For months I have been planning to have the carpet removed and hardwood flooring installed in my…read moreolder 50's era home. Unfortunately during the job, it was discovered that the 1/2" sub-flooring was damaged (previously or during the job). I chose to have it replaced, and while the contractor did replace it, they chose a thickness (between 1/2" to 3/4") by mistake. This resulted in the obvious "ridge" that can be seen in the pictures below. Now I was in a situation where, I'm facing either living with what feels like a "small rug" buried under my beautiful hardwood flooring OR pull it up and address the sub-floor height difference. You may be asking: how does Jason (BPS Southeast Flooring) fit in? During this hectic situation, I was looking for SOMEONE that I could TRUST to give me solid advice on the situation and my options. Specifically someone OTHER than the contractor who did the original carpet demo / flooring install. Jason delivered exactly the guidance I was looking for and more. He is extremely knowledgeable and serious about his profession (all things flooring including hardwood). He drove a total round trip of 1 hour, and showed up 20 minutes early. There was no sense that he needed to "sell" me on anything in particular, he only was there to give his opinion on the options and he did exactly that. Even his consulting fee was extremely reasonable (so much so that I doubled it in light of the value of the information and guidance I received). While I cannot attest to the actual "install job quality" that can be garnered from BPS Southeast Flooring (I have not hired them to install any flooring as of this review) , I feel VERY confident in continuing to do business with him for all my flooring needs now and in the future. And since I will be continuing this job myself, I will be purchasing any further flooring material from BPS Southeast Flooring in the future.

Jason at BPS Southeast was great to work with and was on top of things. He did our hardwood floors,…read morecarpet and Luxury Vinyl flooring in our house that we gutted. He helped us find exactly what we were looking for and his installers did a good job. I would definitely recommend BPS Southeast for any flooring needs.

We walked most of the isles when we found a hockey stick and an old pair of clip on roller skates i guess you would call them? An elderly lady walked over to us, very rudely told us she would and i quote "come to each of our houses and mess with our Sh*t" We weren't being rough, or even actually using them, we at the most took the hockey stick out its spot, put it back when we were finished and we were just looking at the Skates. Would NOT recommend coming here or even supporting the business.

Tonight I visited Dovetails & Rusty Nails while downtown for the Christmas events. When I saw the…read moreshop, I was immediately excited to go in because I genuinely love antiques and vintage items. I was with my three-year-old, who was absolutely mesmerized by the old toys and excitedly pointing things out as we went. He noticed an old fire truck with a detached metal ladder sitting beside it, picked it up briefly to show me, and asked if we could buy it. Before I could even respond, an older woman ran from behind the counter and forcefully ripped the metal ladder from my child's hand while loudly saying, "No, no, no." This was extremely inappropriate, aggressive, and uncalled for especially toward a small child. If my child had damaged something, I absolutely would have paid for it, which I stated immediately. But this was a loose metal piece from a toy we likely would have purchased if the situation had been handled with basic respect. This shop is not family-friendly at all. What should have been a fun, memorable family night was instantly ruined by the way we were treated. As this was my first time visiting Forest City, it left a very disappointing impression. I will not be returning, and I will be sharing this experience with others so families can be aware before visiting. I would not recommend supporting this business or spending a dime with them. I am extremely disappointed and had to explain to my child why this angry woman would do such a thing to him.
