That competition must be incredible. The hall on the water is simply splendid, and has amazing views of the lake. Its a great benefit to the people if they rent this out weddings here must be incredible. The docks were nice and had a few folks like me braving the bracing wind. The light was wonderous. Golden hour there is pure magic.

The playground is huge and has different sections of the playground with slides and monkey bars and this cool seat that you get on and you can move it so it shakes, a see-saw, and some water stuff to play with! You do need to watch the weather because if you're trying to do the loop it can get a little too marshy back there to make it possible. Bring bug spray. The horseflies almost carried me away. If you'd like to look at nature and just get outside and walk this is a great spot to do it. Watch your footing because some of the spots do get a little slick.

One section is the Passive Wildlife Conservation Area and the other half is the Gateway. The Gateway is a combination of Active Recreation and natural areas. The dog park just off of the parking area and the tennis court/pickle ball courts are very popular. Past that there are nice hiking trails, workout areas , pavilions, gardens and more. This is a nice area to visit. It's clean, safe and well marked.

I used to be able to drive there when I took care of my Mom but it looks like your not supposed to mow which is a shame too for those that cannot walk that far. They have a sports complex with pickleball and tennis, a dog park and softball field all in good shape. There is a short cement trail at this area along with a short trail to walk your dog. Dogs are not allowed in the rest of the park. Everything on this area seems well maintained. We ride our bikes there but then there are no bike trails, just hiking. Beautiful natural place that was reclaimed from a previous cattle farm.

One is .5 mile up to a high point and the other is a 1.6 loop. No dogs are allowed in the park or in the trails for their safety. Bathrooms are available at the entrance. The playground area is separated into two sections. The sections are age appropriate and super challenging and fun for children. The equipment is clean and has the appearance of being well maintained. The park is not shaded so I don't recommend coming in the middle of the summer. Fall, winter and spring will provide lots of fun.

This place has a good trail system encompassing about two and a half miles with multiple cutbacks and side trails and they've even got a water access for fishing. The scrub forest was fantastic and this park is at a higher elevation than most area around it so the views were pretty cool especially looking down onto Lake Apopka. I loved my experience here, and they've got nice clean bathrooms in the parking lot available for your use.

However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.
