The project cost us almost $1800 more than the many invoices had indicated & even though they had all the material costs up front, they refused to deliver them until the labor costs (including the extra $1800) were paid on full, We did not get the installation agreement until we paid in full, To demand labor costs without telling you what your paying for seems questionable and to refuse to deliver materials that have been paid for until you pay labor costs in full is certainly not a common business practice. We're happy with the product, not with the store.

Since we were relocating from out of state, we wanted the flooring done before we arrived. We even had our realtor leave a lockbox so measurements could be taken in advance. We finalized the details and paid the deposit on June 26th -- then communication completely dropped off. No updates. No responses to follow-ups. Nothing. My husband finally drove down to Florida on July 7th to figure out what was going on -- only to find that demo had just started, two weeks later. Worse, the wrong areas were demoed, including our kitchen, hallway, and bathroom, which delayed work on our daughter's room. That alone made this experience extremely stressful for our family. Installation didn't begin until July 14th, and our furniture (already delayed and sitting in storage) was scheduled to arrive the 18th. Flooring was incomplete, and we were told if we delayed furniture again, they couldn't guarantee a future delivery date. We ended up picking up additional materials ourselves on July 21st, just to keep things moving. I had to call again on the 23rd to find out when they'd finish. They finally came on July 26th to complete the last room. The crew was friendly and the floors look nice now, but we had to ask them to reinstall all the doors and finish the master bathroom. The lack of communication throughout this entire process was unacceptable. We still have more rooms to do, but we will not be using Flooring Master again. We can't recommend them to anyone.

Initially, we decided to go with them believing that their wood was made in the USA as we were told. The wood was delivered with "made in China" all over the boxes. When I wrote an email about my concerns, I received no reply. Sheena lacks knowledge about the process of tile tear out and installation. She told us the process would take 3 days...it ended up taking 2 weeks and they didn't really cover things well. It was a MESS! We had no washer and dryer hooked up for 2 weeks and our food in the pantry was covered in dust and inedible. We were told the day of installation that our concrete was high in moisture and charged an additional $3,000.00 for sealant; no one had tested the floor before installation? It was a nightmare; being told people would work over the weekend, when no one came; not being fully prepared or informed of the process; being told things that were not true, like them providing a cleaning service after they are finished; having unexpected fees added; and receiving little to no communication from the office even after I had expressed my frustration and concerns. I like to support small businesses, but if you are looking for a floor, I would go with big companies who are reliable and professional. The installers were great and did a wonderful job, but we were more than disappointed with the service at Simple Floors in Lutz.
