Limor's has been sitting in my Bookmarked Businesses for a little while now, so when I was in the…read morearea looking for dinner, it was an easy choice. I was surprised walking into Limor's, it was larger on the inside than I had anticipated and had a mezzanine level which was for events- and happened to have an event in full swing that evening. Due to the size of the site, everything echoed, making it rather uncomfortable for the diners below, who were exposed to the sometimes inappropriate music and comments of the patrons above. The service at Limor's is standard. You'll be taken to your seat and given water. You'll be attended to the average amount of times and food will be cleared when you are done. They will also try up sell coffee and dry looking cake to you to invite you to leave. The service is absolutely nothing to write home about, neither is the decor. I don't even think I could describe it to you because it all fades in to the background. In general, the overall feel of Limor's is 'High School Cafeteria.' So we ordered, some sort of main that consisted of meat and chicken shish, two sides being chips, salad or vegetables. We opted for Vegetables and substituted chips for rice. This was lost when explaining to the waiter (third different for the evening) as he just took off the chips, and charged for additional rice. I was on a date, so there was no sense complaining at the counter. But honestly- standard stuff here. The meat and chicken shish were perfectly seasoned, excellently cooked and generously portioned. The skewered veggies were cooked well but under seasoned. The "salad" was not dressed. Oh and the side plate of rice was over cooked. Take from that what you will. We also ordered Cabbage Rolls which came with Israeli Salad. No. Just, no. The layers of cabbage were too thick and the bottoms were burnt, literally black. The filling was okay, too much rice not enough meat and vegetables. The salad was good. They dressed this one. Two mains cost us just under $50 and to be honest I was a little embarrassed I suggested the place. The atmosphere took away from our dining experience and the cuisine itself really did not have enough redeeming qualities to make me ever want to return unfortunately. All in all, I think you could do better and so could they.

The service was attentive and the atmosphere was warm and very inviting. The food was good as well. The burger was phenomenal while the steak was just ok. It was the Aged Rib Eye. Looking around after we realized everyone knew to add salt to their steak. They give you a complementary birthday dessert as well. Really have to appreciate places that know how to make the customer feel valued!!! I would go back for sure to get the burger and give the steak another shot.

We took it because we had just flown in that morning and couldn't/didn't want to stay out late. Interesting thing is the restaurant was half full the entire time so we didn't understand why there wasn't availability any later. Enough of that, on to the food. Appetizer sampler was ok. Nothing stood out. Calamari, mini sausages, pork belly, bruschetta, salad. Wouldn't order again. Regular and garlic breads for another appetizer. Ok but nothing to make me order again. Lots of meat options and I chose the filet out of preference and suggestion by the waiter. Cooked well but the cut of meat was just ok. Good sized portion and in this case, as it should never be with a good cut of meet, the peppercorn sauce came in handy. Side salad instead of "chips" (fries) which wasn't anything special. Service was slow and we didn't have one consistent waiter.

The first time I ventured in was to indulge in what is likely the happiest of Happy Hours - $2 oysters and $12 glasses of Mumm champagne - that is ACTUAL champagne, people. I refer to this kind of treat as Choysters and I guarantee you, you'll feel like a French royal by the time you finish that second glass. My next trip was for dinner. I was so excited to try their famous Steak Frites - Grilled Hopkins River Porterhouse, with salad and BOTTOMLESS FRIES. Can you feel my excitement as you read?! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection and the salad gave much needed greenery to the dish. This is such a fun destination if you've had a GREAT day at work and want to celebrate or are celebrating an anniversary of birthday but don't want anything too over the top.

Entrecôte is what I imagine heaven is like. It's fun, decadent, doesn't take itself too seriously, and has enough options to keep each day a little different, but not so many that you need to waste precious time making decisions. This isn't complex food, it's not food that requires discussions on how it was made or where the ingredients are from. Nope, it's delicious classic food that lets you get on with what's most important - enjoying the company of your friends. You'll eat and drink way more than you intended, but by golly will you have a fun night.
