I had to use my own cleaning supplies, that should have been a tip off when staff said they didn't have any, but did decontaminate for corona virus, I was worried about the mold and dirt more than anything.

I won't stop coming here, but this place has a lot of work to do.

best cabins and view. me and my family have been going here for the last 15 years and nothing but…read moregood things have come out of it. they recently went under new management and changed the name to lake cumberland marina and the renovated the dock and marina. still miss the old marina but it was a much needed improvement. the cabins were remodeled this year 2021 and the updated the couch added a coffee maker which is a keurig so make sure you bring k cups and added a few more new kitchen appliances. the bathroom had a new shower head and a new curtain. the bedrooms are moved around and better beds. the only down side is that the new couch does not fold out into a fold out bed which is what my family heavily relied on before the renovation. it is still a nice couch dont get me wrong but it is one less bed for one or two less people. you can call the marina and ask for an air mattress which was a pretty good size. the beach is still the same with the old swings and playground but it is still a lot of fun. we always go with our other family and rent the double decker pontoon boats with the slides and they never fail to make my family happy. the boats did get new motors which is nice so at least you can go a little faster than before but not as fast. overall it is always a great stay at this marina.

The pontoon boat was a comfortable way to cruise, although I would advise EXTRA time if you intend to grill supper on the boat...I'm sure the regulators are there for people who may not camp often, but it shouldn't take 45 minutes to cook brats :-p They stayed in the "motel" style cottage which had a nice view of the sunset on the lake. Everything was well-kept and clean. And, they managed to catch a few fish during their stay! A very easy, scenic drive from the Nashville area, I'd definitely consider spending a weekend here!

The boat performed well and we had a great day on Norris lake. My only complaint/suggestion, and why they lost one star, is the life jackets on the boat smelled like body odor. There were at least 8 life jackets stuffed into the back storage compartment. They were damp and just nasty. Luckily we brought our own so we didn't have to use them. Seems simple to pull all the jackets out, sanitize them(scuba places have this down for wetsuits), then hang them out to dry for the next customers. Besides that I would recommend twin cove for a boat rental if you have the need.

We rented a boat, gassed up the boat, parked in the lot, used the facilities, and ate a lunch here…read more Boat rental: super smooth process. Boat was exactly as advertised, clean, and comfortable. Upon gassing up for return, they pulled it around to the slip saving us the trouble. Refueling: they have long enough pumps to refill in any orientation against the dock. Staff were quick to provide pump service. Car parking lot: some concrete, some gravel, minimal shade, short walk across a concrete dock to the marina Facilities: bathrooms are tight, but I'm guessing that's so they could fit in two stalls instead of just one. Main door + curtains on stalls. No baby changer (no space). Lunch: We ate around 12:30, after breakfast was over (over at noon I think), menu was basic, but there were enough options - wings, tenders, sandwiches, pizzas, nachos, etc. Drink service was prompt and our water pitcher was refilled as needed. Our food came out and everything tasted just as described, no complaints! (But lets be honest, you come here for convenience, not the food, nothing to rave about) Dining area was as clean as you can expect from an open air atmosphere (a few stray gnats, but that can't be avoided). Biggest downside to the marina: No WiFi and no cell reception. (Download any maps you need before you head out for the day!)

