The second I get on the Greyhound(first time)this is what happens.. "Welcome aboard blah blah blah.......If I hear any noise coming from your Mp3 player,radio,pc,phone Im kicking you off the bus" ..kicking you off the bus?In the middle of a strange city?Can they do that?Is this legal?How would the driver survive such a brutal attack from some guy who gets upset over such a thing? Yeah he fucking said it and he fucking did it..somewhere in Oregon there is some dude prob frozen to death in the middle of nowhere unless the cops got to him first after the driver kicked him off and called the cops when he was caught smoking in the bathroom(against the rules sure but cant you fine him instead of throwing him off in the middle of nowhere ffs??!) We get to St louis and by this time I've started to despise most people and basically the entire situation and my horrible terrible mistake.A few diff buses and stations all over the states.I'm talking the most filthy,disgusting,piss stained shitholes that one could only imagine in their worst nightmares...shit smeared on the walls of most bathrooms,piss everywhere,puke...lots of fucking puke..drugs,oh yes you can find drugs pretty easy but too bad Im not a crack user or heroin junkie cus brotha that shit finds YOU when you step off board.Okay this brings me to basic customer service at these stations and I swear to god this is all true.. Everyone who is considering riding a greyhound bus should read this. I am an 18 year old college student at Denison university. I'm a normal educated white kid. I traveled out of Columbus at 1:45 in the morning on Saturday anticipating arriving in cincinnati at 3:30, then a two hour layover leading to my destination of Lexington, KY.... Holy fucking shit, I have never been surrounded with such lowlife people in my life. First off, if you are in college, you're too well off to be on this welfare-line sum of transportation. Even as a last resort, I will never take this bus again. I'd rather hitchhike. My night started off being followed by a "real hood" male who hadn't washed his clothes for at least a month. He kept asking me what was in my bag and repeatedly complimented me on my watch. Needless to say, this fuck asked me if I would like him to watch my bag as If I needed to take a quick bathroom trip before boarding the bus. Um fuck no. I put that shit on my back never considering his generous but deceiving offer. Sorry dude but I'm not retarded like you I didn't fall for your trick. After walking to the bathroom, I realized I was an extreme minority of odds to 50 to 2. I am not prejudice by any means but I thought I'd throw that out there. Anyways, I was being watched closely not only because of the fact above, but also because I looked presentable unlike these other travelers. I arrive in cincinatti at 3:30 a.m.. I sat across from six people, reading my book because I was too scared to take a nap. I am distracted due to the complaints of arm bruises from literally six people. Showing of the bruises and needle marks started to occur. Great. I can't wait for these first-citizens to be on my bus along with the other 25 thugs. (if there was a word that degraded thugs, it would certainly describe them) Needless to say, I was now boarding a bus with heroine addicts who perhaps shot up in the back of the bus. I get on the bus. Gas is applied and the engine starts roaring but not moving. I start shitting my pants. Not that it would change the smell of the bus but holy shit I might be spending the night at this hellhole. After 20 minutes of maintenance, the bus finally kicks into gear. Thank the Lord! I arrive to Lexington and enjoy my weekend and freedom. The dreadful time has come to go back to the greyhound bus station to complete my round-trip purchase. Right off the mother fucking bat, a guy (not sure if he was homeless or not) ask me for change. I ignore. He says, " hey bitch I was fucking talking to you give me your change!". I reply, " no sorry don't have any" ( that was bullshit. I had change in my pocket but fuck that, stay homeless you piece of shit or go back to your shanty or barn or wherever you're from.). He FREAKS out at me and began to yell " I'll knock you up mother fucker, I'll knock you up!" I walk inside and little did I know, five minutes later he was yelling at some other people the same thing. His ticket was refunded due to his absurdness, luckily. We unexpectedly stop in Cincinnati for maintenance. Ok whatever I'm cool with it I just can't wait to get home fuck it. I'm on the bus to Columbus now and got a second row seat which is nice but I have to pee so bad and can't go to the back of the bus to pee because I will not leave my bag. Well, wish me luck for the rest of the trip. I hope I informed you what an unsafe, unmanageable, just about unrealistic source of transportation this greyhound busline is. I am writing this review on a greyhound bus (the 5th one I have taken on my trip of a lifetime to America). When we booked our trip to America Greyhound was one of the companies reccomended for travellers mainly because the company is aimed at people under the age of 25 and yes Greyhound is cost efficient, however, from the experiences I have had so far I do think they should add the tag line 'travel at your own risk!'