The instructors (6th and 4th-degree black belts) are extremely knowledgeable and take the time to walk you through the movements. Even though the style focuses on minimal energy expenditure and using the opponent's energy against themselves, it's also a great workout and helps me decompress for the week. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to explore the Aikido martial arts.

Minimal breaks however go at your own pace. I attended the Box N Glow class so the lights were off and I feel like it took the pressure off of looking like a beginner or getting tired mid way through class. This event was to fundraiser and build awareness to the special Olympics Organization for Howard county. There were snacks, a mocktail and a two free raffle tickets to enter a for vouchers to a plethora of places from game night to spa days. It was an extremely well organized event with awesome staff. If I lived closer, I would join!

The one in Elliott City is much nicer than the one in Columbia. The one in Columbia is always crowded, not as clean or as well maintained. This is why I joined the Columbia Athletic Club.

Per the instructions on groupon, I emailed Fran so that I could create a log in online but I didn't hear back from her so I called the office. Once my account was created, I was able to sign up for classes. I was informed before I took any classes I would need to take the Intro to Equipment class. Fran was the instructor. She was patient and helpful as it was my first time and I needed specialized attention. For my second session, I took Reformer I & II with Doreen. Foe my last session I took Tower with a substitute for Doreen. All the instructors were patient, helpful, and friendly. They ask if anyone had injuries and they walk around and if your technique is wrong they adjust and correct you which I greatly appreciated. The classes were challenging to me since I am not good at following directions. Also, if you don't remember instructions well, I recommend taking Intro to Equipment multiple times. I had to look around to see how to do things as I am a visual learner, not an audio learner. The facility is tucked away in the corner and is not visible if you are in the parking lot. Fortunately I saw someone wearing athletic clothes and followed them. The facility is clean and bright. There are two individual restrooms. There is a main room with cubbies. The reformer room also had cubbies. The reformer room was slightly warm even with ceiling fans so I dressed lighter the second and third session. I enjoyed my experience, but could have benefitted from more intro classes. The classes were much different than my normal cardio and strength training classes at my gym. The pace was slower and it was a great way to relieve stress. I highly recommend Core Fitness for Pilates.

We found this place almost 4 years ago, after coming out of a kumon center across the street…read more Outside was hung with grand opening banners, so we decided to stop in and check it out. The Master (surprisingly) was young, but after one trial class, my 7 year old daughter was hooked. She loved how Master Andrew made classes fun, entertaining, and filled with laughter, but also included times for serious learning accordingly. He understands if the kids are having a difficult time with certain forms, but continues to encourage them which helps give them that push to continue, rather than to quit. This dojo is also run by the most family-oriented family, whom (from what I've seen) all remembers each students and their families names. They are constantly sanitizing and keeping the place clean. Yes, even before covid hit. 4 years later, my daughter who started out as a no belt, holds a second degree black belt. Thank you to Master Andrew and Master Yang for having superb positive teaching values for the children.

We've been going to JS TKD for several months now, and I've been waiting to write a review…read more Master Andrew is provides a perfect balance of kindness and structure for the kids to learn the principles of TKD. My son struggles with paying attention in school, but here he loves "focusing" and learning new techniques. It's the right balance of challenge and accomplishment. The facility is nice enough, there is enough room for all the kids to spread out. Class sizes are around 12-15, which is perfect. Belt progression is not guaranteed, and belt testing is serious. Master Andrew trains his students to be competitive and many do participate in state and national competitions, but we're only white belt, so a ways to go still. If you're looking for a family-friendly, flexible, fun and competitive environment, this is the place.

They have private showers rooms just in case you need your space like I do because usually I get ready for work at the gym. There is free coffee if you need a boost before working out. Basically the only thing I had to provide were the participants and the cake. The instruction time was super fun for the kids and even one of the dad's participated. Everyone had a great time and I would consider having another party there. My daughter had never done any form of martial arts before. She had both boys and girls present. Time spent at Tristar was so enjoyable she has asked when she can do it again. Other parents have told me their kids were equally excited. I would not have changed a thing. Thanks so much Tristar.
