Place is a total dump. I could sit here all day and night and explain the horrors of my residency here, but I will spare you. Management is a joke. Other residents are disgusting. I fell in love with the space and just had to get in so finally bit the bullet in 2012 and rented a large studio loft here. The price was heftier than I wanted to spend but I said to myself, "Self, you only live once - just do it!" I sadly left the Greystone this past July. And from what I've heard, the price has only gone up from what I was paying. It's a shame b/c it was a great atmosphere - the place isn't located in the best neighborhood but is a community within itself and centrally located with a variety of shops and restaurants all in driving distance. The few things I won't miss about apartment living : the building is pet friendly so beware of poop galore. Some tenants aren't respectful of cleaning up after their pets. Also, you can't hear your neighbors on either side of you or below you but neighbors above you, that's a whole nother story. If you choose to come here, I would try to get on the 4th floor (don't worry, there are elevators - slowest known to man but they are accessible in the building). And if you don't live closer to the entrances, it will be a LONGGGGGGGGGG walk down the hallway - do yourself a favor and get a shopping cart! You'll thank me later. There is limited garage parking on a first come first serve basis but is a great option during the winter. The gym, although not extensive with its equipment is a nice feature. Anytime I needed maintenance work done, it was completed in a timely manner. Other than that, I truly enjoyed my 3 years here and the staff (started with Briana and Meredith and now is Sue and Lori) were always a pleasure to work with. read more

I lived here for 2-1/2 years with my wife and our dog. There are positive and negatives to the building that I'll try to list. Not everything was bad, but it also wasn't great. Pros: The building itself if beautiful, and the apartments are nice, with massive windows, and are bright, and have lots of space. The thick brick walls and windows really insulate the apartment well and in winter you rarely need to turn the heat on. Convenient location, 15 min to downtown Providence, highway is close by for commuting, Smithfield commons is close and has a supermarket, Home Depot and Target. Cons: Management constantly changing, and kept getting worse and worse as we lived there. They do a horrible job plowing all winter. Floors are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors below you as if they are in the room with you. They allow smoking in the apartments and if there are smokers below you, the smoke passes right thru the floor and your apartment will smell like cigarettes. We ended up having to buy an air filter because of the smell. Lots of dogs in the building and for the most part people are respectful and clean up after them, but the few that don't make a mess and there is dog poo all along the perimeter of the building constantly. Also beware, they will try to take your security deposit. We always paid rent on time, kept our apartment immaculate, and gave way beyond the required move out notice and they made up excuses on why we weren't getting our money back. I completely agree with the previous reviews. 1 star for me is being overly generous to say the least. When we signed our lease (2009) it was Joe and Jessica who were managing the place, they did an above average job.. Back then, most of the amenities where under construction. The gym, leasing office, grill area, mini theater etc. It took management almost 13 months to have everything ready for the tenants. So I can confidently say that we were paying a lot for the "PROMISE" of good things to come. Then came the changes in management. Joe left then Jessica was replaced by another woman named Jessica, then Meredith was hired. The 2nd Jessica resigned after a few months. Briana joined Meredith and as of press time, the two still manage Greystone Lofts. I didn't want to bore you with these names but consider being familiar with the names in case you're planning to have a look at the Lofts. SECURITY is a nightmare. Just look at the pictures posted. It's not an exaggeration, rather a detailed picture of a typical day at Greystone. We were on the receiving end of the vandalism, gas theft and other car related incidents on the parking lot. I guess if you plan to be a resident here, be prepared to be initiated as well. The word CLEAN is non-existent at Greystone. As a dog owner, I picked up after my dog every time. But some tenants don't. Unfortunately the management Doesn't Care either. So most of the area are covered with dog poop. SECURITY DEPOSIT, forget about it! You won't get it. On our last week we had a walk through inspection with BRIANA, where everything was ok.. Minor cosmetic fixes and that's it. When we called back to ask for the remaining deposit ( 1 week after moving out). We were surprised by MEREDITH who said after a secondary inspection, they found more things to be repaired leading to the forfeiture of our entire deposit. I guess we FELL for the Good Cop, Bad Cop show. Please, save yourself from all these trouble. Living in Greystone is like getting screwed over and over again ( with no Vaseline). read more

Where do I begin? Firstly, the rent is way higher than what you the apartment is really worth. The appliances are the cheapest quality available so maintenance( who change frequently, sometimes every two weeks) must come in to fix them often. Now, every time I had a problem it would be that I needed a new appliance which meant I had to have several conversations with management before it was replaced. And when your life is busy like mine, it is a nuisance. Secondly, the building common areas are not maintained well, that going back to the revolving door in the maintenance office staff. Furthermore, for months a giant trash dumpster sat in the back of the building gathering trash and rodents. Most pleasant I assure you. Not! And the best part I recently gave notice and moved out. I didn't get my deposit back because they wanted to replace the stove. Now remember they buy the cheapest appliances so very little money. More importantly there was no reason to replace it and they will not do so. The fact is it worked fine. I used it only the day before I moved out. No problem. read more