. Our first journey on the Greyhound was OK. I would say we had several ex-convicts and clinically insane on board and the bus smelt a little but it got us from A to B (LA to San Diego) and we arrived on time to a pretty dodgy part of San Diego which we quicly left. Our second experience was worse. An early morning journey and we arrived at the Station to find aeresol sniffers and people smelling of urine lying (literally) around the waiting area. A security guard on a power trip then showed up and sensibly decided of all the people in the station to search our bags (to very ordinary looking. Young english girls with back packs who do not sniff aeresols or stink of urine). The result of our search was him asking why we had a microchip in our passports and confiscating my hairspray. The journey was ok and we made our connection (although maybe I wish we hadn't!). This is where it all gets awful. We got our coach to Vegas which for a start was full of scary undesirables who swore, yelled across the bus to eachother and boasted about their stints in jail. After two hours of trying to sleep our bus started to travel really slowly and when you looked out the window all you could see was cacti and sand our bus was in the early stages of losing power. Our positive driver then broke the news that if he carried on driving it would take us an additiona 4 hours to get to Vegas and if he ordered us another bus it would take an additional 4 hours to get to VEgas. To cut a long story short we were stuck in tthe Desert waiting for a replacement bus for four hours. The driver had no control whatsoever occasionally other buses would pull up and offer to take a couple of people and this resulted in a mad dash to the front to see who could escape. In the end we were left alone with a family of genuine criminals and at one point one of them searched the bag compartments and found a knife which considering my hairspray got confiscated was an absolute joke. We did arrive in Vegas eventually with dread of our upcoming Greyhound trips. Our next coach this time from Vegas to LA is the one I have just left. No joke this coach also broke down! This time about 10 mins from the Vegas station the power cut so we went slowly back to the station to pick a replacement coach. We were made to wait for hour new coach in the 120 degree heat and when an elderly man complained he was sick because of the heat he was publicly humiliated by the security staff who laughed while taunting him and saying you can't ride the coach if you are sick. When on the replacement coach it stank and we had the usual clientel who swore loudly, cursed eachother across the coach and yelled across the coach. We had to run for our connection where I, an English well mannered woman, pushed into the cue as there were around 500 people queing for one coach to San Francisco and do you know what I have realised at Greyhound it is every person for themselves because quite frankly noone cares what happens to you! That brings me to the coach I am currently on. I have just been given a talk by the driver which stated that on Greyhound they tolerate no bad language, loud talking, arguing or intimidating behaviour. You must be joking mate! Sometimes I travel Greyhound and sometimes not. Sometimes they're on time and sometimes not. Sometimes personnel are rude and sometimes they're not. But on my most recent trip, I had an experience that made me decide NEVER to ride their buses again EVER in my life. The driver announced, after we were en route, that everyone was required to turn their cell phone to "vibrate" or they would be CUT OFF. Thus, if he heard a phone ring, he would somehow force the person receiving the call to terminate their call or presumably give up their phone or turn it off or something. As I was trying to decide whether to turn my phone to vibrate or just very low (I would not feel "vibrate" because I was wearing a coat etc. and everyone else was too), I heard a few people mumbling, and it seemed like other people were also surprised and trying to decide what to do. The bus driver was rambling: cell phones disturbed other passengers and could distract the driver too, blah blah. Anyway I turned my phone to vibrate and just decided to check it every so often to see if my call had come in. Then somebody ELSE's phone rang. Just once. Not loud. The driver went ballistic. He made announcements about the terrible person who had done that, and gave a long angry lecture to us all, REALLY disturbing us about 100 X as much as a simple cell phone ring would have done. I just figured he was a rage-aholic but I was glad that it had not been my phone that had touched off the firestorm. Then about ten minutes later, another unremarkable cell phone ring occurred. The driver went berserk. He raged, yelled, blamed, and threatened that if it happened again he was pulling over. He would put the offender OUT of the bus. He shouted wildly that it was GREYHOUND policy. He began to swerve, taken with his crescendo of criticism and fury. The passengers became noticeably tense, frightened and freaked. I began to wonder what I would do if he chose to stop the bus and assault some cell phone carrier whom he might identify as the