Very pricey for the amount and quality expected. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which was base of 11 bux then add 6 bux for the chicken and add a side of broccoli for 5 bux and you are up to 22 bux?!? Finding great places to eat that are also organic isn't always easy. Grown provides a service I don't really see in Miami quite often. It has a "fast food" sort of approach while maintaining the authenticity of a farm to fork restuarant. I find this so refreshing so I've been back a couple of times. Typically I've received my mean within 5 minutes of ordering it, but when it's paarticularly busy around 10-15 minutes. I recommend creating you own meal so you can try different sides and proteins. Pros: The food is good, I've eaten here a couple of times and my favorite is the Wild-Caught Salmon. It's nice that they have a drive-thru, I have two toddlers and Lord knows its sometimes easier to just pass through a drive-thru than to have to get off at a restaurant with a million items. Cons: The menu is confusing and there should be a less expensive option. I understand the food is organic and made fresh, but a "middle of the road" option- maybe a bowl with rice, beans, and a protein, should be offered so people from all demographics can elect to eat a healthy meal for lunch. The reality is, a middle-income family would not be able to eat at Grown often- if at all. Also, whoever designed the inside of the restaurant did a poor job. The waiting area gets filled quickly. When more than two or three people are inside the restaurant in the line, people start having to wait outside, which not only deters people from entering the restaurant, it's uncomfortable. read more

After eating here a few times, I realize that I appreciated Grown's concept far more than its execution. Here is why this restaurant is not a success: 1) *Mixed message/concept Identity crisis.* While Grown features a green, living wall and t-shirts with vegetarian messages, the menu offers an overwhelming amount of animals and animal products. 2) *Grown...and destroyed.* They often cook vegetables to death in salt and oil so that there is little trace of their natural color or nutritional content remaining. NOT HEALTHY, folks. Brussels sprouts, for instance, are often served as a mound of charred salty pellets. 3) *Under-informed employees.* Wondering if the featured soup is vegan? So is the confused person taking your order. But wait, they'll "like, go ask someone else for you...like, maybe they know...um....." 4) *Not in stock.* They are almost always out of basic menu items: desserts, portobellos, cabernet.... Because of the way the menu is constructed, if there are no mushrooms, vegans/vegs are left high and dry. 5) *They mis-classify "protein."* There is more protein in some of the legumes, greens, and grains that Grown serves than in mushrooms, but they label the mushrooms as their non-animal "protein" source, demonstrating their preoccupation with taste/texture over any interest they might have in true nutrition. read more

I really really wanted to like Grown. I was excited. I had been waiting for the initial new restaurant hype to wear down. I was ready to be blown away by a great healthy organic meal. We went Sunday for lunch around 1pm. My husband had to change his order about 4 times because everything he asked for, they didn't have. We both got the chicken salad sandwich with the havana vibe + a drink. The total was $50. When I asked the cashier why it was so much (I didn't look at prices on the menu, so my bad) She explained that each sandwich was $11, and the protein we chose was an additional $6. Ok. So I'm expecting a sandwich stuffed with salad and a hearty portion of chicken salad. Not so much. I got a good scoop of chicken salad. But the $11 salad portion was laughable. I got about 3 leafs of lettuce and a spoonful of tomato/pico, beans, corn and tortilla strips. Sorry but that's just unacceptable. If you're going to charge $11 just for lettuce and bread, make it worth my while. At the end of the day, the taste was ok, but by no means worth $17. Taste wise: it was ok. But that's typical of Miami fans, jumping on the bandwagon as usual. I visited the drive thru, as I was on my way to an appointment and wanted a healthy option on the road. I ordered a simple greens wrap which is supposed to come with lettuce cucumbers tomatoes onions candied pecans and apples and a lemon vinaigrette sauce. The wrap by itself is $11 I paid an additional $7 to add my protein which was chicken. Aside from the wrap completely falling apart because it was so moist there was not one apple or one pecan in any of my bites. I also ordered an iced green tea for a whopping $4 a pop. Starbucks doesn't even charge that much. Don't get me wrong I'm all for paying high prices for good quality food. I'm a regular at jugo fresh paying $14 for an acai bowl but at least after that I feel satisfied and like I just indulged in something amazingly good yet still healthy. I went to Grown on a Friday at 2:00pm. A few tables were full, and there wasn't a line in the drive thru or inside. The decor is amazing and the play area for kids (which is the only thing that earned them my 2 stars). The menu is confusing and none of the employees were jumping at the chance to help me. In fact, they were just chatting behind the ordering station. I ordered a wrap with chicken and a lemonade. "What soup?" she asked. "It's free." So I said chicken tortilla. The total was $21. For a wrap with chicken, a lemonade, and a "free soup." I immediately felt terrible. I thought of what I could have bought instead. I could have cooked a whole meal for my family of 4. The food came out fast, and I went to my car to take a look at what I spent $21 on. The way it looked did not help my feelings of remorse. I decided to take it home to eat it anyway. The wrap tasted ok. It was soggy, and the whole wheat tortilla was disintegrating as I ate. The worst part was a chicken bone the length of my pinky finger that I discovered with my teeth as I bit down. Well, I guess it proves that they tear apart the rotisserie chicken by hand. Cashier informed me they were out of avocado so I couldn't order the avocado toast. I ordered the Love Greens pressed juice and I was good not too sweet. Ordered the omelette wrap with egg whites. It was also supposed to have avocado but since they didn't have it they offered to put hummus in it. That was thoughtful. However, wrap was super soggy by the time I walked from the counter to my table.. Eggs were way to juicy so it was very difficult to eat. It amazes me that most people aren't suspicious about how Subway can still manage to make a profit off a $3 sub. Here's a hint: it's because you're eating junk that's poisoning your body. I was most excited when I realized there was no soda fountain at this place. It's such a pet peeve of mine to see restaurants that label themselves as healthy, yet they have diet coke being dispensed. This place is also a great option for those with food allergies/intolerances. They ask about allergies when you place your order and the employees are very well trained on how to handle those situations. I cant remember the sandwiches I've had, but they've all been great.
