Check-In - 10/10 - The check-in experience was seamless. The staff was welcoming, professional, and thorough. Before we even headed to our room, they asked if there was anything we needed. We requested extra towels, and less than 10 minutes after arriving in our room, they were already at our door delivering them. That's the kind of service that immediately makes a great first impression. Amenities - 10/10 - The property features two pools: an adults-only pool and a family-friendly pool. There is also a private beach with attentive service and beautiful views. For families, there are childcare options available, making it easy for parents to enjoy some downtime. The fitness center deserves its own mention--it is easily one of the best hotel gyms I've ever seen. It was spacious, modern, and equipped with just about everything you could need for a great workout. Room - 10/10 - It was spacious, well-designed, and had a comfortable seating area. The lighting throughout the room was excellent, all of the outlets worked perfectly, and there was plenty of storage space. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. One of my favorite features was the in-room water filtration station. Having access to filtered water without leaving the room was incredibly convenient and something I wish more hotels offered. The bathroom was equally impressive. It featured beautiful marble finishes, a massive soaking tub, a spacious shower, and large vanity areas. Everything felt luxurious and well-maintained. The closet space was generous, and the room included robes, slippers, and even a yoga mat for guests who wanted to participate in the hotel's wellness activities. Food - 5/10 The only part of our stay that didn't quite meet expectations was the room service we ordered one evening from the bar. I had the lobster roll and my husband ordered sliders. While everything arrived promptly and was presented nicely, the portions were surprisingly small for the price, and the flavors didn't quite live up to what we were expecting. For around $75, we were hoping for a more satisfying and elevated dining experience, especially considering how exceptional everything else at the hotel was. It wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't match the level of quality and attention to detail we experienced in every other aspect of our stay. Honeymoon Surprise My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon, and the hotel made the experience even more special. They provided us with a disposable camera to capture memories during our stay. When you check out, you simply return the camera, and they develop the photos and send them to you at no additional cost Service - 10/10 - The staff was responsive, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Housekeeping visited twice daily to refresh the room and ensure we had everything we needed. I also appreciated that each room has a doorbell, so housekeeping could notify guests before entering. There was even a button outside the room to indicate whether or not you wanted service, which was both convenient and respectful of guest privacy. Cost - This property is definitely on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it was worth it. We've stayed at more expensive hotels that offered significantly less. It's important to remember that this is South Beach, where premium pricing is expected. If possible, I would recommend looking for promotions or special offers to make the stay even sweeter. Final Thoughts We honestly didn't get to experience everything this hotel has to offer because we spent so much time exploring Miami. Even so, we were blown away by our experience. Between the restaurants, bars, spa, wellness activities, pools, beach access, and exceptional service, there is truly something for everyone. Every detail felt intentional and thoughtfully designed. If you're considering staying here, I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. We also learned that they have locations in New York, Hawaii, Japan, and several other destinations. They have pretty solid local craft beers on tap, so don't think you're going to be let down by trying a beer. They also offer a ladies hour from 6-7 pm which is definitely the time to come. Generally though, Epic isn't horrible, it's just lost some of the luster it once had unfortunately. First off, all of the team here we've come across have been great. Friendly, welcoming, etc. Service for the most part has been solid so far. Where they've fallen down is related to the space itself. The building isn't as striking as it once was. You walk in and the high ceilings and wide spaces are still pretty impressive. Waterfront views and vibes are great. Thing is, the unique elements aren't really there like I remember. Compared to other properties in this category, that stood out. But not a huge issue for us. Zuma is a vibe, unfortunately, Area 31 is under renovation (at least the restaurant area). When we got to the room. It wasn't bad. Good size, decently appointed. It wasn't completely worn but it definitely felt aged. The furniture is showing its age some. Cleaning was just ok and seemed a little rushed. It wasn't nasty so don't want to overemphasize too much. Curtains seem like they've been in service a while. Things like pillows were pretty flat. Things like the privacy button/door bell wasn't functioning so we had to ask for a privacy hang tag. Again, none of this was abysmal, just not what we expected and could have been better. But again, not horrible enough for us to pack up and walk out. I'd give the room a B-, my wife gave it a C+. We got a room on a higher floor with a sizable balcony which was a nice touch. Looks a little like maintenance on it was also rushed. Overall, I think Epic still has "good bones" and a ton of potential to get back to its previous days. She explained that the restaurant was severely understaffed after three employees had recently quit, and the remaining team members were doing the best they could while covering multiple roles. Kayla suggested that we place our order downstairs and assured us she would personally bring our food up to the rooftop. We ordered burgers, and while we waited, she kindly provided complimentary drinks. Throughout the entire experience, Kayla was professional, attentive, and extremely gracious. She handled a difficult situation with a positive attitude and made us feel valued as guests. It was clear that the issue was not with Kayla or the staff who showed up that day. In fact, there were only three people working brunch: Kayla, the chef, and the waiter. Considering the circumstances, they did an incredible job. Kayla truly made the best of a bad situation and deserves recognition for her efforts. My disappointment is with management's handling of reservations. If the rooftop was not ready to receive customers at opening, reservations should not have been accepted, or guests should have been notified in advance. We drove all the way from Tampa to visit Elevar, and it was frustrating to arrive on time for our reservation only to find the venue unavailable and have to wait for service to begin. That said, the rooftop is a really cute spot with a great atmosphere, and there was plenty of convenient street parking. Because of Kayla's outstanding service and the effort made by the small team working that day, we would absolutely return. I ordered the Bourbon Night, made with Bulleit Bourbon, raspberry, peach, orange bitters, and rosemary. It was flavorful, balanced, and definitely had a solid bourbon kick. My friend ordered the Paloma, which comes with tequila, grapefruit, lime, and grapefruit soda. He later switched to a vodka version and enjoyed that one even more. Overall, we had a great time. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was excellent, and the venue offers much more than just drinks. If you are looking for a rooftop spot in Wynwood that is comfortable, clean, and not overly crowded, this is worth checking out.