culprit in his deranged condition. Would I have the guts to defend a fellow-traveler? For the rest of the trip I rode in horror and terror: four hours. I was a wreck by the time we were 45 minutes from our destination and somewhere on the coach, the first four bars of the Nutcracker Suite played from the ring-tone of a cell phone. WE ALL FROZE. The bus continued on. I began to wonder whether he was going to quietly drive into an embankment or something. By the time I disembarked I was exhausted and emotionally distraught. His second temper tantrum had been so bizarre that I was actually afraid of him as I passed him on the way to pick up my luggage. I have been calling Greyhound all day to find out about this "POLICY" and to report the driver, Anthony Blidi. Nobody responds. If they know that their passengers are being subjected to this while they are locked up in a moving vehicle with a raging "Mutiny on the Bounty" character, they are, in my opinion, criminally negligent. read more

I don't take Greyhound, but my girlfriend has tried it several times. I drove her to the Greyhound terminal each time (1 to 2 hours before the departure time on her ticket), and every single time we ended up waiting there for many more hours, because the buses that arrived were repeatedly full. Each bus, arriving about an hour apart, had 1 or 2 spots available, while 20-30 customers were waiting in line (a couple of them told us they had been waiting since the day before -- they finally got on a bus before my girlfriend). Once my girlfriend had to travel to another city, a couple of hours out of the way, and make a connection from there in order to get to her destination that day. Another time when she was finally able to get on a bus, a woman who was also waiting there begged my girlfriend to give her spot to her student son. The woman and her son looked completely distressed, while my girlfriend ended up feeling guilty because she couldn't do that (when it should have been Greyhound that felt guilty). All of these people, my girlfriend, the woman's son, and dozens more customers waiting there had tickets for specific buses at specific times. Yet each time, Greyhound obviously oversold the tickets for their buses, without any regard to their customers. Greyhound knew these people would be waiting, but they didn't even give their customers any advance notice so they (the waiting customers) could go do other things like eat, browse a bookstore, etc. instead of waiting at the terminal not knowing when they will get on a bus. So why does Greyhound put a specific bus (departure time) on the tickets if you're not guaranteed to be on that bus? Well, we learned the reason for that too when my girlfriend tried to change her ticket to another day. Greyhound wouldn't allow this and she had to pay for a whole new ticket. Now I would understand this if her spot on the original bus was guaranteed. But Greyhound treats these tickets as if they are city bus tickets when it comes to themselves and don't reserve your spot, yet they treat the exact same tickets as if they are for reserved seats when a customer wants to change them. Greyhound have their cake and eat it too. They can't/shouldn't have it both ways. Either guarantee the seats (in airline fashion) and charge for any changes, or don't guarantee them and don't charge for changes. I will pursue this further with consumer rights associations to see if what Greyhound is doing is even legal in the first place. Greyhound is a greedy company that oversells tickets to their buses, period. They rely on their monopoly and treat customers in ways that a customer should never be treated. What they don't realize though is that people have alternative options. Rent a car, take a plane, beg your parents/friends to drive you to your destination, but don't take Greyhound if you want to keep your sanity (my girlfriend uses the first two options now). Date: 5.12.15 From: Ann Arbor to Detroit  Driver: T. Wiggins Immediately prior to departure Wiggins in a very unpleasant and in a verbally abrasive manner told a couple sitting in the front seat to find another seat. "You two need to move" "Find another seat in the back of the bus" When the couple looked confused at her not knowing the reason why they were asked to move Wiggins walked down the aisle looking for a set of open seats. The couple sat traslating between eachother what Wiggins was requesting. When Wiggins returned having found no open seats the couple asked "do you want us to move" Wiggins looked at the couple but did not respond. Immediadely after departure,maybe 2min, Wiggins stopped the bus and told the couple she was calling the cops and they should leave the bus. NO ONE ON THE BUS UNDERSTOOD WHY. The only possible reason I could think of was that the couple were talking amongst themselves in French. The bus remained parked on Main St for 20min as the police arrived and took statements. While the police were taking statements from the couple Wiggins informed the couple they needed to remove their luggage from under the bus. While the couple was still providing the statement to the police Wiggin was about to leave with the couple's luggage still loaded on the bus. Wiggins informed the police that I also might be