It was a great place to go and get away from the college stress. My obvious favorites were bottle feeding the pigs and feeding the alpacas. It was always exciting to come each time hoping to see some baby animals. Tuscaloosa Barnyard also has themes and activities throughout the year like a pumpkin patch in October, lighting up the farm in December and Easter Egg hunts in April. It's not just fun for little kids, but also college students as well. They do sorority events like bonfire nights with s'mores and their farm is big with tons of photo opportunities. Writing this review makes me miss this place so much!! Some of my best memories of college were spent here.

They made some serious improvements here since we last came…read more Tons of cute areas to take photos and a plethora of new activities. More areas where you can sit and lounge while the kids play and super organized parking. Lots of fresh air and space to spread out enjoy. More vendors who sold yummy treats like pops and kono ice. Our family had a ball and it will go down as one my favorite memories this year. It wasn't crowded when we went which made it more enjoyable. We didn't have to wait in line because they kept things moving at a good speed. Workers were just the sweetest humans on earth who helped my elderly father on and off the wagon. Loved that they had smaller pumpkins this year for toddlers and small children to pick up. There was also a tiny train ride. I really do hope they can lengthen the time frame past October into a week or two in November. If you go to only one patch in October let it be Helena Hallow though. Huge tip! Be sure to wear comfy shoes that can get dirty. It's a farm so there's lots of mud. It's hilly so wear comfy tennis shoes or boots. Definitely keep the heels and sandals at home. Also they seem to allow water bottles so bring one if you spend a whole day out here.

The employees were so friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs! I loved the cotton picking session, it was a bit lengthy on the history discussion and the kids (kindergarteners) lost interest about 10 minutes into the 20 minute speel. Overall, we had a fantastic time! BTW, I hear they do a fun setup for Christmas ;)

We had given them a 2nd chance this past October due to the owner…read morehaving extenuating circumstances the year before and we thought since had just lost his wife that he wasn't on his A game. This year was worse. We arrived and the battery was dead so we couldn't put food in the refrigerator, people couldn't get into the top bunk and other things but what made it worse is the fact that we arrived at 2pm and they hardly replied to any texts, the issues still werent 100% resolved by 8pm, and to top it all off the O2 alarm went off late at night and nobody would answer their phone so we had the fire department from the track come out and they did a reading and our 02 was at 3.8 (5 is the high danger zone that can cause death) so since we had no other place to go, we had to keep all of the ceiling vents open to keep the levels down. They still did not answer their phones the next day. While we were waiting for a call back or even just a reply, the gal that was working for them called and said that they were busy putting out fires at the other rentals and she told us that a few of the other rentals were flooding so that is why they didnt take the time to reply even via text. They also dont reply unless you put the owner in a group text and then we get a quick call back and still nothing is resolved. They also give wrong rentals claiming that we didnt have enough people so they gave us a smaller rental instead of the one we reserved. They also keep your deposit assuming you will rent from them in the future. We voiced our concerns recently to the owner and asked for a partial refund and all he said was he could give us a discount on a future rental. 2/2 is not a good record.
