sincerely invested in finding solutions and helping me to be the best me. She is incredibly empathetic, timely responses to calls and emails and comes with well rounded knowledge. I really appreciate that she respects that I know my body and always takes my input into consideration. I highly recommend Dr Okimura!

She not only works really hard at what she does, but her personality is so warm and welcoming. Her love for her medical practice shows in all she does. From balancing the times and appointments of many people, to studying to gain further knowledge, and to how much care she just shows to each and every person that walks through her doors. Yes there are times when the wait is long, but that just shows how many people go to see her. But even with the wait, I can say it is worth it because of how she takes the time with each patient to make sure nothing is missed or looked over. That is what doctors should do. When I moved to Hawaii in 2016, I knew I was looking for a good doctor... but I never thought I would have stumbled across not only a great doctor but also a great friend as well. They seem to be the ones who decides what is, who is important. On my very first office visit I was there on time. I waited over thirty minutes and then my name was called. I was then told she was overbooked and I needed to make another appointment. Why did they not tell me when I signed-in? That was a sign to change but I continued to see her. Then I day I went to the ER for stitches, and I was told that my doctor's office will be calling to schedule a follow-up appointment. The office never called to schedule an appointment. I never returned to her office.

Sometimes they would regularly forget that I had an appointment scheduled to where I would show up to a dark office with the doors locked.
