I went to this high school between 1988 and 1990. This place was a living hell. Lousy education,…read morelazy teachers, And race relations issues not to mention daily violence. If I didn't have my friends, I would've never made it through. I was lucky enough to leave the high school in 1990 due to my fathers job transfer out to the Northeast. After I settled into my new high school, I couldn't believe the difference in the quality of education and the overall Improvement in my entire high school experience compared to the hell hole they call Rich South high school. I actually started to look forward to going to school and went from being a C minus student to a B+ student in my new high school in Connecticut. For any parents considering sending their children to Any of the public high schools in the Richton Park/Mattson area I would seriously urge you to consider finding the money to send your child to a private school. I know some of my friends back in 88 through 90 Went to Marion high school; which I believe is a Catholic school. Looking back, if I had stayed at Rich south high school, my life would be totally different (Much more negative I imagine.). There is no way I would've ever gotten into University of Connecticut, Which gave me the skills to be an IT Security Architect working for one of the largest IT Services (Fortune 25) companies in the world and Raking-in a healthy six-figure salary. I don't even know if Rich South is still open (hopefully not), but if it is stay clear of it. End of review
