    Blind Date with a Book

Love this inclusive bookstore. The location is fantastic-love that part of 6th Ave and parking was easy to find. Great mix of books and gift items. Even found a print I plan on framing. I appreciated the way the book seller was knowledgeable about the books and engaged in offering recommendations. The little flourishes (merch such as Grit City Books coffee beans, books by local authors, and Blind Date w/ a Book) are exemplary, showing the thought and care that must have gone on behind the scenes. Everything was priced fairly and of good value.

Was able to cross off a bucket list must do by attending a fireside conversation for a book release with not one but two authors this evening! Grit City Books was the perfect location and the customer service was excellent! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, the environment was clean and well organized as well. It was overall just a perfect experience and I'm very much looking forward to going back for further visits!

I was worried about parking but it was easy to snag a spot on the street right in front of the shop - I went on a Saturday morning pretty soon after they opened. The shop is so cute with a great selection. The kids section was so great and had a table and a nook with pillows for kids to read. They also had a really cute window display and some cozy chairs by a fireplace. Some of my best memories as a child are spending hours reading in a bookstore and these days a lot of bookstores don't encourage people to linger and read, so it was really lovely to see the cozy vibes here that encourage folks to stick around. The staff were so friendly and I walked out with quite a few books I've been looking for for ages, including one by Mother Moon for my toddler

this is for the employee who complimented my haircut/had a similar hair type lol (didnt wanna hold…read moreup customers)- just look up diy wolf cut vids and any of the ones with two ponytails (1 in the front and 1 in the back) is pretty much exactly what i did. with curly/wavy hair you can play it sloppy and fast and it still looks good and saves you a ton of money i also use a co-wash instead of shampooing every wash, (and use a clarifying shampoo two to three weeks to remove build up) it helps retain moisture and curl + a satin pillowcase at night to reduce breakage and dryness. sorry this is not really a review LMAO

Great selection and solid pricing. Most books fall in the $7-$20 range, with a nice mix of new and…read moreused titles. The checkout experience was smooth, though the space is a bit tight and there aren't many cashiers, so I could see it getting crowded during busy times. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the buyback program. I brought in 12 books that were new or in like-new condition (no damage, no markings and some hadn't even been read) and was offered just $0.50 per book, totaling $7 for all 12. This included three complete series and several standalone titles. Out of curiosity, I checked their shelves and saw some of the same books priced between $8-$15 each. Overall, it's a great place to shop for books, but I wouldn't recommend selling here if you're hoping to get fair value especially if your books are in excellent condition.
