Fun place to hang out for a bit with the family, with bathrooms available and some nice playscapes for the kiddos, including some very accessible areas so all can play. Misting tents to help cool off as well, but it was COLD when we were there. Plenty of space to walk on the trails and wander out onto the docks/piers (again, all very accessible). All in all - if you're looking to stretch your legs for a little bit on your way through the area want the kids to be entertained, stop on by.

I've only had one opportunity to visit this park and I came here to find some peace and quite and to devour a sack lunch from McDonald's while taking a break from work. This place is beautiful and at this time of the day during the week it's pretty deserted, anyone that was here was doing the same it appeared except for one old man with a walking stick strolling near the water's edge. The amenities are plentiful, I imagine kids flipping out once they enter the play area - I don't remember the last time I saw so much playground equipment in one location, the City of Tavares must have found a bounty of cash somewhere, this is good stuff and all very well maintained. Lots of shade and concrete paths and the best one of all in my opinion leads to the pier over the water, eating lunch on a pier is like nothing else - the breezes feels warm as the sun bathes you in Vitamin D, but it does nothing for my "Big Mac and Fries" lucky for me there's a trash receptacle at the end of the pier right next to that plastic tube used to collect monofilament line so I don't need to pack this garbage back as I make my way to my truck. I enjoyed my time here much more than the fast food that lead me here maybe next time I'll pack me a PB&J sandwich, I think there are a few birds to share with or maybe a gator...

Visited this playground with my four year old and she was thrilled. She has nicknames for some of the parks we've been to, and referred to this as "the Everywhere Playground...because there are playgrounds *gestures broadly at everything* EVERYWHERE!!" And she's not wrong. We were there on a Sunday morning and had a great time. Multiple large play structures (one for babies, one for littles, one for bigger kids) along with swings, monkey bars, sand diggers, a stage(!), tire swing, and more. A LOT of it is handicap accessible. Equipment appears clean and in good working condition. A couple of stray spider web strands but ehhhhhh it's outdoors with lots of trees. Benches, some parts shadier than others, and bathrooms right next to the playground. Definitely recommend if you're heading to or anywhere around Tavares; we came from the Winter Garden area and both felt it was worth the trip.

After reading Dave O's review of Lake Idamere Park I had to bring my grandson out to experience the playground. There are huge trees that bring much needed shade in the summer months and everything is beautifully maintained. The playground offers a huge variety of activities that kept him busy for a couple of hours. There is something for all ages. We took a walk around and noticed a nature trail, ball field, picnic areas, pavilions, fishing pier and much more.

Really nice park! Has lots of playground equipment for kids , a baseball field, walking/running track and picnic tables by the water !

I agree with previous posts but need to add there is a nice dog park inside, three separate areas.

The park was created in 1926 when Sadie Conner Trimble who was the first postmistress of Lake Jem and her husband R.J. Trimble donated 71 acres to create Trimble Park. In October 1978, Orange County purchased another 31.5 acres from a failed development and used it to create the campground area. The main feature of the park is the picnic grove and playground at the end of the road. My favorite part of Trimble Park however was the hiking area where there is a 1.3 mile loop trail suitable for all ages and hiking abilities. The trail takes you around the perimeter of the triangular shaped park and down to Lake Beauclair where ancient oaks ring the lake. Over the trail are mature wild citrus trees which produce fruit and blooms throughout the year. Birds you might encounter include osprey, ibis, red-winged blackbirds, and herons. Trimble Park also has a 15 site campground for groups, trailers. and single tents that is set around a small cove along Lake Carlton. Here you will also find fishing decks and a launch for paddlers. It is easy to see why this park is a favorite outdoor recreational destination for families, campers, and nature enthusiasts. Whether you're looking to camp, hike, fish, or simply relax, this park provides a welcome and peaceful retreat in Central Florida.

We saw a gator but I didn't take a photo. 4 stars because there wasn't any maps of the walking trails and limited signage. We got lost and had to use a maps app to find out way back.

A paved path surrounds a retention pond. The path is about a half-mile around, good for walking, of course, and even for biking. We live close to the park, so we ride it when we have less time to spare or as part of a longer ride. You will see long legged water birds there, and occasionally a small alligator, especially in winter when they like to float in the sun. So no swimming allowed! There are also exercise stations every fifty feet or so, and recently they added a set of 18 disc golf nets for tournament or individual play. Some are near the pond while other nets are in the nearby woods on paths. There is also a fine rest room building with plenty of parking next to it. I believe there are a couple of picnic tables near the rest room building, as well as benches on the trail. If you go there to walk your dog, I would suggest using a leash as sometimes a dog roaming free wanders around and you will want to be able to control your fur baby. You probably won't run into a kitten with a fish hook in its side as we did. But I can report a happy ending as the little rascal is the latest member of our cat family.