requested the leave the bus due to my interference in her kicking off the French couple. after several more minutes of police questioning the French couple was directed around the corner to where the Greyhound station was to catch the next bus. My involvement in this situation amounting to asking the driver Why the French couple was being kicked off, when the next bus will arrive for them and translating English to French for the couple to better understand the drivers demands. Driver Wiggins was unable to keep the bus on the road. Crossed the white line onto the rumble strip while driving on the freeway. I FEARED AN ACCIDENT. Furthermore we stopped on the freeway for no apparent reason so Wiggins could discard something out the door. After speaking to a fellow passenger I was informed Wiggins has been rude to everyone on the bus since Chicago. Making it a nearly unbearable experience. When one of the passengers offered Wiggins a bottle of perfume as a gift  to cheer her up. Wiggins tugged down on the passengers hair and asking her if she truly smelled bad. LAST I CHECHED THAT WAS ASSAULT AND BATTERY!!!!  I resorted to passing notes and talking in a quite low tone voice when communicating with fellow passengers to avoid any further complications. It felt like a prison transport.  Arrived in Detroit at 6:04pm, missed my connecting bus, now delayed by 4 hours. Several of my fellow passengers have been delayed for 13 HOURS!!!! To the Greyhound management, and to every passenger who reads this, I am writing this with both anger and exhaustion -- not just from my stomach pain that day, but from being treated like a liar when I was nothing but responsible. Here is exactly what happened. On April 28, we arrived at Boston South Station at 10:30 AM for the 11:00 AM bus to Flushing. We checked in, informed the lady at the counter that we needed to use the restroom, and left. I started feeling very unwell in the bathroom, but I kept looking at the clock. I did not want to make the driver or other passengers wait for me. So at 10:56 AM -- four minutes before departure -- I walked back to the exact check-in spot. The bus was already gone. With my luggage inside. We immediately called Greyhound customer service. They told us the bus left at 11:03 AM, so no refund would be issued. That is simply a lie. If Greyhound checks their own camera footage, they will see that the bus left the pickup spot before 10:56 AM -- not at 11:03. We had no choice. We bought new tickets for $81.99 because we still needed to get to Flushing. Later, we called again. A different agent said they would "reschedule" us and cancel the new tickets we just bought. What they did NOT tell us -- until the very end -- was that we would only get a voucher, not a refund. $73.98 voucher, for a $81.99 new ticket. And we rarely, almost never, take buses. That voucher might as well be nothing. At no point did anyone apologize for leaving early. At no point did anyone admit that the bus left before 10:56. At no point did anyone offer to simply do the right thing. To make things worse, we later heard from other passengers that some drivers sell tickets under the table for less than the official price. If that is true, it explains a lot -- and it is deeply unfair to honest passengers who pay full price. So here is my message to future passengers: Do not trust Greyhound's departure time. Do not assume they will wait for you -- even if you are early. And definitely do not expect honesty from customer service. And to Greyhound: You took my luggage. You left early. You lied about the time. And now you are giving me a voucher I will never use instead of my money back. That is not customer service. That is theft -- dressed up in corporate language. 23 1/2 HOURS of GREYHOUND HELL This is why the middle class do not ride Greyhound...... Advertisement Says: Colunmbus Ohio to San Bernardino Ca. in 1 day 23 hr and 5 min. ______________________________________________________________ My 23/ 1/2 Hrs of Greyhound hell started in Columbus Ohio Friday Nov. 27th 2012. Bus came on time and the ride to St Louis went was fine. ST. LOUIS GREYHOUND HELL... We get to St. Louis for a routine bus change. We find out the trip from St. Louis to Denver Co. has been over booked 14 people including me had to wait 6 hours before the next bus came. They send two buses to take the new passengers and the 14 stranded to Denver. DENVER GREYHOUND HELL..... We get to Denver at 12:30 am only 1 bus is waiting to handle 2 bus load of passengers. Again due to overbooking we are stranded. Some passengers made other plans which left 11 of us stranded in St. Louis bus station for 12 1/2 hrs until the next bus was schelduled to come, the next day at 12:45pm. 1- We had to sleep on a cold and filthy floor. 2- All smokers had to ask for permision to go out side for a smoke. Once every 2 hours. 