They were extremely knowledgeable, not only sharing facts about each type of animal, but also telling us about the individual animals themselves - their personalities, stories, and little quirks. We were lucky enough to feed so many animals, including monkeys, lemurs, hyenas, a rhino, and tortoises. We even got to interact with some of them, including a baby gibbon, sea otters, monkeys, and kangaroos. This was an experience I'll never forget, and I'm extremely grateful to the zoo and the team for making it such a special day. If you're coming to Broken Bow / Hochatown / Oklahoma - or honestly, anywhere within reasonable distance of planet Earth - you need to visit Beavers Bend Safari Park at least once.

We tried coffee while visiting which was a lovely addition, but relatively unremarkable. Granted, it's a safari park! The walk through small animal exhibit has come a long was since I visited years ago. The entire area is well maintained and the animals seem happy and healthy! One of the hyenas we're limping though and we let management know so hopefully they were able to follow up. The otter experience was really disappointing. It's $40pp, 2 person minimum... so $80. We had twenty minutes to hang out with the two otters on the property, but our time was shared with another couple. The otters were really tired and we were told they had done four meets already, and they had several in line next. By the end of our experience, they were both asleep under the bench. The guide said they usually have a system, but she wasn't sure what happened to it. It seemed like they were getting a bit money hungry and forcing as many experiences as they can which sucks for both the guest and the animals. It really cheapens the very experience outing. I hope the owners are able to put some attention to the matter. They had other animals/experiences we would've chosen had we known the situation. I also thought we would be learning about the otters and we were just seated in the enclosure to play with them with every little interaction or communication from staff. If you pay for a premium experience, you would expect one. The drive through was really well thought out and enjoyable. I love that the animals seemed well cared for and respected! We would definitely come back, but likely wouldn't invest in the more expensive experiences.

The snake already has abrasions on it and seemed to be hurt before he started swinging the poor thing around. Won't be back after that. I brought my in laws and their children (my husband and I just got married so this was a celebration) and my gosh. My first experience here was so good and the animals were being watched properly.

Every single staff member we encountered was so friendly and ready to explain every animal. They were very knowledgeable and engaged the kids. Bathroom by gift shop was very clean, as was gift shop. We enjoyed the variety of animals, we took our time and were there about 2 hours. The sloth experience was very cool getting to see such beautiful animals up close. Everything else was caged and you can't even get close to them. The drive thru loop is smaller than my own 3 acres. We drove almost 2 hrs to see this. My husband voiced his disappointment to the owners because we had read on google that it was 1000 acres. They asked him to show them where he read it. When he did, they made the excuse that it was on Google and they didn't put that on there. The owner literally snatched my husband's phone out of his hand. When my husband got his phone back, the man told us to get the HELL off of his property. I have video if anyone would like to see!!

Heard offers short and longer nature trails with tons of areas to rest, shade, and signs. Our favorite parts this time were the dragons along the path. Kids from ages 2+ can have a fun time here. Bring a picnic, cold water, and enjoy nature!

Which,it really was back then. Jump forward and civilization has grown right up to the doorstep. However,once you park and enter,another world opens up. They've done a great job of developing the place where you can go and see what north Texas was in its unspoiled condition, as well as participating in organized activities. Such things as flashlight night walks for all ages to the fund raiser I attended today. There's something for everyone especially if you're new to this area. However, the person that was texting me was incredibly terrible at her job so I decided not to give them my business. Extremely disappointing. The first message I sent was telling her all what I wanted, listed above ^ (I also asked if any animals had African origins because the bday is Tarzan theme, I tried to look online but not all descriptions had the animals origins) she asked me the date, I sent it to her (June 20) and she didn't respond. I texted again the next day saying "I can have the party early morning since it will be hot around that time of year" out of concern for the animals because I assumed maybe it would be too hot during the day and that's why she didn't respond (still rude) then she sends me a screenshot of my own message, the one where I told her what I wanted & asked to know if any animals were of African origins, just that message. She goes on to apologize and explains she's checking on the dates "sorry wrong person, I am checking the date" but there was no date in that message that she screenshot. The date was sent after that message so that didn't make sense. I say "haha that's okay, thank you" anyway because I really wanted them at my son's birthday party. She says they don't have the train ride and the movie doesn't work during the day then asks me how many snow cones and cotton candy. I respond and say "I could have the party later 5-9 and 40" she then says that the movie isn't available at all and tells me prices including 40 snow cones ($200) and mileage ($500) mind you, I was texting a Dallas number and I am only an hour and a half away from Dallas. But I was willing to pay the $500 fee anyway if I was going to receive the animals, Hairy Gary and the food truck or wagon still so I asked "would it be the food truck or the wagon?" (to provide snow cones and cotton candy) She says "likely just a set up on a table so we don't have to haul an extra trailer" I'd just go buy a snow cone machine if I wanted a simple set up. The prices made no sense, she was short, offering no clear explanation or apology as to why certain things weren't available, she kept changing her reason for not being able to provide what I wanted and never answered the question about the animals origins either. It was incredibly confusing and disheartening. I will not be suggesting them to anyone. I'm giving two stars because at least the options for animals are great, though you might not get much else they offer!
