The moment we had our date set, I e-mailed him right away to make sure he doesn't fill up that day! Kevin has such a wide selection of music. I loved how incredibly versatile he was and his voice is so warm and inviting. We hired him to play when the guests starts arriving, the processional, and our cocktail hour. I sent him our music selection about 1-2 month before and a lot of them he did need to learn. But I love how he wasn't pushy in any way to make us pick from his selection of music. He was more concerned that we get the music selection we want and he learned them all for our wedding. I can't stop getting rave reviews from our guests on how amazing Kevin did. I can't stop raving either about how awesome he is. His rendition of the songs we picked turned out so beautifully, I had tears coming down before I even began walking. I booked Riddims Junkanoo Band in April 2026 for my July 18, 2026, 50th birthday milestone…read morecelebration. I intentionally booked several months in advance to secure my event date and selected the 10-12 band member package because I wanted to create a memorable cultural experience for my guests. My performance time was scheduled for 9:30 p.m., and I made it clear from the beginning that this time was not flexible because it was coordinated with the overall flow of the evening. Throughout the planning process, communication was responsive, and I had no concerns leading up to the event. Unfortunately, on the day of the event, I was asked to submit the final payment earlier that day, although we had originally agreed that final payment would be made upon the band's arrival. Later that evening, my MC informed me that Rick had advised the band would not arrive until approximately 11:00 p.m., about 90 minutes after the agreed performance time. By the time the band arrived, many of my guests had already left, which meant they missed the 10-12 member Junkanoo experience I had carefully planned and invested in months in advance. Because my event began at 7:00 p.m., the performance occurred near the end of the evening, significantly impacting the timeline and guest experience that had been discussed and agreed upon beforehand. To their credit, the performers who arrived brought great energy. The female dancer was especially engaging, and the guests who remained thoroughly enjoyed the performance. In fact, some guests who were preparing to leave turned around and came back inside when they saw the band lining up outside. I genuinely appreciate the enthusiasm and entertainment they provided once they arrived. However, for milestone celebrations, weddings, anniversaries, or other events where timing and guest flow are critical, punctuality is just as important as performance quality. In my opinion, a delay of a few minutes is understandable, but a 90-minute delay after an agreed-upon performance time is not. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company for events where adherence to a scheduled timeline is an important part of the overall guest experience.

He doesn't play favorites, he won't be swayed by drunk nor flirt, he is straight and true to the end of the night and in a town, or bar, full of shady folk that is highly admirable IMO. I've been going to that spot to karaoke with Bernie for about a year now. There's a great group of regulars, who are quite entertaining too. But back to Bernie... Bernie is always fair in the karaoke lineup. If you put in a song, you sing. In that order. Seems simple enough, but there's plenty of other KJs in and around Miami, who don't play by any rules and let their friends and regulars hog the mic. Bernie even keeps an eye on those folks who are trying to sneak in and duet on every person's song - which can actually be pretty hilarious to watch sometimes.
