i am impressed. i have been ordering plants online for many years and have always been happy with my plants on arrival. i received my 4 plants (pelargoniums) from garden harvest supply today. the quality of the plants, the packaging and the overall condition is by far the best i have ever seen. the box was super strong. the individual packaging was secure and undamaged. each plant in its cardboard holder was in perfect condition - green, moist and ready to go into my yard. there's no longer any need to look elsewhere for my gardening needs!! read more

I ordered four different color coleus plants. Since I live in Reno,NV , I was anxious to see what shape my plants would be in by the time they got here!They were very carefully packed ! First in a box that kept them separated from each other and in place and then in a bigger box with enough packing to keep them in place so that they did not bounce around in the box! The plants seem to be in excellent shape so far. I just got them today ,so I am waiting to see how they do .I hope that they are not in shock so they start failing their first week here. I placed an order for seedlings in April with an anticipated ship date of late May, due to my growing zone. After the items did not ship, I tried contacting the company by phone and email. The phone calls connected to a answering system that said they did not have customer service at this time and did not allow a message to be left. Three emails requesting a cancellation remain unanswered. Because the planting window passed and I had to buy seedlings elsewhere, I contacted my credit card to reverse the chages. Then, without a response to my emails requesting that the order be cancelled, I received a shipment notification. As stated, it is now past the planting window and I have no use for these seedlings. This company is beyond fraudulent. It's clear that they made a decision to keep everyone's money despite knowing their seedlings are being shipped beyond the planting window. I can't imagine the greed behind making such self-centered business decisions. read more

I have been ordering from GrowJoy since June 2018. I have ordered 38 different types of plants/flowers/herbs from them. GrowJoy does not use heavy chemical fertilizers when growing their stock, which is my preference. The biggest reason I continue to go back to them for online ordering is their customer service. All of the representatives I have been in contact with are extremely friendly and easy to work with. The second plus with this company is how they package the plants. There's no chance of plants getting squashed with their method; and of course it's all recyclable. And thirdly, I have had success with the majority of the plants purchased from them. Sometimes plants do come looking wilted; but once they are planted and well watered, mine have done just fine. If you have issues, give them a call and I know they will take care of you. read more

I placed an order for my patio geraniums in March. I live in Idaho so understood they wouldn't ship until May. I added a note to my order that if possible I would love them earlier (I have a greenhouse that I can keep them in). I called the last week of May to get a status update and left a message with my call never returned. I did get a shipping notice later that week with a tracking number. I checked the tracking number three days later to find that the order had been delivered to a city several hundred miles away and left on the porch. It was a Saturday, so GrowJoy wasn't open when I called. I called back Monday morning and Pat told me that she would check with the shipping department, that it was a USPS mistake, and that I would get an email stating what to do next. I didn't receive an email so I left a message on Tuesday - no reply. I left another message Wednesday morning - no reply. I called again Wednesday afternoon and spoke to Pat again who told me now that it is my responsibility to get in touch with USPS to have the package picked up where they dropped it and sent to me. Then if the plants are not in good shape when they finally arrive I should call them. Honestly, would the plants be okay after sitting in a box for over a week? If the USPS tracking still says it was dropped at a different house is it now only my responsibility to work with USPS? By the way, the current hold time to talk to anyone at USPS is over an hour... Horrible customer service! Had I gotten this issue at my business, I would have immediately reshipped the plants to the correct address overnight/priority and I would have worked with USPS. read more

I got some beautifully packaged mums late last summer. Unfortunately only one of the 4 survived the winter. I ordered similar items on May 4 this year hoping to have the items arrive around the posted shipping date of May 31. I prepaid around $50 and awaited my plants so I could put them in early and have well-rooted plants to survive the winter. I started trying to find out where my plants were around June 15. No method of contacting them is working to find out if they are even a functioning company. I used their contact page; I emailed them at info@growjoy.com; and I called their phone number after looking up their address. Now I'm finding some decent responses from them on Yelp, but they really should post the information about late shipments on their website. I was sure they may have gone bankrupt or lost a critical proprietor to COVID. They would do well to let customers know things are running late. Most customers understand business problems as the pandemic subsides. These bad reviews will carry on long after the year of COVID, but I think they may have once been a good company. Don't ruin your reputation forever by keeping paying customers in the dark; explain on your website what is going on! read more

