Expanded review: 5 STARS
I have been a member of GRIT60, formally BODYTEX for going on 2 years. The gym is extremely clean, well stocked with various types of equipment, both weighted and otherwise. My personality, can be easily bored, and my musculature can become stagnant with the same daily routine. So between the changing routines, which address muscle confusion, the variety of different weights, which give me the opportunity for progressive overload, and add a program that advocates time under tension, it all keeps me focused and improving. In my opinion the classes do not get easier, as time goes on, thankfully the opposite, which for me is a great thing. Now there are plenty of gyms around that have many of the same things. The reason I am loyal to GRIT60, is for the intangibles. Starting out with the instructors. As the Head Coach, I will single out Vida who is well deserved for that position. Not only for his skill at giving classes, but for his being involved in not only the choosing of the exercises, but in the order they appear, which is key. Every time I think he is at the top of his game, he surprises me. Always keeping things fresh for the members, whether it's an outdoor workout, or a get together at a local restaurant, "Just Because". I will mention the other stellar coaches in the order of my meeting them. Michelle, David, Santiago, Alli, Francisco, Laurence, Jinnie, and Libia. I will describe all coaches as extremely personable, knowledgeable, always willing to give a much needed tweak on form, and word of encouragement. They also give options on how members with different levels and abilities can do exercises and avoid unnecessary strain. Each and every one is a people person, who are professional, friendly, and motivational. The members are a nice friendly bunch, there for the workouts, who are helpful to newer guests and members. The new owner Chantal is welcoming, outgoing, and hands on. The few times I have gone to her, she was both helpful and accommodating. The very personable people at the front desk David and Hillary provide a great first impression. They are outgoing, attentive, truly happy to greet you, and also willing to check you in. Most of the time, when I have called and not left a message on the answering service, I still received a call back, which to me is a indication of going that extra step and sign of great customer service. If I left anyone or anything out, forgive me. My advice is give it a try, there are great introductory offers to get to know this great gym and it's equally welcoming community. Good luck. read more
