HATED IT!! THE ART TEACHER IS THE WORST!! ILL EXPLAIN, The art teacher Mrs.Grimler sucks. I was talking to my friend, when she had asked something about my project I had said "oh.. well I.. I dont know?" And I assumed she was done talking to me because she talked to someone else, so I answered my friends question, about why my friend was gonna ask him on Halloween, and not before Halloween. So I said, Cuz, why not?" MY teacher thought I was talking to her, and started scolding me, and you know how you do that awkward laugh, when the situation starts getting realky uncomfortable, and you wanna try and ease it up? Plus I wouldn't mind if it was an accident but she wouldn't let me explain! :C Keep in mind she's yelling at a 13 year old. She was yelling at me telling me how my attitude was disgusting, she said, "well what about my next semester kids?? They won't have any clay because your using it all! And I won't have anymore left!" I'm pretty sure thats not my problem. You as the teacher and our supervisor, should be able to provide us with the supplies we need to succeed and do the work in class, since she's the art teacher after all. She was also mocking me.. :C a grown woman mocking a teenager.. She said behind my back, in a squeaky pitch voice, "Teacher?? Why did I get 25 points removed from my project?" Which she mocked me and said, "Cuz why not?".. plus my voice isn't even high.. I have a dependency voice like my mother. Honestly this made me even more insecure about myself, and really messed with my mental health, and I really don't know what to do, since she's letting kids in class who heard mock me, she doesn't do anything about it.. she just gives a cock smirk, and looks away.. They say stuff like: "Cuz, why not?~" mocking me by answering my question like this, Like I could say, "Your kinda singing really off key," with a grin, because im being playful, yk? But they just respond with, "Cuz, why not?" And it's not funny anymore. I hate it, I really do, I honestly wish, I could tear off my ears and not hear anymore.. It's the fact that she's a grown woman, and im a child, who is told to respect their elders, but honestly, im this close to fighting her, and throwing hands, I really honestly dont care if she's older than me, I hate how she mocks and treats me, like im lesser than her, like I'm human too. :C -I dont recommend coming here during 2025, I recommend to come during the 2026 first day of school, since she will be retired. If you do wanna come here, for middle school my favorite teachers are: 5th grade: Marsh(choir), Vest(gym), that's really it. 6th: king(study hall), Poloza(science substitute, she taught my class the rest of the year since my teacher Mrs, George had to go on maternity leave.), Vest, Ortega(sadly she doesn't work her anymore, but she was math), Mr. Ivanovic(i think thats how to spell his last name im not sure, but hes social studies, hes also called Mr. I). 7th: Boyer(Language arts), Poncin(math), Meyer(science [i guess he's okay.]) Thats really all so far, im half way through the school year, I'll be back with updates. :D read more

If you could send your kids somewhere else I would. This school does not take bullying seriously they will turn to make it seem like your child's fault and then tell your kid to make their bully's year easier since they "have it hard". Also will tell you how they would parent their own kids to make it seem like you're the reason for your kid being bullied as well. You won't hear from the principal himself UNTIL you involve the super otherwise it is just the assistant principal who will talk to you. They won't reply anything in an email they will only do phone calls and in person so there's no documentation of the things they say to you. And if your child gets hurt on school grounds and has doctor orders for anything if you don't keep them updated DAY BY DAY the nurse will call your child's doctor which isn't allowed! They give limits how many times your child can go to the bathroom per quarter so if you have a daughter be aware of this! Half the teachers don't reach out when you email to get help for your kid if they're struggling and half don't update online until the end when there's nothing left to do for help. not gonna lie, grimmer Is a one-star school. One star adjusting my fifth grader's schedule. when he was late to class. -6 stars for their little "policy" on bullying. At The open house at the beginning of the year, the principal reassured me that "the administration takes this very seriously." So when he was bullied, he told the guidance counselor and walked him down to the gym were he pointed out the group of boys that purposely pushed him down very hard. Later that day I received a call about it of course and said that they would do something about it. After which the bullying got