Adorable shop filled with all sorts of rocks and other trinkets that you didn't know you needed, but most certainly do! I ended up coming here because I heard they were a great source of stands for Monkeyshines/glass orbs. The selection didn't disappoint and they had multiple options to choose from. The shop keep said that I was welcome to bring my piece in so I could size it correctly, which is awesome! I was able to find an item on the shelf that was a similar size so I opted to wing it - so cute! A lot of the store is rocks/minerals, but they have a lot of things that make great gifts, fancy chocolates included. Some things seem like they might be on the more expensive side, but it most certainly doesn't hurt to pop your head in a see if they have what you want! read more

Loved this store and the variety in their old location. We have only visited twice since they have moved. Significantly less variety now and parking is an absolute nightmare. I wish they were in the marketplace on the other side of Pt. Ruston. It's much more accessible and better suited. We spent 20 min trying to figure out parking today specifically coming to visit this store and ended up leaving. read more

This shop is located in a new development directed toward tourists. I drove down the street 4 times before I could find parking. Once inside the employee told me that there is parking in a garage in the back of the building - which I saw no signage for, I ended up parking in reserved parking and had to make a quick escape. There were a lot of nice, fun, cute gifts in the store, but the prices were incredibly high! As a collector of crystals, rocks, minerals, and metaphysical tools, I frequent shops of these items often. I am not sure if the items were SO OVERPRICED because the owner does not know the right amount she should be paying for the items (and buying at the wrong markup) or if it is because this is aimed at being a gift shop in a touristy area. If you are looking to kill some time, stop in and enjoy the sites, but there are many other places in the city where you can get a better bang for your buck. read more

I finally made it into this store! The staff here is sooo pleasant, hospitable, and accommodating. Right next to the entrance is a treasure of stickers for $0.50 cents a piece. I spent the first 15 minutes at the store going through ALL the stickers then Jalene (one of the employees. Forgive me if I missed spelled your name) brought another mid-size container full of stickers. No she didn't dump them in she was kind about the situation don't worry guys. Let's just say I spent $15 dollars on sticker alone. The store is truly like walking into a Mermaid's Treasure Cove. If you are looking for the perfect gift store for uniques finds this is the place. The store has a prayer request wall, (always nice to know someone is praying for you) the store even host art classes for kids and if you're kid is like mine they are probably really into slime right now and they had a TON of slime kits and slime stuff and they host a slime mailing class. I fell in love with the store and I will be back soon. You know it's amazing store and amazing people that work there if your customers come back to help you out in the store. read more

I saw this store pop up on Facebook a while back and saw that they were going to open at Point Ruston, which is super exciting as someone who grew up fascinated by mermaids. I finally got to visit last weekend and the store was more gorgeous in person, it felt like I was entering a treasure trove of wonders! I was immediately drawn to the crystals which they had in different cuts, shapes, and even on different types of accessories. The owners were extremely pleasant and friendly during our visit as they shared with us different bits of information about the store. They also have truffles which are divine and huge, my boyfriend and I shared the mocha, smores and unicorn which were all fantastic. I loved the unicorn as it was white chocolate so if you are a white chocolate fan, there are also different ones with berries! They even have a punch card for truffle purchases and on Thursdays they have double punches, so what a steal! I also bought a rose quartz heart and a gorgeous jellyfish pendent. The prices are fair and there are so many different things to look at and buy for all ages. They also require you sanitize before touching anything, which I appreciate very much. Definitely looking forward to coming back for truffles and other things next time I'm around Point Rustion! read more

This is probably about my 5th or 6th time at this store (right across the street from my favorite bubble tea place Bambu, and I don't leave the area without stopping into this store! Thoughtfully curated and featuring fun, trendy items, crystals, marvel, crafts, this place is a literally the mecca if you need to buy somebody a gift. The staff that I believe owns the store is always super friendly, and always changing up their inventory which makes for a fun visit each and every time. Our loot this time around were a handful of Marvel, Zelda stickers, and a Groot keychain. Like the name of the store describes, this store definitely has some great quirks. I don't even know where to start... We absolutely love this shop. I am so grateful that I found it. I was searching high and low for some time to find a place that sold crystals. I ended up finding stunning crystals here... and so much more! The amount of beautiful art and variety of quality products allows you to search for hours; finding something for everyone you know. My advice- take your time and look throughly. They have a fantastic selection of lovely stuff! They always have something new to discover. Another thing that keeps bringing me back are the owners, Janelle and Charles! They are both so creative, knowledgeable, genuine, down to earth, and most importantly- KIND. The amount of time and energy they put into every single one of their customers that walk through their doors is absolutely amazing. They take the time to get to know everyone and actually care about them. They give you a very safe feeling being in their shop. Also, they are very active in their community. They help numerous amounts of people on the streets. In Washington we have very cold winters and they help with warm clothes and much more. I absolutely love this little shop. It is full of unique items from artwork created by local artists, beautiful gems, crystals, jewelry, to art supplies, stickers, funny coffee mugs, hats, purses etc. If you visit, be sure to try the amazing truffles! They also offer different art classes, and have fun, live, Facebook shows that showcase different items so you can get a feel of what type of items they have. The owners are kind and helpful and they care and do so much for the community. This is my favorite place...not only because of the unique items I find there, but because when I walk in the door, I feel like family. read more

One Star...I will not be returning. After being a customer for over a year now I am so over it. I have found the items I need the most much cheaper in other places and as an artist just starting out her career I chose my pocket book. I love their new store directly across the street from the old location! They do so much more than a art studio and gift shop. They have all sorts of classes for all ages (slime, paint, rocks, etc) and give back to the community with food drives and essentials. Helping the street people with food and warm hats /socks and with care packages collected with the help of the Manic Mermaid friends. There's also a free official library stand to trade books. They have allot to offer. Plus their live shows every Wednesday through Sunday are fun to watch when you just can't get out of the house to shop or just something to watch, its entertaining. Sometimes it can get very competitive to get your "sold" for the item in before the next person says it! It got to the point of using a preemptive "sold! whatever it is!" to the next item up. haha The staff is very knowledgeable so don't hesitate to ask questions about anything they have. They run all sorts of sale opportunities every week with specials on allot of items and on certain days you can come in dressed in whatever character its designated and get cool deals. That's fun! And they rent space out to local artists. Truffles!! Don't forget to get your Truffle card punched.. My favorite is the huckleberry truffle. They also offer a makers area with supplies included, so you can come in as much as you want and create your art the way you want for a small monthly fee. Need art space for a private party? I came in for the first time the other day. The store has a variety of eclectic/artistic/vintage items displayed & tucked into vintage furniture. There were so many unique things that I oohed & aahed over. Then I met Dennis. He was setting up an easel to create a watercolor painting. The next thing I knew I was as getting free lesson which led me to signing up for a VERY reasonably priced class. Janelle is the owner & she is just a genuine person who made me feel like I had known her forever. She's also very involved in this community & the revitalization of the Lincoln district. I was so happy to finally get over to Manic Mermaid. This is an adorable store with great gift ideas everywhere. I brought my pooch as I take her everywhere I go, and she was welcomed in. I am always grateful to business owners that realize we love our pets. They even had a great section with pet gifts. I was invited to come back to paint Hope rocks. This is a store that makes you feel like family. I will definitely be shopping here. BTW my daughter loves the gift I bought her today.
