I appreciate Dr. Davis' knowledge and expertise with my condition. He asked a lot of related questions. Finally, he gave me his honest opinion - safe to remove it. Many people not familiar with my dietary restrictions wondering why I turned down many party invitations. Without a gallbladder, attending meat-only Yelp events became meaningless for me. It's literally throwing money in the toilet, with a lot of pain, mentally and physically. My most recent visit was about a severe digestive disorder. I went to my primary doctor and I got some weird treatments and experiments. But no one could explain it. I thought, never mind and I requested to see Dr. Davis. The nurses were so considerate. They asked about my insurance carrier and chose a lab that wouldn't incur a charge. After he analyzed from the lab results, he recommended some options in self-treatment. The condition eventually went away by itself. The Gastroenterology Consultants' office is located at Imperial Medical Center, right at the intersection of Highway 6 and Imperial Way. There is plenty of free parking. The facility also has public restroom and a pharmacy.

The front office staff were friendly and professional. Dr. Gajula treated me with respect, listening to my complicated issues and going over them in detail with me. When I requested an appointment to be paid out of pocket, she started asking what my symptoms were and proceeded to diagnose me and told me that I would need a colonoscopy and everything would be more than $2,000.00 and that I should find another doctor. When I asked if it wasn't up to the Doctor to make that determination after an initial appointment, she informed me they didn't do initial appointments (if that makes sense at all). For some reason, she tried to block me in every way she could. In the end, I just thanked her and kept the call. Although colorectal exams and colonoscopies are in the realm of root canals in terms of things patients look forward to, I can say in my experience their office has always been professional and the procedures have gone smoothly, calmly, with minimal anxiety and without discomfort. Dr. Fiman has always exhibited a professional and good-natured bedside manner and I would recommend his professional care to others.

PATIENTS BEWARE: where to begin...it all started with that "need" for a just-turned-50…read morecolonoscopy. I called United Healthcare before starting the process to confirm that all colonoscopy costs start to finish were covered under preventative care. UHC made two separate inquiries with Fiman's office and the surgical facilities he was contracted with to confirm that everything was in network so covered 100%. (1) Upon my consult visit to Fiman, his office charged me $100+ for the visit despite my insistence that the visit was covered. It took me SEVEN MONTHS to obtain a refund from Fiman's office. (2) My colonoscopy was booked w/Fiman at the Physicians Endoscopy Center (an in-network facility). Upon receiving my Colonoscopy Report, I noted TWO outright errors and had to make SEVERAL phone calls to have a corrected report issued. (3) And then the bills started rolling in. Despite using an in-network doctor and being at an in-network facility, I received out-of-network invoices totaling $1500+. WTH? After almost a year and hours upon hours of frustrating phone calls/communications with Fiman's office, Physicians Endoscopy Center, two pathology labs, and the anesthesiologist's office, UHC and I were able to reduce the cost to $350, but that was still $350 that I should not have had to pay when I researched Fiman and signed on with an in-network physician/facility. Fiman's people said that I signed something along the way accepting that there may be out-of-network costs. The same form I suspect every physician/facility has their patients sign in case of an absolute emergency and an in-network provider is unavailable under extenuating circumstances. In 15 years w/UHC and after multiple family broken bones, surgeries, and doctors' care, etc. we have NEVER, EVER been charged out-of-network by an in-network doctor/facility. So PATIENTS BEWARE! It would be a cold day in H-E-double hockey sticks before I would recommend or set foot in Fiman's office again. PS Oh ya, and one more thing we discovered way after the fact...my husband, who is an Iron Man (2x), had been to Fiman years ago on a turned-50 colonoscopy consult. Fiman told my husband that training as such was detrimental to his health and would result in cardiac arrest.

He and those office crones make my blood boil. Worst interactions I've ever had with any doctor and, although I wouldn't, I fantasize about punching him in the throat. Also, if you're still interested in giving him a chance, your estimated wait times are often 1-2 hours because he's taking the time to be a jerk to his patients.

After a thorough assessment and a colonoscopy, he diagnosed me without a doubt. Since then, I have had my symptoms under control, I stopped losing weight, and I am back to my old self living life to its fullest. There has been two times now that they have helped me out when I needed them to, and this last time really caught me by surprise. I'm not going to go into detail for personal reasons, but the PA, administration, and stein himself do care and they've proven it to me yet again. I'm not sure why he hasn't gotten a review, but he deserves it, I would recommend him to anyone else around the Sugarland area if you are experiencing GI issues. They are fast, they are polite, and Dr Stein is the one that was finally able to piece together what I was experiencing and treat it.

I first saw Dr Vachhani after I was admitted through the ER to the Houston Methodist Sugarland hospital where I stayed for about a week due to severe malnutrition from Crohn's. Dr Vachhani visited me each day and even fought for me to not get surgery when the surgeon at the hospital really wanted to do surgery. That was back in 2018. Younger me thought I was doing fine without meds or supervision from a doctor. Fast forward to now, and after doing a routine colonoscopy, Dr Vachhani found that I had ulcers in my digestive tract from Crohn's. He also did an upper endoscopy which found erosive gastritis. I like the way Dr Vachhani and his office will fight for you when insurance has a problem. They are very good at getting stuff faxed over to different people and explaining things if you have any questions. (This is for the Richmond location that Vachhani also frequents as I haven't been to his Sugar Land location since 2018 although they were nice there as well.) I do wish the waiting room wasn't so small because it is quite cramped especially when it gets busy, but I know they are working with what they have, and it can't be helped. Anyway, I always recommend Vachhani to everyone that needs a GI.

I saw Dr. Vachhani just once during my week-long stay, but I saw his NP every day. In looking over my hospital records, post-release, I found that he was "supervising" her, even though he didn't visit me, and that they were "discussing my case", even though he wasn't seeing me. Once I was released from the hospital, I was told to make a follow-up appointment with Dr. Vachhani's practice, Texas Digestive Disease Consultants. I made an appointment at the Sugar Land location, as it is closer to my home. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at their tiny office, squeezed into their tiny waiting room, and was called for an appointment with the NP (not Dr. Vachhani). Given that I was 1.5 weeks post-hospital stay, I fully expected (and made) an appointment with Dr. Vachhani. I was surprised when admitted to the area reserved for patients, as this was also very small. The one scale in the office (a regular scale, not a medical one) was out in the open, right near the area where the desk employees work. After that, I was shown to an office (NOT a medical exam room). The nurse sat at a desk, took my information, and never took a single vital sign. Then, the very competent and friendly NP arrived. She and I discussed my issues, an endoscopic ultrasound was recommended, and the appointment concluded. I was never physically examined. When leaving, I went to the front desk and heard a loud desk employee talking to a patient over the phone. There was no attempt made at maintaining patient confidentiality. My second appointment, scheduled after my endoscopic ultrasound, was about the same. This time, though, I was shown to an actual exam room, and even though I had scheduled an appointment with the NP, Dr. Vachhani arrived. Once again, I was never physically examined and no vitals were taken. While the NP was good and Dr. Vachhani was adequate, I never felt like "a name" to anyone at Texas Digestive Disease Consultants. Instead, I felt like just "a number", or a random patient. I never got a feeling that anyone in the practice cared about me as a person. If you want to see a doctor's office that will treat you quickly, without truly paying attention to you, this is the practice for you. Personally, I won't be going back to Texas Digestive Disease Consultants or Dr. Vachhani.
