They also removed the wood and ground the stumps. Out of three quotes, Andy's was the best price, but what impressed me most was the way they worked. The crew used safe, careful removal procedures that protected both my property and their workers. They were very mindful of the lawn, asked questions when anything about the job needed clarification, and cleaned up the worksite when they were done. They also used newer equipment that allowed them to cut and place sections of the trees safely with a single machine, rather than relying only on the older method of climbing, tying, cutting, and lowering pieces by hand. That made a big difference given how close some of the trees were to the house. Overall, I'm very happy with the work and would absolutely recommend Andy's Tree Service LLC.

I chose Andy because my brother hired him and was happy with how his property looked. Andy and his crew were pleasant, punctual and professional. In one day, a miracle was accomplished! My family engaged the Bloomfield, Connecticut office for their advice on saving our Mother's beloved Rose of Sharon tree. When we initially met with their arborist, we were clear that the tree had sentimental value and that we'd be willing to invest in it's health, but we asked for their realistic prognosis as it didn't make sense to spend big bucks on a project that might be destined to fail. The arborist told us it looked like an easy fix (just some pruning, a little fertilization and a brace for a cracked branch). Sav-A-Tree proceeded to charge us upwards over $900 for the job which was done over two visits. Several months later, we are almost $1,000 out-of-pocket, staring at a dead tree. Granted... nobody messes with Mother Nature... but my Mom is heart broken about the dead tree in her yard, and the money spent at the encouragement of this company. When a Sav-A-Tree rep came to survey the situation, he was unfamiliar with the work that had been done and, initially, could not find the company's record for having braced the tree, which clearly was their plan from the beginning. He went so far to accuse us of having someone else do that part of the job. Eventually he "located" and their tree bracing documentation and, conveniently construed his records to absolve the company from any responsibility whatsoever. The kicker? When my 93-year-old mom asked them to please at least just cut down the tree and take it away. Their answer was "Sorry, not our problem." So much for customer service and good faith. I was VERY happy with the work done by the 2 men who removed the tree, trimmed the 2 others, and CLEANED UP the yard thoroughly after their work was done -- you would never even know that extensive work was done that day. I am, however, EXTREMELY UNHAPPY with the tree stump removal (IN THE FRONT YARD!!!). The stump grinding created a great big HOLE in the ground and a HUGE pile of dirt and ground tree stump right next to the hole. He told men that they "never fill in the holes", that's up to the homeowner to do! I am a woman, 77 years old, disabled, and walk, in great pain, with a cane -- and I was left with a great big hole and a huge plle of dirt TO FILL IN MYSELF !! Now I have to find someone to PAY to fill in that hole. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT ARBORTECH NEVER INTENDED TO COMPLETE THE JOB, OR THAT THIS WAS THEIR "STANDARD PRACTICE", I WOULD NOT HAVE PAID (WAAAY TOO MUCH!!!) $425 to have one small-to-medium stump ground!!!! They were very professional and used state of the art equipment with vehicles with buckets and a chipper. They split into crews and were able to tackle the front and the back of our property at the same time. Their skill - by a team of at least 6 crew members- was phenomenal! They coordinated their work, took great care with our yard and fence, and took the trees down without any problems. They cleaned up beautifully and even came back another day to clean up some more. Eduardo and Liz, the co-owners, couldn't have been more responsive. Rather than wait for that to happen, we called Luna after the biz was recommended to us by multiple friends. The walkthrough and consultation with Liz was straightforward and informative, and we quickly came up with an action plan. Within weeks, the crew was onsite taking down trees -- I was so surprised and impressed that they were able to accomplish so much in December! Thinking about the high winds in some of this winter's storms, I'm incredibly relieved that the trees were taken out at the beginning of the season.
