We were in the neighborhood and noticed the great ratings. So we gave this place a try! I ordered a hot white chocolate mocha with raspberry. There's a drive- thru and dine in option for this coffee shop. The dine in options include a "bar" area near the entrance, a sitting area with tables, and outdoor/covered patio seating. They have many yummy looking pastries as well. Parking: street parking. Didn't notice a parking lot Ambience: relaxed, clean, quite in areas away from the café production. Service: fantastic. The barista was patient, welcoming as we were first timers, and helped us select our coffee. She also hand delivered The coffees to us. Coffee quality: delicious. Grindstone has been my go-to stop for locally roasted coffee and coffee drinks. The family that owns it is really nice and I usually get to have a quick chat with the Dad if he's working. Two mochas in this weekend and I am happy and caffeinated. Caffeine is my favorite drug, particularly from Grindstone. Last year I had the grilled cheese and tomato basil. This year I had an amazing bread pudding! That was the best warm bread pudding with a few shots of whipped cream on top. read more

Initially I was impressed with the quality of the coffee and the service was decent. I have also purchased at least 4 bags of coffee, multiple quiches and pastries from the shop in addition to probably a couple of dozen plus cups of coffee. This happens when I have business in Huntington. When I am there my orders are daily. However as time has gone on there seem to be some serious deficiencies with staff. I have now over the course of a few visits had a total of 5 cups of coffee which were made incorrectly. How difficult is it to squirt cane sugar into a cup? One issue is that two people end up involved in making a latte sweet and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand did. Other times it's just omitted by the single person making the order. Sunday I had guests in town staying at a local cabin. Two of us trekked down 5th Street hill to get three cups of coffee, sweet. Not only were they served with coffee dripping down the sides, but when we got back to the cabin not a single one had sweetener in it. Embarrassing when you had told your friends people this was a good place to get coffee. It's going to be a while before I stop again. When I do the place gets one chance to get it right. read more

Driving through on our way back to Indiana and decided to get some descent coffee and baked goods. What can I say, the coffee was great, the berry cinnamon roll was fantastic. This place had a drive though window, which one has to divert through a back alley a block away to get to. The window had what I think was a New Zealand flag, and a long beverage menu with a short food menu. My London Fog had various options for adding flavors or alternative milks, but I got the unmodified version. It wasn't too sweet, which is probably a good thing from a health perspective but made me wonder if adding a flavor would have been advisable. I did get double bags of Earl Grey and a satisfying enough tea experience. They are open early as a decent cafe should be, and from my search it seemed like this area only had one such shop. read more

We went through the drive - thru during COVID's peak and really liked what we received. So, on this trip to Huntington, we decided on coffee here now that they have reopened inside. I tried their flat white and an iced blueberry donut. I haven't had a great flat white since I was in Australia for my honeymoon... so Grindstone definitely hit the spot as an Aussie owned coffee shop. There is also a convenient drive thru. They have a pretty standard menu of espresso offerings and drip coffee. I ordered an Americano with cream and it was well made and tasty. In that respect it definitely fits the bill when you're wanting fresh coffee. read more