worse. And it even got to the point where my 5th grader was talking about dropping out of school. And everyday he would refrain from taking the bus because someone on the bus was throwing gang signs at him. ( they did nothing about that) and so everyday I had to skip the last 10 minutes of work to take him home. The last straw was when a student took my 5th grader and threw him to the floor scattering all his papers and stole his cell phone, the kid threw him so hard he broke the glass door and when he called out a teacher she scolded him for making the mess. When he told the guidance counselor what happened they pulled up the cameras, but the footage cut off right when the student was about to throw him, so it was useless. Anyways, he received 1 week of detention, and had to pay $357 for the broken glass, and 1,150 for a new phone. so I posted a tiktok saying F the school F the faculty and the kids that bullied my 5th grader. we moved him to a different school and we can't be happier. This school is something else, my son and his friend were horsing around in class, my son had taken one of his friends air pods and was trying to hide it from him as a joke, his friend started chasing my son, and tackled him into a wall. The wall paper barely split open and a little drywall dust came out, and Mr Castaneda, who is the Assistant Principal, called my sons mother to tell her he expects us to cover the cost of the wall repair. i tried contacting Mr Castaneda the same day but didn't get a call back, I actually had to follow up 5 days later on my own. Now I'm not a principle or a assistant principle, but I'm pretty sure I'm a situation like this the proper reactions would have been to pull both boys aside and counsel them on horse play and reprimand them with an appropriate punishment i.e. detention, suspension, etc. So that they can learn from their error, and file an insurance claim as this is exactly what insurance is for. However, Mr Castaneda has decided to demand that we pay for part of the repair or he is suspending our child for a week for destruction of school property, even though our child was not physically aggressive with anybody, and when I brought this point to Mr Castaneda his response was " Well if I was in the other kids shoes I'd probably respond the same way, because those things are expensive!" So now not only is he demanding money from us for something another student did to our child, but he is now advocating physical altercations as a justification for something that should have been handled COMPLETELY differently. When I asked him if he was justifying physical violence in relation to the events leading to this moment he ignored me and yelled "fine you want your son to be suspended?! HE'S SUSPENDED STARTING TOMORROW!!" I asked him for a phone number to the administrative office to further discuss that, his response was more yelling " I DON'T HAVE THAT! YOU CAN LOOK IT UP! " and then he hung up on me. So I'm really confused, is the school that broke that they feel that money is more important than doing the right/normal thing of teaching the kids a lesson by giving an actual disciplinary action? Also, who has allowed this gentleman to believe he can speak to parents the way he does? I was calling to find a solution to the problem and he thinks threatening me with suspending my child for something he didn't do is a viable option for him? You want to give my kid a detention my for touching somebody else's belongings that's fine and I understand that, but my son did not destroy anybody's property. Also, where was the teacher while this was happening? Does the school board even know these things are happening? I wonder what the actual policy on these situations is? Grimmer Middle School - Alleged broken wall. - Elementary Schools Near Me - Schererville, Indiana

This gets a five because, as you will know if you drive by the place, GRIMMER IS A FIVE STAR SCHOOL. They have it on a banner on the side of the building that faces 77th. I actually really enjoyed middle school. The teachers here were mostly on the "pretty awesome" side, I learned a lot, I got good grades. La la. The biggest loss that I can recall (or that I am aware of) was that of Mr. Christensen, who went over to teach at... uh... that place my friends went to in St. John. Whatever the hell it is. He taught English - rather well, I might add - and was the head of our chess club (which I was on. CHESS CLUB GEEK, HOOOO). I also lived about two blocks away so I got to walk to school in the winter. Lame. I should detract a star just for that. Bleh. I wonder if my Iria pontillism is still in the hallway. Anyone know? Anyone? I still have my trophy for that. Wonder if they'll let me go look. Oh, and if you were in school while I was, I ALWAYS DECORATED THAT CHRISTMAS TREE, DAMMIT. ALWAYS.
