The employees were so friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs! I loved the cotton picking session, it was a bit lengthy on the history discussion and the kids (kindergarteners) lost interest about 10 minutes into the 20 minute speel. They made some serious improvements here since we last came…read more Tons of cute areas to take photos and a plethora of new activities. More areas where you can sit and lounge while the kids play and super organized parking. Lots of fresh air and space to spread out enjoy. More vendors who sold yummy treats like pops and kono ice. Our family had a ball and it will go down as one my favorite memories this year. It wasn't crowded when we went which made it more enjoyable. We didn't have to wait in line because they kept things moving at a good speed. Workers were just the sweetest humans on earth who helped my elderly father on and off the wagon. Loved that they had smaller pumpkins this year for toddlers and small children to pick up. There was also a tiny train ride. I really do hope they can lengthen the time frame past October into a week or two in November. If you go to only one patch in October let it be Helena Hallow though. Huge tip! Be sure to wear comfy shoes that can get dirty. It's a farm so there's lots of mud. It's hilly so wear comfy tennis shoes or boots. Definitely keep the heels and sandals at home. Also they seem to allow water bottles so bring one if you spend a whole day out here.

Well, it's closed now for the season but keep this in mind for next year. This family-owned and family-friendly farm is a quick drive from town. Besides families, it also seems popular with college students and couples. Parking is easy and admission is $2 which isn't bad for what you get: access to several pumpkin patches, the corn maze, sunflower picking, farm animal viewing/petting, tractor rides, and amusements for kiddies including a game where you see who can pump water the fastest to float a rubber duckie down a slide. Yes, I had too much fun playing this duck race. I saw hot dogs and lemonade for sale, but nothing pumpkin-related such as pie. I think an opportunity is being missed! Local honey is available for purchase too which is cool. The pumpkins aren't cheap, but then again, you're paying for an experience. I recommend bringing your own shears if you have them since the patch might be all out. The big pumpkins are already detached from the vines but if you want a smaller one, you'll have to snip it yourself. Also, it sounds like Farmer in the Dell will be offering pre-cut Christmas trees during the holidays and will be having peaches next year, so it's not just squashes. It was a great place to go and get away from the college stress. My obvious favorites were bottle feeding the pigs and feeding the alpacas. It was always exciting to come each time hoping to see some baby animals. Tuscaloosa Barnyard also has themes and activities throughout the year like a pumpkin patch in October, lighting up the farm in December and Easter Egg hunts in April. It's not just fun for little kids, but also college students as well. They do sorority events like bonfire nights with s'mores and their farm is big with tons of photo opportunities. Writing this review makes me miss this place so much!! Some of my best memories of college were spent here.

Sure I stretched but when your range of motion is limited you really need a pro to help you reach the muscles that have become sedentary. Nancy is an absolute pro and even though a lot of work had to be done in sensitive areas she continued to check in with me and made sure to end the massage with tension relieving techniques. I have a fairly severe case of Sciatica that has hospitalized me on multiple occasions. At 26 I walked with a walker for nearly two weeks and needed help doing almost everything from putting on pants to standing up off my own bed. I can find relief in some things but I never truly got my range of motion back after my first episode that led to a hospital visit. I went to Abundance for help with my condition and left with a BETTER RANGE OF MOTION THAN I HAVE HAD IN THREE YEARS. Five stars just aren't enough to explain the level of comfort, professionalism, relaxation, and relief I felt and have continued to feel from my experience at Abundance!
