When we did go back recently the store had a bit of a remodel. It was nice, but just did not have the same feel as before. Prices on items tended to be a bit more hefty and the selection seemed more, how can I say,... "tan?" We went on a Saturday, which used to be a very busy time for them. But this time the store only had a couple of shoppers. Just couldn't put my finger on it, but it just didn't seem as interesting or inviting. The staff seemed a bit standoffish as well. I suspect if we are back down that way, we may stop by. Just don't think this will be a planned destination any longer.

If somebody told me they needed a credenza or buffet, I would recommend Nadeau first. I'm not entirely sure where they source these pieces from, but they're a perfect combination of sturdy, well-made, and surprisingly lightweight. I have a beautiful painted black side table from here that I've loved for years and has held up beautifully. No scratches or anything. I like to swing on through anytime I'm in Homewood. Prices range from about $200 to $1,000+, usually just depending on the scale of the piece. I nearly took home a large, tall wardrobe style cabinet. They have a sweet store cat and the staff is always very kind and helpful. Stock here rotates often, so there's always something new to see.

The merchandise itself is great, some prints of birds caught my eye, and I'm usually not a fan of mass-produced art at all. If you're looking for bed linens, this is a great place to check out! Comparable to Pottery Barn, but something a little bit different. Very happy to have Ballard in Birmingham, it's a great place to gather inspiration if nothing else.
