Whether you are commuting regularly or just heading into the city for the day, the whole setup makes getting around feel simple and efficient. One of its best qualities is how practical it is. There is plenty of parking, it is easy to access, and it connects well for people coming from different directions, which makes the whole experience feel very civilized by Metro standards. The station also usually feels clean and well maintained, and overall it is just a reliable place to start or end your trip. We missed our connection because of Greyhound's delays, customer service was unhelpful, and our replacement tickets no longer allowed my elderly mother and me to sit together despite paying for reserved seating. Multiple passengers were assigned the same seat numbers, creating confusion and frustration. The Richmond station was dirty, with rats running around the waiting area. On the bus, passengers openly smoked marijuana, the electrical outlets didn't work, and baggage loading was chaotic. To make matters worse, metal hardware protruding from my seat caused me hours of back pain before I realized what was digging into me. What should have been a straightforward trip turned into an exhausting ordeal filled with delays, poor communication, unsafe conditions, and terrible customer service. I understand delays happen, but the complete lack of communication, organization, and concern for passenger especially elderly traveler is unacceptable. The station is close to busses and parking. Here is good for getting off in Arlington or Falls Church. It serves the Orange and Silver Lines. This is the last station to make a transfer. After this the Orange goes to West Falls Church. The Silver goes to Wiehle-Reston. It doesn't seem to get too crowded. This is a bad place for driving to and parking because space is limited. It seems good for getting to Falls Church. Plenty of busses to take you here. This is also good for making a transfer.

Yes, it may be policy you're the only parking garage in the 21st century that doesn't let me leave for free in the first 15 minutes. At the end of the day it's $9. But when people are already having a bad day getting around driving in bad weather and your reflex is to laugh, there's a special place for people like that.