The girl running the front desk, who continuously struggled to coherently articulate words into sentences, who appeared to be abusing anti psychotics/depressants gave me an option between 3 different boats. I chose a white tritoon and told her I would be there in 10 minutes (we are staying at a house directly across from the marina). My friend drops me off at the marina less than 10 minutes later with the jet ski we also rented from them the day before. I get there and check in with the manager to check out my boat and he tells me they are all booked up and can't accommodate us. The manager offered us no accommodations and told me, "sorry you're out of luck." For whoever is reading this it is important to understand they run their reservations for their watercraft on a computer system. There is no possible way they honestly messed this up. They 100% gave our reservation away to another couple in front of me who was complaining about not having any inventory. After begging the manager to figure something out for us so we could salvage the weekend, Sugar Hollow Marina then told me they have another boat they are picking up soon and maybe we could grab that one when it got back. They took my number down and promised to call me. Hours go by with nothing. I call multiple times asking for an update and the airhead front desk attendant continued to sell me a dream that we were gonna get a boat. I call back for the 4th time and I ask since they overbooked me, I cancelled another boat on the lake and ate a $450 deposit so I could rent from them, and now I'm not getting a boat at all, could they do something at all for us. I get put on hold and then she hung up on me. Never called me back. I will never give these people business again. Has to be owned by private equity at this point. Customer service doesn't matter. Absolute disappointment. Figured I could have fun and escape the transactional sad society I'm used to in the big city. I was deeply wrong.... DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. The change made since we have arrived are INCREDIBLE! Many of the old boats left from previous ownership that were dilapidated have been removed which has made the Marina look sooo much better! The increase of options in the Marina store with merchandise / food has expanded (not to mention the fountain drinks AND adult beverages). The pricing of adult beverages doesn't leave you wishing you had stopped in town, in fact some are cheaper than you can buy at the grocery! And entertainment???? July 4th fireworks last couple years has been pretty awesome! Every other weekend live music has been great (may be one who ended the night in Rocky Top with New York / New York but I don't see him back on the calendar! lol) And if you do have a cabin at Straight Creek and haven't ventured up to the Marina when they have an event, I hope you do! Great group of people are there! Moving on to staff...FIRST, let me say what they do is not contained inside the Marina store and the gas pumps. These employees take care of a heckuva lot more behind the scenes that what anyone cares to think of. Strong winds can come thru and break a line and a cabin gets loose, as a result a water line breaks free (sometimes unknown until cabin / boat owner arrives), oh and let's not forget (we've all been guilty) some forgot to arrange to have their tanks pumped and they call upon arrival wanting an immediate fix. The entire staff does everything they can do take care of all the requests we send in in a timely manner. Have there been hiccups? Suuuure, none of them are Gods but in moments when i've seen them stop to take a quick breather...I've seen them jump back up on to the next task. If you are looking for a new Marina home I hope people will give Straight Creek a look! I don't think you will be disappointed with what the Marina and its staff have to offer!

We rented a pontoon boat 7/20/26 and paid for them to deliver the boat to our lake house that we rented. I was told by Kennedy that the boat would be dropped off 9am-8pm.( time is in the signed contract) We tried to contact the marina multiple times because the boat wasn't dropped off. No answer. There were 12 of us waiting for the boat to arrive at our dock 8 adults, 4 kids(1yr, 3yr, 6yr, 8yr) At 10 am still no boat so a few of us drove down to the marina(wasting boat time and gas $$) to see what the issue was. The very rude manager(Autumn) stated she did not know until that morning that she had to deliver a pontoon to us. (THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM) I booked this rental AND PAID FOR IT ALONG WITH THE DELIVERY CHARGE 7/6/26($538.06 FOR 1 DAY) and had a reservation number. Autumn also claimed she answered our phone calls but couldn't hear us. I could not believe she is arguing with a customer. The boat finally arrived at 10:45am and was told they were late because they had to use our rental pontoon and gas to pick up another boat which was past our lake rental house. The boat had a 1/2 tank of gas which I have a picture of. I was also told the gas gauge was not accurate. Really?????Autumn told me the gauge was full when they left the marina.(Maybe it was but they used the gas to pick up another boat which was past our house.) Autumn didn't seem to understand this or even care. I was billed $48 for gas when they picked up the boat. We put $80(have the receipt) in gas in the boat but since the gas gauge wasn't working they could rip me off. Please everyone out there reading this RENT FROM ANOTHER MARINA!!! THIS BUSINESS ONLY CARES ABOUT MAKING MONEY OFF PEOPLE!!! It seems this same situation happened 6/29/24 which I just read in a review. You would think this operation would have learned from this 2 years ago but they really do not want to keep their customers happy. Terrible business!!!!Very unorganized if they didn't know they had to deliver a boat until the morning when the rude manager came in.