This is the first time I am writing a review online, because I always believe in personal experience. But the management of this building are outright thefts. I lived in the building for a one-year lease, from 2016 to 2017. After I moved out, I called to ask for my deposit. The person STRAIGHT UP LIED TO MY FACE that the deposit had been sent. On numerous times I tried to call back and ask where my deposit is a different person was on the line, and she kept making excuses that were wrong addresses, returning mails, and even tried blaming me. When I finally got my deposit, which was 4 months later, half of the deposit was gone for no reason. I never had any notices of the apartment needed fixing or any other expenses being made. Luckily, I have the pictures when moving out and will bring the housing court for the lies they had made. This company is a fraud, an outright liar. Do yourself a favor and stay away from what is initially looked like a well-kept loft. read more

I am still willing if there are others to file a lawsuit against Lance Robbins. The owner of Greystone, for all of the bullshit that we have had to go through. Kicked me out with no proof of the allegations against my dog barking in a dog friendly building. I had 2 weeks to find a new place and move to. Very inconvenient for me since I work from home. Now they want me to pay 1000 bucks for a lawyer. This is unacceptable. They also do not return calls. I have packages there that they are holding which is illegal. That I can not get a hold of them to get my packages. So if anyone is up for it I'm all for filing a lawsuit against these thieves. read more

One of the worst managed places I have ever lived in starting from day 1. I had some liquid drip from the ceiling that never got fixed. Ive had appliances break and nobody would reply if i asked to get it replaced. I know so many of the people the live/lived there, there are some serious problems! read more

Lived here over two years. If you choose to live here save all your paperwork. Send documents via email and ask for written response that they received. Management tried to dispute return of our security deposit. We always paid rent on time, left the apartment in excellent move out condition, gave proper notice, and handed in keys on time. After three weeks we still hadn't received our security back so I called and they claimed we were not getting our money back because we broke our lease. We were month to month but they claimed our lease was until April 1st. I said we had kept all our paperwork and demanded they send me copies of the documents that showed we had signed until April. The person on the phone hung up on me. I started collecting all documents/emails to file in court but before I could file, I got a call saying "there had been a mistake" and my security was in the mail. My husband and I moved into the Greystone Lofts a month ago - we couldn't be happier. We LOVE the multilevel apartment. All of the staff and residents are so nice. We love getting to meet all of the pups while they go out for their walks. We are across the street from a well-manicured park; the neighborhood has many convenient stores: Dave's Supermarket, Target, Home Depot, Staples, etc.; there's a Chili's, Pizzeria Uno and Panera in that same shopping center. Providence is so close, we just hop on I-95 and get to the city in minutes. Another great thing to mention is that the Lofts are set back from the main road, so there are never unwanted visitors. And to top it off, the apartment is the best bang for our buck. We're so thrilled we made this choice to move here. Thank you Pete and Rosie! read more

So after a year here I've got to say its one of the best places I've ever lived. I just renewed my lease. Some of the dog owners here are complete pigs though. Letting their animals crap anywhere and not picking it up isn't ok. Same goes for the smokers here. Dropping their butts on the ground instead of putting them in the trash. Granted you'll have pigs anywhere you live I just wish something could be done about it. Meredith in the office is amazing so is the maintenance staff. read more

I've lived in 5 states in the past 6 years, and have not had an apartment this lovely since I left Hawaii. Greystone Lofts is in a quite, pretty area and I relish coming home to what feels like a sanctuary. I've only had 2 very minor maintenance issues and each time it was fixed within a few hours. I receive a ton of deliveries and the office staff, Brianna and Meredith, are always friendly and helpful with my constant package pickups. No matter how busy they are, they always have a smile and take the time to say hello. My gas and electric bills over the winter were wonderfully low, esp considering I like to keep my place very warm. Love this building! read more

There have been 3 Property Managers from September 1st, 2017 - present. Each of the Property Managers have been non-responsive to email and phone communication. Property Manager's are not attentive in addressing tenant concerns, including work orders, noise complaints and tenants that are non-compliant with lease agreement. Examples of Tenant non-compliance with lease agreement is that all grass areas are covered with dog poop and Tenants often have their dogs off leash again creating a breach of the terms of the lease.. Property Managers show little concern with plowing snow in the winter which creates a hazard for any tenant walking on sidewalks or the the parking lot. Property Managers are not following all applicable state and federal codes. I would not recommend anyone schedule a showing of this apartment complex. read more

This place lures you in with what appears to be expensive cabinets, stainless steel appliances and nice looking bathrooms, however, after a few months you come to realize that is all a front to get you to sign a lease. The management here are a joke. Complaints go unanswered and when you do get a hold of someone to fix the problem no one shows up. I thought I had found my perfect home as they describe this place to be "luxury living", some luxury now that they have a bug problem and several apartments are havings issues with different bugs. Thats exactly what we pay this money for, to live with bugs. Oh and not to mention the fact that the police are here ALOT. Dont be fooled into signing a lease here, all the pretty things you see are merely a facade to distract you from their lack of ammenties, poor managment, horrible security and clearly now a bug problem. read more

Horrible! We lived there for a short period before breaking our lease. The manager Meredith is horrible, selfish, and careless. Tenants constantly fighting, police always showing up for domestics, dog feces and urine inside and out. Management does not care if your unhappy. Meredith lives on site and feels she does not have to follow the same policy as the tenants. Felt as if we lived in a college dorm rather than "luxury living" as promised. Do yourself a favor, don't even consider residemcy here. The apartments are georgous other than that, nothing but headaches. Dogs constantly barking, it never stops!
