That's all the nice things I have to say about this 0 star hotel. If it was one block off the beach, it would have closed years ago. This is THE WORST hotel I've ever stayed in, and I once spent a night at the Hotel Carter in NYC the same night a hooker was murdered and found dismembered in a garbage bag. If you must stay here for whatever sick reason (self hate? desire to torture yourself?) DO NOT stay in a double bed room. However big your party is, stay in a room with a single bed. The room I stayed in with my family had two beds, but one of them was right next to the shower (yes, the shower is in the room. no separation whatsoever) and had an air conditioner blowing on your head all night. The sink is in the main room as well. The toilet is "separate" but it's in a tiny closet with a pole almost blocking it. Is this even legal? No way the room was up to code. The wall near the shower/bed was cracking and showed signs of black mold. The carpet was so filthy it turned my kids feet black. We all slept on top of the covers, afraid to even see the quality (or lack thereof) of the bed sheets. The room felt like a prison cell but somehow worse. My mother in law stayed in a room with a single bed. The bathroom was separated from the main room. It was noticeably better, but sleeping on the beach in a tent would have been better, too. This hotel is NOT kid friendly. The staff seemed upset we even brought kids. The kiddie pool was drained. Don't bring your kids here unless you want to punish them for being bad. I don't know how this place calls itself a 2 star hotel. It is literally the bottom of the barrel. Absolutely disgusting. Stay somewhere else.

I hate to even give one star. We visited this hotel in January for a wedding reception for our…read moredaughter. We thought all was okay. I reached out to meet with them in March to go over some things and was bothered that we had no written agreement. My questions were answered, left thinking everything was fine. The next day I receive an email not even the decency of a phone call to inform us the wedding reception is not in line with the hotel whatever that means and they canceled the reservation for September, 5 months before the wedding. Needless to say they are very dishonest, the reason they gave doesn't hold up. We had spoken at length with the chef about meals, music, dancing area and was now told the reason was, they don't do that kind of reception! We also knew of noise restrictions for Ocean Grove and booked DJ accordingly. My personal feeling is they booked the entire hotel for 3 days including the day we reserved. We booked the entire hotel and this boils down to they got a better offer with more money for full booking. After receiving this email I went on the hotel booking site and saw all three days blocked which is not what we reserved. We had reserved the whole hotel for Saturday, When I questioned this I was told they had blocked the 3 days for us. Not true, we never asked for that. My advice, stay away or get in writing from very beginning so you can take legal recourse if this happens to you. We are left scrambling to find a venue. On a side note I went on their site this morning, that weekend is still blocked and we were already canceled so that speaks for itself! As far as we are concerned at this point, we feel this happened for a reason!

The hotel is beautiful and it felt like every single piece of furniture and decorations were chosen intentionally. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the phenomenal, friendly and attentive service from manager Emily. Truly a gem of a person, and made sure everything we needed was available. Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. If you're looking for a quick vacation out of this city, this is the place, so easy to get to, the town has wonderful restaurants/bars and the beach was beautiful (even if it was too cold to hang out). Can't wait to find a reason to return.

We went to our room and saw a similar style the bathroom was huge , staying on there with the Victorian beach home theme. Tips: 1. I wouldn't recommend coming with children 2. This place is made for R+R it's calming and refreshing not really a party central. 3. Tons to do in the area read up before going or you will feel overwhelmed! She gives you a guide when you walk in but , the town is catered to going out so you have tons to choose from. 4. Extra pillows are in the closet. 5. You are super close to the beach! Pack a bathing suit if the weather calls for it.

Breakfast was delicious and generous, beautifully presented and impeccably served by Anthony, the simpatico founder and owner. His kind wife Maureen bakes muffins, coffee cakes and cookies from scratch, and they are marvelous. Instead of a huge flat screen tv dominating the room, the tv was just the right size -and included are Netflix and Amazon Prime. We look forward to our next stay at The Tower Cottage.

You also couldn't enjoy having the windows open because of the mold in the sills. I asked for new sheets as mine looked disheveled under the bed spread that had stains on it. The innkeeper I spoke to when I made my reservation (I called before doing so since I had a few questions) was very helpful and patient. I believe his name was Kevin. The weekend I stayed there, Jeremy was on duty and he was very helpful and courteous. Our room was lovely and our bathroom was huge. The porches on multiple levels are so nice and a great spot to relax. We paid such a great price for being so close to the beach and on a main street of town. They have AC too, which is really nice and not found in every older house/inn around town. I hope to return to The Quaker Inn and explore more of Ocean Grove!