I ordered two garden hoes from Garden Harvest since I have a two acre garden and do a lot of weeding. These are the best two tools I've ever used and would highly recommend them. I thought they were pricy at the time of order, but find them to be a much better quality than I've ever had for hand tools. I also ordered four different echinacea plants and while two thrived, two did not. Even though my time line was expired to return them, they are sending me two new ones. Ordered a flat of strawberry plants a few weeks ago and asked they they be delivered on or after Sept. 26. Received an email on Sept 26 saying they were shipped. Received the plants on Sept 28 in NC. Plants were beautiful. Well-formed roots but not root-bound. Couldn't ask for better service or better quality plants. Now I have no excuses if they don't do well. read more

This is my first review that I have ever written, because I do not like to write. I want to write this one because it is right to encouraging vendors to keep doing their good services for consumers. I ordered 3 plants from GH supply. After almost 3 weeks I still did not get my plants so I e-mailed the company. GH via returned e-mail and phone call in a mater of minutes. They told me the plants were delivered 6 days earlier so I went to check the neighbor offices, the box was sitting in next door for 6 days. We were not in when it was delivered, and the UPS guy left the package next door and did not leave a note. Two of the three plants that I ordered were dead...:). Even before GH supply knew I have found my plants they already offered to reship the items to me again. The plants were very well packed the two fuchsia plants out of three had many flowers on them too. It was just too bad that the UPS guy was careless did not leave me a note to let me know where they were until I found them too late. Especially the lady "Mandy" from customer service were so kind and patient to work with me. I feel that they have gone beyond to make sure I was satisfied (even it was a small order). Fellow Gardeners: steer clear!. I spend thousands a year on my gardens. I've worked at greenhouses and florists. Spent all Saturday morning browsing their catalog which was new to me. We are all addicted to new nursery catalogs, are we not? Two orders immediately ensued. First for coleus to one location: except for those who believe in botanical resurrection, all dead. Second location, I thought I'd try their less commonplace geraniums. Put together my order exactly as I had a couple hours earlier, and the site balked at my email address (exactly the same as the one earlier). Order would not be processed. Okay, I tried my three other email addresses, no dice. I'd now spent hours trying to place this order, so I called for assistance. GrowJoy does not feel it owes its customers attention on weekends when most working gardeners have the time to order. Perhaps GrowDisrespect would be a better moniker. I'm sure they have a nice farmstand which might be fine if you can swing the stationwagon, inspect, and transact out of a cigar box. But as for online sales, they neither care about you, your custom, or their stock. read more

The first plant we ordered was supposedly lost in the mail. The people were nice and said they'd send another. It never arrived, but the first one showed up eventually - very dead. We called about the second one, and they had forgotten to send it. They were nice and refunded our money promptly, but by then it was too late to plant what we wanted anyway. After repeated unsatisfying transactions with hirts, I decided to find other "mail order" vegetable plant sellers online. I purchased several plants just in time for the last frost. The packaging was great (and far superior to hirts) and the plants were HEATHY - all foliage were a good, healthy green. No yellow. No white. No brown. No purple! So much better than the plants I got through hirts. OK, enough bashing - I was happy with my order from Garden Harvest Supply. The only discrepancy was that the pea plant I ordered was completely wilted and crispy. It was a little difficult to get this resolved, but they sent me a replacement at no charge. The owner went above and beyond to help make up for it and personally emailed me, which I was impressed with and really appreciated. I will be a loyal customer. I just made my 2nd purchase to plant in a couple areas in my garden where the plants I received from Hirts perished and left bare! read more

Their customer service is terrible. When I emailed that half the plants I received in late June are already dead, they asked for pictures and other information. Any other plant supply company I've worked with would have just resent or refunded the entire order. Garden Harvest Supply told me they could not warranty because of the growing conditions. They said I should be watering every day or every other day. The product page did not indicate that. All I wanted was four new plants to make up for the ones that died. read more

