Cute place. Nice atmosphere, pretty much what you expect from a nifty little coffee shop. I live that they serve breakfast and lunch all day. The gal at the register was super friendly as was everyone we interacted with. I ordered the breakfast Panini and a chai latte and a blueberry muffin. The latte was pretty standard and good. Muffin actually tasted store bought but wow that breakfast sandwich knocked it out out of the park. The rosemary Parmesan butter really leveled it up. The homemade sauce did too. Nice thick bacon. Wish I lived closer! Hubby ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and a white cho mocha. Coffee was good and bacon was perfect. I think they came in orders of three or five people and he ordered three. Biscuits and gravy were nothing to rave about. He actually said one of the biscuits was quite tough and hard to eat. Super beautiful place in a small downtown area with an amazing piano in an old building on Main Street. I have to admit that the announced pastry case was rather disappointing, scones were not in the case and there was generally only one kind available. No danish and I could not see and bagels. 4.50$ is steep for a scone or is it me? Maybe they should just put it in a small bag instead of wrapping it very elaborate? I took an iced blueberry matcha with it that was surprisingly good. The hound lady at the register was a little arrogant and didn't have a smile for customers . I wish I would have time to come here at night with the piano going. Update! I already was on my way when I unwrapped the scone it was ice cold and so old that I could hardly break it. We stopped here for breakfast our second morning in town. Four of us on a Saturday morning and it's good that we arrived ahead of the crowd. It was busy when we arrived and mobbed by the time we left. Two of us had the Angela scramble and shared an order of the lemon zest pancakes. Another member of our party had waffle and bacon, and the fourth had eggs and bacon with toast. First, let me just rave about the lemon zest pancakes. We added blueberries and they were delicious. We agreed that they are the best commercial pancakes we've ever had. They arrived hot, still crisp, and with the nicest lemon flavor ever. With the blueberries, they were much like a lemon-blueberry turned into pancakes. Lovely. We both enjoyed the Angela scramble, a nice combination of egg, sausage, tomato, cheddar, and avocado. The little cup of fruit that accompanied it was small but it was all fresh. The other couple said their waffles and bacon were great. One had a vanilla latte, the other coffee. This coffee shop is Crossville's own "Central Perk" - eclectic decor, delicious coffee, and kind staff! I often drive past Crossville for work, and noticed a sign for Grinder House Coffee during my last trip. I ordered a Pumpkin Oat Chai with a Turkey Panini. Both were delicious- the panini was loaded with turkey, cheese, and rosemary, and came with a side of house-made chips. Busy on this Saturday morning at 9am. This place is more than a coffee shop! Full breakfast and lunch menu, both served all day. I ordered the Angela's Scramble....yummy! Nice portion size (we shared) and great flavor. For coffee I got the featured coffee, hibiscus honey oat latte... delicious Hubby got black coffee, dark, and he enjoyed that Plenty of tables, both high tops and low tops, couch and easy chair. And apparently they do live music at some point. Prices are typical (I hate discussing prices unless they are super low or super high and not worth it). So for our 2 coffees and one breakfast it was $24. Parking is on the street or a nearby small lot. I didn't drive here or park so I'm not really sure but for locals in sure they know the tricks. But if you're visiting this place is worth finding a parking space This place hits all the right buttons, plenty of space, great coffee and food, friendly staff. My only negative comment would be if you want an intimate place to perhaps read or study this might not be it unless you go at a quieter time of day. This is an authentic local coffeehouse in every sense of the word right down to the homemade-like pastries and up to the tin ceiling. It's kind of dark and cozy, and filled with old men chatting about religion, real estate agents trying to make a sale and college coeds. The joint felt like the place to see and be seen. We were served quickly, and my Americano was super hot, the hubs' latte foamy and creamy. The quiche was tasty with a perfect crumbly crust (a sure sign it was made with butter), and my husband was pleased to find B&G (biscuits and gravy) on the menu. Lots of sausage in that gravy! Great spot for coffee and food! Wonderful staff and great customer service. They make a really great mocha and the atmosphere is great to get comfortable and just enjoy your drink. Food was delish. I had a chicken caprese flatbread that was the special of the day. Two thumbs up! The next day I had the chicken salad croissant...I need more than two thumbs to give it the rating it truly deserves! The chicken salad mix with cranberry and pecans was amazing but how they toast the croissant is what really makes the sandwich my fave. Thankfully we are fully vaccinated for over 2 weeks now. Yet they have signs that they have taken the Tennessee pledge to sanitize and for air disinfection too. There's a table over yonder with 12 in the party. We will need to get quickly adjusted to the more laid back pandemic response down here, it's all based on comfort after all. We ordered a daddy's biscuit with gravy on the side, two Angela's scramble as well, one less sausage, one without sausage, they come with fruit. Added a caramel macchiato, one daddy's biscuit and one homemade cinnamon roll too. Grabbed a random latte to We just waited to take our masks off until the food arrived since our runner would not be wearing a mask bringing out our food at all. The bill total was $32.54. Coffee and tea were out in minutes, food is taking a while longer, it's been over 23 minutes, no cinnamon roll yet, that was supposed to be the first to come out. It's most likely due to the large party of 12. Most of the food was out by 25 minutes, except for the cinnamon roll. The daddy's biscuit was dried out and bland and brittle, it wasn't carb worthy at all, even the Smucker's strawberry didn't help much at all. The Angela's scramble was decent, mine was quite tasteless without the sausage in it, thus more garlic or seasoning would have helped it some. The eggs were okay, some wrinkled pan pieces in my portion. My husband liked his Angela's scrambled and the sausage had a bit of kick to it too. The cinnamon roll was okay, it wasn't warm and was a bit hard, additionally the icing was sugar based, cream cheese icing would have made it better for me. I was in town for three days and ate here twice. First was lunch-burger-delicious- thick & juicy-PERFECT! I returned for breakfast and Oh My Stars-had the breakfast flatbread and it was a tongue slapper! So good in fact-I took a picture. You don't want to miss this one! My friend and I stopped by after a hike to get lunch and coffee. We both ordered Walnut cranberry salad. It came on a large flat plate with raspberry dressing on the side. The salad was very good, and the dressing was not overly sweet. I was impressed by their coffee as well. It was by far better than Starbucks, and I enjoyed a cup of black deliciousness. The ambience did not disappoint either. The music motif was felt throughout the building, although I wasn't sure if they actually had live music there at any point. Finally, customer service was average. The lady who brought us our salads did not say a word, but the woman who I ordered from was very friendly. I guess it's a hit and miss. Yum! Loved the feel of this spot as soon as we stepped through the door. We missed their Friday night music, but will be back for it in the future! It has an artistic feel with some country jazz notes and feels like a cafe of friends. We purchased lunch, coffee and some delicious treats. The chocolate cake was to die for and took us several days to finish FYI! The coffee was spot on and smooth, making me regret not getting the largest size. Our food was delicious and fresh, and the options gave us a desire to return for more choices. My salad had just the right amount of tart to sweet and the house made dressing was the perfect topping.