I had seen the Chateau Inn and Suites but since it was about ten more minutes away, I hadn't stayed there yet. When I looked into booking, Sundays were available for one night stays, so I booked a standard queen room. About a week or so before my stay I was reading reviews to get a feel for the place, coffee situation (very important!!) parking etc. and someone mentioned that they do not have elevators. I have a lot of medical issues so this was a big red flag for me and I had not seen it mentioned anywhere. I gave them a call and asked if they could give me a room on the first floor and they told me they'd be happy to, which eased my worries. The parking was described in the reviews as difficult to say the least - it's a very small lot and first come first served. They do have additional parking across the street as well at the station but if you are anything like me and pack for a week even though it's only a night, you definitely want a close spot to carry all of your thirty bags inside. (That being said, and also now that I know their staff is so helpful, as you'll see in my photos I do have a rather gigantic vehicle so I think when I stay here next I will take them up on the additional parking lot offer!!) But this time, I did back my gigantic van into one of the spots and everything worked out just fine so please know it can be done. Walking over to the main entrance I was surrounded by lush hostas, classic beach bicycles and that lovely gray shaker siding that just screams "the shore" and made me super happy. I was greeted inside by Jeff who made me feel very welcome. He then told me that since I had requested the ground floor but they hadn't any more of my specific room on this floor, they upgraded me to a double queen suite with a kitchenette and patio. (I was completely floored by this and thanked him since I needed the ground floor due to a medical issue. It was really important to me and they took it so seriously, it really meant so much.) Jeff gave me a tour of the main reception area and informed me of all of the complimentary refreshments, amenities, beach information and rentals. He offered suggestions on local food and any other businesses should I need them. He seemed very well-informed and experienced on both the area and his work in general. He helped carry my bags to my room and pointed some cool things out along the way. Jeff definitely elevated my experience from the second I walked in that beautiful door and is a perfect first and lasting impression for the Chateau. The incredible room, I imagine, will also be in my memory for a pretty long while. Entering on your very own red brick patio with a real heavy brass key is a kind of charming you cannot buy at a big hotel chain. It just feels a certain way, very North East and classic. The beds are big, fluffy, and the best part is that there is no itchy cover on top - they have giant white (I think down??) quilts and huge pillows, four on each bed. I noticed that there were also a variety of pillows - each bed had two soft and two firm (I'm crazy about my pillows and bring a tiny neck pillow with me but I didn't even need it.) Great mattress, extremely comfortable, like sleeping in a nest of clouds. Impeccably clean. Perfection. The kitchen looked brand new. And spotless. (I even recognized the Kitchen Aid oven as a very high end oven, the Café series maybe??) Beautifully done and a Keurig machine! What more could you want? The bathroom - The room itself of course (does it even need to be said at this point) BEAUTIFUL. One of the things in particular I I enjoyed about this Inn was that everything was so solid and of impressive quality, from the countertops to the bar stools. Nothing felt cheap, or breakable. And I loved that we're not just expected to use a smaller towel as a bath mat - it's an actual real fluffy bath mat!! This is so rare and such a minor detail but to me it made a difference. And the bathroom was probably the cleanest I've ever seen at any hotel I've ever been to (not exaggerating- the entire room was completely spotless.) I highly recommend staying here. Yes, during peak season it can be a little more expensive than some other Inns/hotels but I've stayed at a lot of places in the area and nothing has compared to this level of service, cleanliness, beauty and amenities. And off-season, I have seen the rates being much less than other places. I'd love to come back and stay for longer than one night to be able to explore the beach. I'd probably upgrade myself this time because now that I've had that kitchen and patio I don't think I'd be able to NOT have that kitchen and patio. What have they done to me!

we just stayed here this week and to be honest it was not worth the money. our room was so damp…read moreeverything was damp and wet. the AC was so noisy it was very hard to sleep . the outside areas needed to be vacuumed and the chair cushions were so wet and moldy. the garbage cans were overflowing with garbage which was unsightly. yes it does look very pretty from the outside for sure but, this inn needs some TLC for sure. The staff was very accommodating as far as supplying towels and other essentials. the beach chairs are a nice touch but to be honest they are so low to the ground it is very uncomfortable and hard to get up from for older adults. And the bicycles should be free to use not a fee for use. The parking us also a bit of a challenge due to limited spaces available. which leads you to have t park across in the train station. which makes it hard to unload and load your car.