3- 3 paid travelers took too long coming back from the nearby 7/11 and was not allowed to reenter the building. They slept out side ALL NIGHT in a cold Denver night. WE were told if we let them in we would JOIN them. 4- Greyhound offerd us a "sandwich chips soda voulcher coupon" value $8. The next day 12pm a bus arrive we get loaded and ready to go at 12:55. The bus moves no more than 20 feet backfires,hisses and stops engine problem, we had to get off the bus and wait for another one. One hour fifteen minutes later a bus arrives. The ride from St. Louis to Los Vegas was on a 1980 circa bus, rusty on the enterior none of the over head air vents or lights worked for any one. The bathroom door had no lock or latch on it. Get to Los Vegas late we missed all connections 4 hour layover.... 4 hours later bus do come on time , get to San Bernardino 23 1/2 HOURS LATE........ I will like to get a full refund on both my tickets from Los Angeles to Ft Texas Amarillo Tx to Los Angeles. During theses trips I woke up to a passenger trying to steal my Apple Watch off my wrist told the bus driver nothing done headphones being stolen off the charger as I was sleep still nothing done being threatened by racist passengers in Amarillo Tx (stating his sperm mixed in with a monkey will create another me ) so I'm thinking rape. Then he says after that he wanted to skin me cut the skin off my body during this time frame the driver was walking on and off the but due to the engine cutting off as he was driving so as the driver was exiting off the bus I said let me go with you I'm in fear for my safety the driver told me that I would have to remain on the bus no one can exit and he locked me on the bus with this crazy guy. It's more to what happened on the bus but I'll just continue with the main issues we were stuck on a narrow highway for 3 hours with on going traffic going at high speeds and they were only inches away because the bus wasn't securely off to the side of the highway the bus driver fell asleep at the wheel when the new bus arrived when the co driver asked him what happened he stated that they weren't getting enough sleep he just came off a run and they putting him right back out. Amarillo Tx also canceled my first bus and told me I had to get on a Charter bus so I asked what's the name so I can verify that there associated with greyhound before I board he told me there was no name so I began to panic so my next question was when was the next greyhound bus leaving for Los Angeles he told me at 2:45am so I replied I'll just wait on that one I'm not getting on a bus that's not greyhound anything can happen to me he explained that he wasn't trying to be prejudice to me and that sent up another red flag in my head so I called my family from California and told them to apply pressure and see where my ticket is and why I'm not in the system because I did a ticket search and my ticket was canceled after so many hours I was able to board a grey hound bus while on the bus I was called several niggers and monkey names read more

Daughter set out on her very first adventure upon turning 18, utilizing Greyhound to get her from Birmingham, AL to Newburgh, NY for a flight with Norwegian to Scotland. The entire trip was booked well in advance and time was left between each to cover an incidental delay. Greyhound arrived over 2 hours late to Birmingham, which put her late for every subsequent bus from Atlanta, GA onward. Thus proceeded a very hackish attempt at getting her to her destination. The first delay occurred in Charlotte, NC where she had to transfer to the next bus that was going her way. That layover lasted for over 6 hours. The next delay occurred in Richmond, VA with yet another 6-hours waiting for a bus that would be going her way. At this station, staff would get irate when asked when the next bus was arriving so there wasn't any real comfort in know wtf was going on. After learning about the staff issue, I proceeded to call the Richmond station to acquire the information myself but, after being directed to a call center then redirected to a disconnected number, it became apparent that things might just be operating a little differently there in Virginia. The rest of the trip was more of the same. A significant layover in NYC was expected since every transfer had been a literal hell up to that point and, of course, the app was useless in tracking a bus that didn't actually exist. The route was cobbled with hacked-in buses and no communication offered as to bus numbers or their ETAs. All-in-all, this has proven to be quite the unprofessional service from an outsiders perspective. The only communication you get from Greyhound is, "Don't take it out on a minimum wage employee when something on your trip goes wrong", meaning that nobody at Greyhound wants to be held accountable when Greyhound drops the ball. You don't have to be held accountable but you can lose business. Maybe even have to lower prices when people realize what a logistics nightmare being a Greyhound customer entails. read more

