The SMS staff and families have been such a huge and wonderful part of our lives for 8 years. It was hard dropping my older son off for the first time (at 3 months), but when it came time to drop my younger son off for the first time (also at 3 months), I knew he was going to be in such great hands, it really was like leaving him with family! I also believe that my older son's smooth transition into kinder was thanks to the 'academic' and social learning he experienced at SMS.

My first son started around 14 months and went all the way through the pre-k class which really helped him be prepared for Kindergarten. My youngest son started at 5 months old and I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Diane and Ms. Karen. They are both the sweetest people and you can tell they love the children they take care of. Dropping your child off at daycare can be scary at any age but when they are so little it's even harder. You just have to hope you can trust the people taking care of them. Diane and Karen went above and beyond in that manner. So much so that my son would often reach for them at drop off and even when I came to pick him up he'd reach back for them. They are the best!

Along with the day-to-day activities, they are always doing special things like his first day was a reptile show :) Wednesdays are splash days. The teachers are kind, dependable and hardworking. The meals offered seem healthy and tasty. They obviously put effort into the lesson plans, and there is a fun summer camp program. I would choose La petite even if they were the most expensive in town but they're affordable and have flexible hours to suit your needs. My toddler has never been anything but excited to go to school. Also, I'm convinced they are largely responsible for our potty training success! It's such a human, homey place. Our daughter genuinely loved going to school each morning and was always excited to see her teachers and friends. The teachers truly make this place special. Paola, in the baby room, is one of those rare people who is simply meant to work with children. Our daughter immediately bonded with her, looked for her every morning at drop-off, and learned to say her name very quickly. It was so reassuring knowing your child is excited to see their caregiver each day, and Paola gave us that confidence from the very beginning. When she graduated to the toddler classroom, Miriam has been equally wonderful. She is incredibly engaged with the children, and it was obvious from the start that our daughter connected with her. We've loved watching her come home counting in Spanish and enthusiastically trying to sing the ABCs, which is something we know was nurtured through Miriam's encouragement and teaching.
