He even created a photo label for the DVD... cool added touch, whereas he could have simply written on it with a Sharpie. Also, included was an extra DVD copy for each of our families. At the wedding, he did his thing and directed the photo shoots and was just super organized and energetic. Highly, highly recommend Mark for your Chicagoland events.

I will start this off by stating this fact --- I am a very critical and tough judge when it comes to photographers. Some of the "legends" to me are over hyped and over rated. What can I say? I am tough to impress. I subscribe to the blogs of over 100 award winning photographers and go through hundreds of blog posts every single week. Needless to say, I love this stuff and am a bit obsessed. I can confidently say that after having seen so much work, I have developed a pretty good eye. I considered over 30 award winning photographers on all sorts of sites like WPJA, AGWPJA, etc. I really had no budget in mind --- this was my wedding and to me photography is more important than anything, including the venue itself. So I feel like my picking David alone was a big endorsement. I also knew that, after getting our wedding pictures, I would write David a review no matter what. Good or bad, no matter what. My review would be a 100% honest one. If he did a terrible job and I was not happy with the result, well sorry buddy, I am going to write you a 1 star review, objectively stating the facts as to why nobody should hire you. If you did amazing work, you would get an review reflecting that. Objective and fair review, no matter what. So let me be totally objective. Here as I write my review, I am left wondering HOW to write a review for David's work at my wedding. When Michael Jordan scored 63 points, as a journalist, how do you put into words just how great he is? Do you have lots of exclamation points? Do you write with lots of words in caps? Do you use the words legendary and out-of-this-planet in every other sentence? How do you truly convey in a Yelp review *true greatness*? Words fall short -- they really do. David shot 7 events for our Indian wedding --- engagement session, Sangeet, Baraat, Wedding Ceremony, Reception, Family portraits, and Day After Shoot. I was quite confident the pictures would be good. I did not know they would be insanely good, purely deeply truly amazing. I mean he delivered around 2,500 images. Yes, two and a half thousand high res images. Surely there would be some duds? Right? 2,500 images for crying out loud, but I can honestly say that every single one is awesome. Like, beautiful. Captial B Beautiful. Every single one. How is this even possible? How in the world did he do this?!?!?!? OK, I am trying with my words, but seriously, I ask again, how can I best convey David's greatness in words? This man is one of the finest photographers of any kind I have ever come across, and consider that in the context of how obsessive I am about photographers and how many I follow. David is a true artist, a rare talent. Some photographers are great at capturing moments. Some are amazing at post processing the images. Some are great at going above and beyond for their clients. David is all of these things. He is a true photojournalist. I call him Ninja David since there were plenty of times where I had no idea where he was; he was so out of sight and mind and that is the best way to capture natural images of real human emotion. But then there is "the eye" --- you have to see it first to capture it. David excels here. Incredible eye. Then there is the timing --- you have to see it coming and then snap, take the image at the perfect time. David excels at this. Impeccable timing. Then there is the post processing. Once you have the image, you have to "fix it" - sometimes the colors, add filters, and others. You have to think about each image and ask how to make them even better. David's post processing of the images of our wedding was flawless. Taking it all together, looking at it holistically ---- I mean David's work is so good, I sometimes just laugh looking at the pictures. Like one laughs at someone who hits 15 three pointers in a row in a NBA game. That type of greatness, it just makes you shake your head and laugh when you witness it. Icing on the cake: David is such a nice guy. A joy to work with given his love for life, his love for his clients, his love for his work. He exudes positive energy. He is laid back and goes above and beyond for his clients. Kind hearted and generous. By the way, last thing. If you are not hiring him, 3 words for you my friend: terrible, terrible decision.

Long story short, my now-husband and I had to find a new photographer one month before our wedding. Needless to say, I was panicking, but thankfully Mike had our day open and not only that, he went above and beyond in that month to make us feel comfortable with him for the big day by insisting on meeting in person multiple times and scheduling a casual photoshoot so we could get used to his direction and working together. It's Mike's professionalism and warmth that really stood out and impressed me. He's never late, had a great second shooter, and is very responsive to phone and email. Of course his photos are crazy, crazy beautiful and I am SO glad we found him (through Yelp too if I may add)! On the day of the wedding, I didn't notice him in our faces at all. Almost like he wasn't there at times, but when he sent us some sample photos, I nearly cried at all the great moments he captured. The company itself and the manager, Frank, are a different story. We found ConceptOne Photography at a bridal expo that we attended sometime in the Spring/Summer of 2021. Our wedding was October 2022. So we were looking for vendors with plenty of time to make things as less stressful as possible. Out of all the photographers and studios we spoke to, we really liked ConceptOne. It was within budget and offered different services depending on the package you chose. We chose a package that included the engagement shoot and Photo Booth. We also paid for video service that was supposed to have a YouTube link with our wedding video to share with friends and family. We never got that link. We only received our video on a USB drive and it was only after so many emails and calls requesting our video. Our wedding was on October 1st of 2022. We got our wedding albums in the mail, June 8th 2023. Eight whole months after our wedding. Back in March 2023, we were told via email by Sara from ConceptOne, that it would take 4-6 weeks for us to receive our albums in the mail. Eight months is way past the 4-6 weeks that we were told. When I asked for updates, I wouldn't get responses for days and the last email I sent requesting an update went completely unanswered. There were countless phone calls from me and my husband to Frank, the manager. We had left voicemails, and it got to the point where Frank wasn't calling me back, but only calling my husband back. We felt that Frank was giving us the run-around and avoiding us. This is supposed to be a 4-5 star company. If you're so overwhelmed with clients, stop overlapping clients or hire more people. That's not an excuse for you to ignore clients. Frank never ignored our calls when we still had a balance owed, but the second services were paid off, radio silence. It almost made us feel like we got scammed which is not a feeling we want to associate with our wedding day.

The photo session took about an hour and a half, and she was great with our 9 month old daughter! In 90 minutes, we had several outfit changes and diaper changes, and still wound up with a great selection of excellent photos to choose from. After the photo session, Kim called us a few weeks later to let us know that the photos were ready to view. We met her at her house, and she projected the photos on the wall so that we could see them nice and big, the size that we would be ordering. She had coffee, tea, and snacks for us, and set the photos to a slideshow for us to enjoy. We were stressed out about having to choose only a few photos from such a great selection, but she helped us through the selection process and we were able to decide on a great grouping of pictures to order. We are currently waiting for our photos to be delivered. Will update review when we receive our final product. Overall, a great experience so far, and we would highly recommend to anyone looking for very high-quality prints to hang in their home!