Hey all, I dont usually write feedback posts, but I just experienced the worst travel experience with Greyhoud bus USA. I had a bus booked from Boston to Atlantic city, via New york city. The Boston bus took off 30 min late. The ride was pretty ok. Once we reached Manhattan, the driver freaked out and started running the bus in circles within the city. He hit a pavement, backed up on a signal nearly hitting cars, until they honked. A passenger had to look into his google maps and guide the driver to the bus station. Finally I made it to Port authority NY bus station an hour delayed from my expected arrival. That meant my connecting bus to Atlantic city had already left. After figuring my way inside the bus station, I finally found greyhound helpdesk. It was midnight by now. I went to the lady and told her that my connecting bus left because their incompetent driver didnt make it on time. The rude African american lady replied screamingly, "So what am I suppose to do". We will rebook you to the next bus which departs at 7:30am in the morning. I was shocked and perplexed at the same time. I mean for all the mess they had made, they could "Atleast" give a sincere apology. I was obviously charged for my overnight hotel booking in Atlantic city. And I had to spend a cold night walking in Times Square. All due to the incompetent Greyhound bus service. Now Im on way to Atlantic city boarding the 7:30am bus. And yes there was a Cop scene in the bus, where a passenger was thrown off by calling a cop. Thats a whole another story. I called the hotel people and they said they dont have my reservation, as I didnt checkin on time. Even though booking.com charged me the full room amount as it was past cancellation period. When I reached the bus gate (prior to departing time) at port authority to NY for my bus from NY to Boston, I was told by the ticketing agent that the bus was full. This was unacceptable, because I had the ticket for that bus for that time in the first place, so did they allow it to be overbooked? When I showed them my ticket for the bus, they simply shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do about it, and I should find the customer service. When I went to customer service and explained to them the situation, and asked if I can be placed on the next bus, they had the audacity to blame me for not being here an hour early, and charge me $20 if I wish to change my ticket. None of them wanted to assume any responsibility, or explain to me what could be done to rectify the situation. Finally, the manager came after a long 30 min wait, and told me to wait for the next bus two hours later. I inquired how the next bus ticketing agent would allow me to get on the next bus without the ticket, he answered by signing his name on the paper. "They'll know my name." He even promised confidently. (This manager's last name is Allan.) Guess what, when I waited for the bus two hours later, the bus ticketing agent said he didn't accept my ticket, and shouted at me to get off the bus. I showed him the signature of the manager and he flicked it away rudely without even looking at it. He even threatened to call the cops. Since the Greyhound customer service closed for the night, I had to get off and run to the dispatch booth in the other building, got the guards to call him before he finally relented, without even an apology. Greyhound stole mu luggage. I had to travel in Canada with a bus transfer in Calgary. When we arrived there were two buses in bays 2 (our bus) and bay 12 (the bus we were transferring to. Me being unsure went to grab my bag to move it to the new bus. A guy in greyhound gear said NO that's our job. I said please dont lose it as there are thousands of dollars in gifts (A HUGE MISTKAE ON MY PART). The guy takes the bag and I head down to bay 12. I look and look but dont see my lugagge being transferred, Off at the end of the indoor terminal I see the same guy headed in the direction of the door that lets buses in and he is pushing a small cart. I started to get a funny feeling and I should have demanded to see my bag on the current coach. It was a 500 mile journey with a few stops along the way BUT everyone headed for Regina had their luggage in one compartment which according to the driver was never opened until we got there. MY bag never showed up. I laid a complaint in Regina, I got refered to her boss who referred me to Saskatoon. Saskatoon told me to call Toronto. Toronto told me to call Edmonton. EDmonton told me to call Cathy? IN Calgary. She did whatever and then a week later said contact Jasmine in Calgary. Jasmine does not return phone calls. I called on Dec. 22, 23, 24, Jan2, Jan4 and no response. I have instructed them to keep the CCTV video tapes - the whole bay area is covered I found out. Greyhound lines is one of the worst transportation companies I ever dealt with. I travelled from Boston to New York to Washington and back in February. The first set of tickets I bought, I couldn't use, because the day of my departure a snowstorm covered the DC area - causing my NYC to DC bus to be cancelled. I spent about two hours on the phone calling 3 different representatives to get a refund - from my non-refundable tickets (Greyhound is probably the only company that doesn't refund tickets because of inclement weather). The following weekend I was able to travel. Half of the buses on my trip were old buses that smelt of toilet and didn't have WiFi - Greyhound's "New Bus" promise was completely unfulfilled. Greyhound also doesn't assign seats so you have to be in line a good 45 minutes before departure to make the bus that you are supposed to be on. In NYC, the bus I was supposed to be on got reassigned to different people so people that were going to DC had to wait 2 hours for another bus (which was old). The people that travel on the bus are by far not middle-class, so respect level is often quite lacking. Bottom line: if you are on a budget, or just like to save, and okay with low-comfort, low-respect, low-quality travel, Greyhound is for you. However don't expect to be at your destination on time, and don't expect a comfortable bus ride, especially on long trips. Greyhound will get you there - eventually. read more

