We love when we find a new diner! We have been disappointed with the selection and quality of restaurants in nearby Crossville. At the advice of some nice folks we met at church, went to Cookeville. Bravo Cafe is one of the highest rated by Yelpers. As soon as my wife walked in the door, she knew this humble, buzzing diner was going to be good! They ring a cowbell in the kitchen when orders are up. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Bravo Special Breakfast. The French Toast was amazing. She loved the cheesy grits and even the sausage patties. I opted for the Gyro platter. Their gyro is legit! Crispy fries and Greek Salad! I saw the cheesecake and had to have it. Not disappointed at all. We both enjoyed. An authentic diner. Personable service and good food. Should we relocate to Fairfield Glades, we will be making the drive to Bravo Cafe. More Cowbell! read more

We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was busy but we were seated very quickly. We had a party of 6 and the place was packed. But they got us sat down in 5 minutes. The options on the menu are vast. We had a little bit of everything. Everyone was pleased. The food was good and hot. The service was very good and attentive. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. Oh, but how looks can be deceiving! It will strike you as a small mom & pop country store & the decore doesn't really match. You'll notice decorum from its previous owner with exceptional food. The food was served hot and with not much wait at all. There were very large portions. We could have easily split a plate and had enough for both to have gotten a good meal. The service was spot on. We were met with smiles and given time to look over the menu. I loved the eggs benidect and home fries. The only negative I would have to point out is either bring cash or be prepared to pay 3.5% charge on your card you use. We were told it was set up that way by the previous owners. I hope the new owners change that soon as that could be an issue for some who don't carry cash. read more

I came here with my dad. The waitresses we had were very kind. The place isn't very big, but it makes up with the food. I ordered two slices of french toast with a side of bacon. Been eating here for over ten years. Everything on the menu is delicious. You don't feel like garbage After eating a good filling meal there either. The ingredients are super fresh, the cooks, waitresses, kitchen staff, all take pride in their work and you can tell they actually like being there. My go to dishes are the chicken Athena, the chicken piccata, the chicken Marsala, and the all the way bagel with lox and cream cheese. I didn't think their food was good but there's something about it the locals like because it's always packed in the mornings. I hate giving low ratings. Other than the service, the food was not all that great. My son said his was inedible, so they removed it from our bill. I had to take him somewhere else. He ordered the chicken alfredo and it didn't taste anything like it. Mine was an Omelet but it also was bland. I was excited it had Greek options, but it didn't taste like the Greek I am familiar with. The beet salad was just beets out of a can. I came here because I saw a review their gyros are as good as Tarpon Springs, it was breakfast time so I didn't try one this trip but I will next trip. I has the spinach Benny with potatoes and it was so perfect, the spinach was perfectly cooked and the hollandaise was so good. I will be bringing others back with me next time. New to Cooksville and it's only the second restaurant we have eaten in for the last three months due to the virus going on. Glad to see they took so many precautions. They only use every other table and have put plastic barriers between them. They hold up a sign board and ask if you've had any of the virus symptoms and if you answer yes to any of them they ask that you do take out only. They also take your forehead temperature. They wear gloves and a mask. No matter how you feel about this I'm glad to see if they're going the extra mile and taking proper precautions. The staff was very attentive and efficient and above all made you feel like you were special and they were glad that you stopped in. Oh, and on a sidenote their food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back and try some of their other meals. PS. they have baklava Baklava. Mel and Linda read more

There was no table seating available so we sat at the counter. The counter seats are a bit small so I was instantly uncomfortable. There maybe 5 or 6 counter seats, it took a bit of time for us to place a drink order. We placed our orders with our server. I ordered the chicken fried steak with over hard fried eggs. The steak was a frozen steak that was deep fried, not a fresh steak that was hand breaded. I wasn't impressed. I ordered my eggs over hard, they came out over easy. I just can't eat them that way. I can't get over the texture of a runny egg. I probably won't order that again. My husband ordered the 3 French toast with a side of sausage patties, he absolutely devoured his breakfast. He said his French Toast was just how he liked it. It was very custardy (soggy) exactly how he likes it. The serving is huge. He couldn't finish the entire thing. All in all we will be back and I'll try something new and be sure to sit at a table. read more
