The food catered by Messina's was so flavorful, so many great options and so delicious the team and the weight staff definitely outdid themselves. We also had our own exclusive bar and bartender who was simply amazing and offered great hospitality. We then had a chance to bid on the races, which was my first time there and the experience was so delightful. The digital screens helped to guide you through the process and made it very easy for horse race selections. I actually loved going downstairs to see the horses in the stables as they lined up to go to the track. It was so nice to see the horses, the trainers and equestrian up close and personal. I have so much fun and will definitely be back again when the season opens. I will definitely put this on my list of things to do while in New Orleans especially when the weather is so beautiful at the fairgrounds.

So take this review with a grain of salt if you are. But if you're not, you should go to a race. It is fun! On both occasions that I visited, I paid for clubhouse seats. That is absolutely necessary. In fact, despite the clubhouse seats, I watched several of the races at track side where it was free to enter on the days I went. Yes. There is betting. Yes. There are people who have a system. I am not one of them. Here's what I do, I watch the horses walk around the paddock and whichever one looks the feistiest, or has the coolest name, that's who gets my bet. I'm not really successful with this strategy but it's a blast. Races are kid friendly and mine had a great time. Come see a race. You'll have fun!

Tables in a back room are available if you book a party package. Like I said come here for your own sanity if you want to have a stress-free birthday party. You will rarely ever see a crowd in here. Heck I've been to this mall numerous times and have hardly seen anyone at all in here. You have the place practically to yourself. There are no running signs posted throughout. Socks are required. You can buy a pair for $1 if kiddos aren't wearing socks when they come. They also sell snacks and drinks at the counter. The staff isn't the most attentive as we had to find the girl working because she was off sitting around on her phone.

It's a great place for dates, groups of people, birthdays, friends, anything! I love to go and watch a game. Their nightly specials are awesome too (thirsty thursday!) They even have a band area where you can hang out after the game and catch a live performance. The fireworks there are pretty awesome too. All around great experience and cool place to hang out. They even have a pool if that's your sort of thing! And you can buy really cheap tickets to sit on the levee but even closer seats aren't that expensive.

Gave us no way to get around that banned except to put in our car, which we did not bring because they specifically said parking was going to be limited and encouraged folks to take other ways of being there. Staff did not offer any suggestions until we demanded--yes demanded to see a manager. Who then nicely took the blanket and gave us a claim ticket. We got in the field finally, was told there was no smoking and we would have to leave to smoke, but could not come back in. When we pressed the issue we got surrounded by security so felt forced to leave. There is no way I will ever go back to this stadium!