Not impressed. I placed an order May 2, 2017 and was told they would attempt to have it shipped out that week. No promises. OK by me. However, not delivered. Called back following week and was told it would be shipped out and arrive in two days. Ok by me. However, not delivered. May 16 I contacted my credit card company to cancel the charge. Guess what. May 17 order sent out and rec'd two days later. I ordered 2 "Silent Pulse Gear Drive Sprinklers from GHS and couldn't happier!!!! The price was half what another retailer was charging and there was only one other source for these sprinklers. I found GHS through a Google search for the sprinklers and placed an order for 2, I'll be ordering 2 more now. These sprinklers were marketed under the "Orbit or Gilmore" brand when I first found them 2 years ago and now neither of those companies market them. Just received several Lantana plants delivered to me on the west coast. The plants are small but they arrived in great shape! The roots are to the bottom of the pot but not root bound. The soil was still moist after 4 days of travel. The packaging is amazing. Will definitely order again! read more

I usually order plants from few online stores, so I can compare, and I have to say that Garden Harvest Supply price is so reasonable, that I question if they are even profitable. Plants arrived in superb condition (chrysanthemums), all alive, in good shape and very carefully packed. Waiting time is very reasonable. Could be quicker - yes, but then how much you pay? In my opinion time is reasonable, and I am very satisfied, all my plants are happily growing it is been few weeks in ground and all are prospering. Horrible customer service! the first year I ordered in December for spring shipment. order was billed when shipped although the shipment was three weeks late and no one notified me. I found out when I called to find out why I hadn't received. This year I pre-ordered the same plants and they billed my credit card in Oct for a shipment to ship in March. No response to numerous calls and e-mails. Finally I cancelled and told credit card company to chargeback for non-shipment. Stay away from this company! read more

I found the nursery thoroughly professional in their handling of my order. Delivery was postponed a week because they ran out of one item, but the order was shipped promptly when it came in, & because of the delay I was able to add plants to the order with very little extra shipping cost. They were able to add the plants with only a few days notice before shipment. The plants arrived in just 2 days although I l several states away. I really like this mail order nursery! I wish I lived in Indiana so I could shop there in person! I found them when looking for strawberries to plant in the fall and they were the only place I could find them that had a good reputation. This is the first time I've ordered from them and I'm pleased. They are for REAL gardeners, not the armchair wannabes. The quality of plants shipped FAR surpasses those I've gotten when buying from the "big" nurseries that come through your mailbox. They are very explicit about the size of the plant they are shipping, the quantity and the packaging -- unlike some magazines which show pictures of 12-18 inch plants and ship a 2 inch plant. This allows you to make an informed decision about growing time and how much you want to spend (more money for a larger plant, or less for a smaller plant). I will be ordering from them again and will keep my fingers crossed that the quality stays great! Oh, and if you have questions -- guess what?!!! They answer their phone and they know about their stock and can answer questions!!!!! How awesome is that!!! read more

I ordered from Garden Harvest last year and received a great product, well packaged. I ordered again in the fall, and received everything so late, it was unsuccessful. They advised me to order early next time. I ordered in February this year. I still had to make some substitutions, Had problems with their website, so I had to order several times, then I used the option to receive my order 4 weeks earlier than they had scheduled. Not only did I not receive it early, it was shipped weeks late by their schedule! UPS had no info when I tracked the packages that never arrived. For over a month, I wrote everyday and received a one sentence email in response every week (or more). I was going to call the AGs office, so they finally apologized and said they were going to send what they had of my order. That never came either. I asked for a refund, and now over 2 months later... still waiting to see a credit on my card. Will go to a local nursery from now on. My garden is bare, since they are still hanging on to my garden budget. Disappointing gardening season this year. Hope to see credit this month. Their product is good, IF you can get it at all! Their customer service is horrendous... and their availability on offerings leaves a lot to be desired. Very frustrating, to say the least. read more
