Every single one of these people have been wonderful to my mother-in-law. She suffered a horrific stroke that has left her helpless and I mean to tell you, their job is unbelievably hard work. The things that they' are having to do- if you can only imagine- are the things no one would want to do to earn a living, yet they do it with a smile on their faces. They are amazing and seem to really care. They allow you to put cameras in there so we can watch her anytime we want to and speak to her over the camera microphone as well. This place is so nice and extremely upscale- Trust me as I went into many nursing home facilities and was disgusted by the sight and smell of them. I am so glad that I found The Carlyle and I wouldn't have it any other way. Every single business these days are struggling to find employees yet they contract out help when left short handed so I think leaving those past reviews in the past is a smart thing to do and look forward into the now and check this place out for yourself and your loved ones. I believe that the Carlyle failed to monitor and properly care for a UTI that my father had while in the Carlyle's care. I arrived to his room with him crying in excruciating pain and unable to talk (the last time I saw him, conversation was not a problem). I tried to get help from a nurse three times, explaining that something was horribly wrong--no sense of urgency whatsoever. I soon noticed blood in my father's catheter--blood that apparently the nurse and other staff member knew nothing about. I demanded that the facility call 911. The nurse was more concerned about filling out "paperwork" than calling 911. Upon arrival, the paramedics quickly identified signs of what they believed to be sepsis. At the ER, I was told that my father's catheter was clogged, that when they removed the catheter green pus came out with the catheter, that he had an acute kidney infection, and that they were treating him for sepsis. I would never in a million years recommend this nursing home to anyone. This never should have happened.

We were new to memory care because my dad was mom's caretaker until he passed away suddenly, so we had no idea was was good or bad or right or wrong with memory care. Let me just say...facility on Precinct Line Road in Colleyville, Bad! Silverado Southlake, Good! We moved mom to Southlake in January 2018. As with most Alzheimer's patients, mom has declined in the last year. I've had at least quarterly care plan meetings with the staff and they are always tweaking her care. The staff always calls me to remind me its time and schedule the meeting. I usually drop in unannounced and always find the staff engaged. The residents seem to have full days and the staff tries to engage the residents with activities. Mom doesn't know me any more, but just last week, on a Saturday, they had a fellow with a guitar singing old songs. Those residents, including my mom, where sitting in a circle singing along to those tunes. I sat down with her and watched the response. She knew those songs but not me :-) I have found the staff to be very good, when compared with my previous experience. Is it perfect? No. It wouldn't be perfect if you had your loved one in your home. Is the care exceptional? Yes! There has been some turnover of staff, but that seems to be the norm in the industry. It is a tough business. In my view, the residents receive excellent care. The communications are excellent. If something happens, like a fall, which will happen, they are on the phone as soon as it is discovered, even if its in the middle of the night. Frankly, after getting involved in a family council with the other facility, I have come to learn that some people complain no matter what. Most of the complainers aren't interested in problem solving. Most of the folks that complained the most were on their fifth or sixth facility. At some point, you gotta ask yourself...what is the constant denominator? In summary, I love Silverado Southlake and the staff. I could not bring my mother to my home and care for her better. She is always clean, and mostly happy, considering she has a 60 second memory loop. The staff seem to really care about taking care of these vulnerable people and in my view, provide the best care available.

When our mother had a stroke in the summer of 2024, she was placed under hospice care. It was clear…read morethat her quality of life was diminished. At first, Arcy Hospice checked all the boxes. However, it was abundantly apparent that the nurses and social worker were not familiar with stroke patients and the atypical pattern of decline seen in stroke patients. Nurse Amber yelled at the patient's daughter when the she called Amber out on several issues. These issues included but are not limited to: manipulating PPS scores (and other metrics) for administrative purposes to justify releasing patient from hospice care, inability to maintain professional conduct, and lacked any ability to show empathy. Nurses Debbie and Sharice were even less professional. Madi, the social worker, was a disappointment to our family as well. Please look elsewhere! The patient passed TWO WEEKS after being released from Arcy's Hospice 'care'. The thing that is MOST troubling is that not a single nurse or administrator reached out to offer condolences to the family after the patient passed. After almost a year on hospice, the family and the patient deserved more than silence. Arcy Hospice takes zero accountability and has no respect for the truth. The owner lacks integrity and offers nothing to mediate conflict between family members and the administrators and nurses. Please look at other options in the community. There are better hospices in Flower Mound and the surrounding area. Avoid Arcy - your loved one has an innate right to compassionate care that Arcy Hospice simply cannot provide.

We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. My mom was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Radiant Hospice was recommended by the physician so…read morethat's what we ultimately decided to go to. Since mom had 1-2 months to live, I thought this was the best option. Boy, was I wrong. Her nurse Vivian did not show up until the following day to admit mom. She did the appropriate paperwork, physical exam, and talked about hospice. She said she would start making weekly visits. I knew all the details because I had gone through this with my husband's hospice company. I am also a nurse so have done home health with various hospice companies. Let's just say I know how the process should work. The pastor and social worker worked day jobs so could only come in the evening. The social worker did not show up until 7 pm and mom told me to deal with her. Mom would not even talk to the pastor as she is not a religious person. had to have a biopsy done before she was put on hospice. Two days after hospice started, mom had to go to ER for chest pains. Well, that nullified the hospice admit so the paperwork and visits had to start all over again, which was a huge hassle. The main beef I have is lack of care. Mom had a cough. I asked for cough medicine. I got generic cough syrup from them. I asked for stronger pain medicine than what she had. They sent me liquid Tylenol. Everything medicine related I had to practically beg for. Doctor would not order anything else, except an appetite stimulant. Mom fell, hit her head, and had to go back to ER. This time, the hospice re-admit went more smoothly. After that, mom basically went downhill fast, as expected with her cancer. The first time she fell out of bed, it took four hours for the nurse to come and check her out. Despite buying a bed alarm for mom's bed, having a bedside commode and walker at bedside, falling became a regular habit. Since I reported mom's falls almost every day, I finally convinced Vivian finally to start making every other day visits to check mom out. I also got a hospital bed sent to the house to hopefully curb the falling incidents, which did help. Towards the end, Vivian got a home health aide to come out to bathe mom, which really helped. After she was in the hospital bed, the aide gave her sponge baths. She was wonderful with mom. The day mom passed, I called Vivian about 12 noon. She did not come out until about 3:30 pm after repeated phone calls. She did not even listen to her heart or take any vital signs, nor check to see if she really had passed. She relied on what I told her. She called the cremation people to set up her body transfer and then left. I could say more but I think this is enough. No, I would not recommend this agency. Vivian told me that she is in charge of the agency and keeps a small staff of 4-5 nurses intentionally at any given time. This is not the way to run an agency. From durable equipment screw ups to lack of care, I would not recommend this agency to anyone. They need to get their act together.

This hospice agency cared for my elderly mother for roughly 7 months and I have to say that it was…read moresuch a wonderful experience. All of the people from this agency that I had dealings with from the social worker, to the chaplain, to the nurse or aids, were all so caring and compassionate. I cared for my mother for 3-1/2 years all while battling cancer myself. For most of that time it was very stressful trying to care for us both while holding down a full-time job. If I wasn't taking her to an appointment, I was going to appointments of my own. I was referred to Hospice Community Care by my mother's primary care physician's office. My reaching out to them was the best thing I ever did. They took an immense amount of pressure and stress off of me. I immediately felt comfortable with them and had such trust in them. My mother passed on January 31st and since then they've checked in on me multiple times just to see how I'm doing. I would absolutely recommend them without hesitation.