I would rate this service with zero stars if possible. The experience was defined by extremely poor service and unacceptable behavior from the staff. Fifty minutes before my 12:25 AM departure, I received a notification that the bus lacked Wi-Fi, a detail not disclosed during booking. This was a minor issue compared to the subsequent message, received just thirty minutes before departure, stating my bus was delayed by two hours. When I sought clarification, staff could not confirm if the bus would even arrive. The most frustrating part was the unprofessional behavior of the customer service representative on the right side of the counter. She repeatedly interfered when a colleague attempted to assist and listen to my concerns, creating unnecessary chaos. A different bus to my destination was scheduled for 12:50 AM, with seats available on the company's website. However, when I requested a transfer, she outright denied the seats were available. The bus driver then suggested I visit the counter again and offer cash to secure a spot. The representative then took $40 in cash from me, and the new ticket showed a $0 fare. This company is running a major scam, forcing customers to pay for their mistakes. I have documented proof of this transaction and will be sharing it with Greyhound, though based on their reputation, I do not expect a helpful response. I would actually rate this zero stars, however, one is forced to give a rating in order to write this review. First, Greyhound should be called GreyMUTT! I had the most horrific experience on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 12:20 AM. My bus was supposed to depart from the Atlanta, Georgia station headed to Richmond, Virginia. I arrived at 11:20 PM. The rude, lady clerk told me to have a seat, and they would announce what gate the bus was departing from. Boarding began at midnight. the driver informed me that my name was not on the list to be on the bus. I went to the front desk where a lackluster representative informed me that my ticket was for the previous day because I was supposed to be there Wednesday night so when it was 12:20 AM Wednesday night/Thursday morning came and I would have boarded that bus so therefore my ticket was no good. I was handed a scrap of paper with a customer service number written on it. I talked to customer service for about 25 minutes and they literally ended up telling me that I was not going to be able to get it refund could give me a voucher for $20 for a future trip. Therfore, I will be taking my business to MEGABUS from now on. MEGABUS is much more COST EFFECTIVE and have much better customer service and REFUND POLICY! I promise I will never get on a "Greymutt" (formerly known as Greyhound) vehicle ever again. Don't waste your time or money! BOYCOTT GREYMUTT! read more

Before I start cursing like a maniac, let me say, I have spent my whole life in customer service, promoting, entertaining companies, Driving Car Services; EVERYthing with human hospitality (and even human decency) WORST FUCKING SERVICE OF ALL TIME. The MULTIPLE Drivers Ive had, especially "JAMES SHAFT" Complete Useless And beyond rude. No human being interaction. The service at EACH station is probably equally as bad. ZERO Help. ZERO Responsibilty. ZERO Compensation for their bullshit rules, policies. Nobody over the phone or at the locations customer service to help. FUCK FUCK FUCK These people. You people need to be shut down. Fuck you. EVERY Person I met on multiple trips in a week who works for GREYHOUND is miserable and helpless. I booked my one way trip from Victorville to Santa Ana on 6/9/18. I booked this trip for this day and time so I would be able to attend my friends memorial service, which I ended up missing due to Greyhounds 2 hour late bus and the driver deciding to change the order the stops. Here is what happened: The scheduled time of pick up in Victorville was 10:45am Saturday, June 9th. The bus arrived at 12:30 pm with no explanation or apology from the driver. Not only was the trip delayed 2 hours from the start? I don't know why. Then the driver decided on his own no explanation again to stop in Anaheim first before Santa Ana? Why? The schedule clearly states the order of the stops and it is Santa Ana first then Anaheim. They are close enough that my ride could have easily picked me up in Anaheim or Sanat Ana but because the scheduled stops are Santa ana then Anaheim I chose Santa Ana. So after waiting for people to get off and get their bags he got back on the bus and announced that he stopped in Anaheim first to save time. WHAT!!!! Save whose time? Lousy customer service and lousy service in general if I could give them a - star rating I would. To make a long sad story short I missed my friends memorial service. I will be looking into a different transportation service for all of my future trips. read more
